Best cameras me andy wife bought for our house we love them because everytime we're away we get a notification for motion right then no matter how far away we are from our house even when we're out

She is very good and films very well, she has very good quality

Cameras are good. The night vision is not a great as you I expect but you can see the image clear and the people faces.

I used Swann for years and streamed through a capture device online. This system does NOT allow for that. Sad.

Nice product the only complaint is that when u play back cant listening

To be clear, I accidentally got the 8 camera model. This model comes with 8 cameras that record at 1080P. The camera's also have night vision, which works really well. Each camera has the ability activate a bright yellow light, or a flashing blue/red light. I was able to activate the yellow light remotely from the app on my phone, but couldn't find how to activate the "enforcer" light (flashing blue/red). Checking the manual via the app didn't help as much as I would have liked. It would often mention options that didn't show on my app. While certain features would list that it was for certain models, other features, like enabling the enforcer light, were mentioned as if it were an option for all models. Set up...it could definitely be a lot easier. The system comes with everything you need, but everything is wired. The cameras are all wired and require extended wiring to use from distance. The DVR required wired connection to your internet. Even the mouse for the system is wired. This requires a bit more time setting things up, which, is fine, security is worth it...but know what you're getting into. Swann advertises a professional installing service in the box. The DVR works great, but the system can be annoying. Operating with only a mouse can be annoying. This means the DVR has to be set up in a place where I can use a mouse. The mouse it comes with is wired (as mentioned above) so connecting the DVR to say, my living room TV and accessing things from the couch...or connecting it to my bedroom TV and being able to see what's going on everywhere from my bed...not an option with the included hardware. Would a wireless mouse work? I've yet to try as my wireless mice are all bluetooth. Maybe a dongle based mouse? Major key...hit "apply" after any change. The system comes set up with menu timeout at "1minute" meaning after 1 minute of inactivity you have to enter your password again (with a mouse). I changed that to "off" multiple times, but missed the "apply" button...so I kept entering my password. As a newcomer to home security systems, the Swann Enforcer system dispelled some of my nervousness around home security systems (1080P is fine) but at the same time confirmed some of my other worries (setup can be a hassle and not for your average joe). As a base level security system, it gets the jobs done, cameras with solid video quality that can be viewed remotely via an app. Ease of use however is an opportunity for improvement with this system.

These are fine cameras. Before this set, I was using the Amazon Blink cameras so that’s my main comparison point. Installing these was a bit of a pain for me. I had to fish wires through the attic, which mine isn’t really readily accessible so that made the installation challenging. Comparatively, the Blink cameras were extremely easy to install as they are wire-free. The quality of these cameras is excellent. Definitely better than the Blink cameras, as well as the fact the camera feed is 24/7 rather than just motion-based. The quality of recording at night is great. Very clear and precise images and have not had any issues with false detections. My main complaint at this point is these cameras are so finicky about internet and they’re sure to notify you each and every time they’re struggling with it. I have very good internet and a nice router, everything else in the house has internet and works perfectly but these still give me notifications. Which would be less annoying if it was just one notification, but it’s one for each camera, so 8 notifications. My Blink cameras sat in the exact same place and only very rarely had problems, not to mention they were on Wi-Fi and these are literally wired.

