Easy of install depends on your access to the area directly above you want to install each camera as these are wired cameras. They come with more than enough wire to cover my entire home with the box placed in central location.

You might want to have somebody run those if you don’t have enough time and patience to spare but once that is out of the way, it is very easy to set it up with a TV or computer monitor using the included HDMI cable and mouse. It is not 4K but the image is clear enough and it does save storage space, which can be a plus. Also, being wired, it is a lot more reliable than WiFi: no interference and no batteries to charge or replace. Network setup is as easy as connecting the network cable to your router. The red and blue flashing warning lights can actually scare some people away as somebody experienced last night. No, it wasn’t a bad guy but the person was a bit apprehensive of approaching my property. One of the most annoying modern camera security systems feature is notifications with false alarms but it seems – so far – that I won’t be bothered so often because the notifications are based on warm objects instead of just motion. In addition, you can also define detection zones. All that combined more than makes up for the non 4K capability. The color night vision is better than expected although I have experienced similar quality with another brand. The cameras are plastic, which I have some concerns about durability but being a budget system, I’m not too worried about it. Below is a quick summary of other Pros and Cons. Pros: • No-fee recording • Works with both Alexa and Google Assistants. I depend on that capability at my smart home and office. • Very good app • Good video quality • More cameras can be added • Quiet DVR Cons: • Plastic cameras • 1080p only • No support for Apple Assistant? • The app is mostly to view, not to set up. Five stars for the low false positive alerts. That is probably the most outstanding feature although it is far from being the only good thing about this security DVR system
