Your camera can detect the movement of a person up to 32ft / 10m from the camera when on the highest True Detect Motion Sensitivity settings. More intense heat sources (e.g. vehicles) may detect a little further away and less intense heat sources (e.g. pets/small animals) may need to be a little closer before they are detected. The range/sensitivity of the motion sensor can be adjusted via the True Detect Motion Sensitivity settings bar in the app. We are sorry to know you have since returned your camera. The night vision distance on the camera is up to 100 feet in black and white or 32 feet in color. Outside of this range, the subject may be hard to see. So returned it. Should of known better than to go with Swann products though my last 2 camera system only lasted 6 months before cameras and DVR stopped working.

Great except they do not record at night with PIR

Will only record at night with "Detection" selected. Very frustrating. Spent numerous hours on with Tech support but they could not make them work with "PIR and Motion" Selected either.

PIR sensors work optimally when the camera is mounted around looking down somewhat and the subject of detection passes across their front. The more the object must "cross" the front of the camera the better the detection reliability. When placing your camera try to avoid situations where the subject would move straight toward the camera if possible. In most common cases, our support team can help adjust the settings of your recorder to better fit your needs.
If we are unable to get your unit to work, we offer a 1-year warranty provided a copy of your receipt or 18-months with valid registration.

If you are having problems streaming you can lower the settings and test to see if it improves. Based on the information provided, it is not common for our system to go out after 7 days of use.