Swann - Enforcer Dvr8-4690rm is truly a remarkable Business / Home security System. With 8 Cameras all with full HD advanced color recording it will blow you away in capabilities & features, some you would never think you could use but will find a godsend. I’ve installed the system and tested its features and only fully explored its value for a few days thus far - but all results were remarkable. I could not cover all the features in a thousand words, and how you could cross set the cameras to get exceptional information about your targets. First part was installation; I was very intimidated by the wired setup and possible mischief of getting all the pieces to work. In the past all I found with “Spy” cam systems was electrical shortcomings, installation issues, failures, under performance and a chore for any Installer. With this system being wired installation will complicate things on the PHYSICAL end, but certainly NOT on the software and support end. I was so intimidated at first that I even asked CS will I be wasting my time with the setup I have a very odd home setup with serious limitations, but once I leaped into the project it was 1 Hr to start seeing fireworks and easier than I ever imagined. I was up and running, Ethernet connected, Cloud Ready, with Motion sensors, Audio, AI for object definitions, zone in zone configurations and 8 Cameras with color HD , at least a dozen more features I haven’t yet had the time to fully explore and a 1 TB DVR to record it all. The System works with IOS and Android the network remotely and has reasonable quality that you can set in Camera thru the DVR. Alerts setting can be trigged to your computer / Smart phone and video can be seen on at least 2 cameras remotely, the system supports only dropbox at the time (NT) The system is equipped with a smart internet interface My Experience with Security Cam based systems were poor & Lores and not available to the average public and a chore to install and maintain in working condition. B/W Lores under the hood with audio produced marginal results and failing a great deal, installation and support, running at least 4x the cost of this ENTIRE system. Less than a decade ago I got a Portable Cloud based, waterproof Security Cam system which produced marginal Color and audio costing as much for each ONE camera in the system, the ONLY noticeable advantage was portability which Swan offers accessories at a far better cost. Installation for a challenged person like me will be ongoing to cover the entire home 1st and 2nd floor. Transparent Tape and 60’ white cords mean my greatest challenge will be a step ladder, however professional Installer contacts are provided by swann systems. Ultra HD, wifi, Solar panels systems are also available based on your budget. I hooked up this DVR to another DVR with Ethernet MOCA and built in wifi and they are now BFFs w/o issues, also hooked up display to a VGA port on my a NON-SMART TV and results were good, screen cannot display all 8 Camera feeds automatically but it does 4 with no issue and ½ of two more but well into the limit of my needs since I can always replay what they captured.

So i have my daughter living with me and my ex wife wanted her to be safe obviously. I may have gone a little overboard but when it comes to my kids safety you cant put a price on that. So not to throw adt under the bus but there door camera does not even remotely compare this system. At night i get a video of people walking by my house but with the swann system i can see what color there shirt is or there shoes. So if they are up to no good with the swann system i can call the police and say a person just stole bla bla bla from my house and the are wearing a red hoodie with a green shirt and blue jeans. So now they have a great description of what the bad guy is wearing. With my adt set up i can say well it looked like a ghost walked by my door because the night quality of the adt system is not remotely even close to the swann system. Now also the swann system is for video taping and it has a 1tb drive so it says ill get up to 6 months of recording time and that's great. With the adt setup it is wireless and with the swann system i had to install wires for the 8 cameras. So install on the swann is a little more in-depth but not a big deal. The adt system i use in tandom with the swann system so if someone breaks in ill have a super clear picture of the person breaking in and the adt system notifies the police fir or ambulance. So if your a concerned parent the swann system is super nice with awesome quality construction and pretty easy setup but its mainly for recording and you can use it after the person broke the law but you still have to call the police were i simply press a button and help is on the way with my adt system. My personal opinion is go with both if you can afford it. The swann records at up to 1080p resolution and the video quality is clear and shows enough details to help pinpoint the bad guy. The swann system you can also transfer videos to a USB drive or to online storage. So if you have videos you want or need to keep you will not lose them. All in all i am very happy with the system. I really feel you cant go wrong and i have had 0 issues with it.

I've used a number of home camera systems over the years but always avoided wired systems. Primarily because I didn't want to deal with running the cables. However, the wireless systems are nice but not always reliable. Particularly if the signal has to pass thru brick walls and such. This system (I have the 8 camera version. Exactly the same as the 4 camera) comes with everything you need. Cameras, cables and the hard drive. Running the cables isn't as bad as I expected. Just figure out where you want to place the cameras and measure out the cables to make sure you have enough. This shouldn't be an issue as the cables are more than long enough. The cameras are indoor or outdoor cameras. So far the harsh winter weather hasn't created any problems. Having a local hard drive is the way to go. You can still access your cameras from anywhere, but you have the footage stored locally. This is a good way to go instead of worrying about everything being online. The entire system is pretty easy to use and full featured. If there is a downside it's that the cameras are 1080p. These days you would expect 4K. However, those systems are out there but cost much more. And at the end of the day 1080p works fine. Also, 1080p takes up less hard drive space enabling you to store more footage. The day/night switching works well and the video even at night is decent. Good enough to identify someone from the image. Motion detection works great. You can even use this with Alexa & Chromecast. I would say for most home owners (or small businesses) this will provide you with everything you need and with good quality.
