Garbage product, app is choppiest video ever....basically waste of money

Not impressed. Video is grainy no way is 1080 and night vision almost non existent. these cameras are not up to the task. .

If you are looking for a solid, wired security system for your house or property, you could do well with this Swann system. The biggest caveat to any wired security system is installing it, and as long as you are aware of that going in (but also of the benefits of wired) then there’s no reason to discount the system. Wiring for each camera is generous, and tucking them away in the wall seals or running the cables through holes drilled in your property isn’t an issue. Installation is straightforward, and there’s nothing really to fault here during the process. Construction of the cameras does feel more robust than some wireless counterparts (I have a few Arlo inside the house and the Swann cameras have a bit more weight to them and feel less plastic). My biggest recommendation to anyone would be buy a separate monitor/tv for your security system to use exclusively. If you do that, you won’t have any issue with placement of the system’s DVR box. Once everything is set up you’re pretty much good to go. I really like the cameras blue/red lights and sirens, and the motion detection seems to be spot on. The heat detection feature seemed to be hit or miss, but I felt that was the least important of them all for my needs. Some people may also find that the 90-degree angle of each camera is too little, but again if you place your cameras right this shouldn’t be too much of a problem. My only real gripe is with the Swann app that they have. It’s okay at best, not like the cloud-based systems such as Arlo’s interface. It’s a bit clunky and could benefit from an overhaul. Of course, most likely you’re not going to be relying on the app and cloud-storage (hence why you’d buy a wired system) so it’s a bit of a pass for me. Overall, the camera quality is good at day and night, DVR is clear and has ample storage, and camera wiring is long enough to ensure coverage.

Can't record sound no microphone would be better if it had a microphone

We had to return this item as we thought it was wireless. We didn’t want hardwired.

As with any wired camera system, the wiring itself is going to be the most time consuming part of the install. However, once all the wiring is complete, set up is quick and painless. The video quality is crystal clear, and the night vision is impressive. I currently use all 4 cameras to monitor my property on the corners of my house, and the camera system has performed flawlessly both day and night. There are adjustable settings for motion, heat, and face detection. Also, having cloud backup of recordings is a great feature, so I don't have to worry as much about local storage filling up. Overall I would recommend this camera system to anyone needing some additional security, either at home, or to monitor cash registers or general business use in super high resolution.

Straight trash as my child says bout something thy is not worth the price! The app is joke and let me explain 4K it don’t matter is it’s 16k it’s the tv lines that count all they did was sharpen the image to make it look like it’s something! Let’s not talk about this app it so far behind it’s not live so if you see someone breaking in your car to late if your away from home they are already gone. This thing is worth 120 he’ll go on Amazon me buy a Chinese one I paid 100 Is not 4K but looks better than this Swann has became a joke bought it today goof back tomorrow

I had been looking for a security system for my home after my car got broken into two times. This is the answer! The box itself was unassuming. I actually thought it was smaller than I expected. Inside the box are three smaller boxes containing the cameras, cables, DVR, and power cords. Everything was surprisingly light. This on top of the fact that everything is plastic does give off a cheap feel. I am a little concerned about the future wear and tear, but only time will tell. I would say setting up can be intimidating at first. I had my elderly father first try. He is by no means tech illiterate, but he kind of gave up after a few minutes. The instructions helped alot. However, given that there is no way to connect the wrong way, I would say that set up is pretty foolproof. Once you get the hang of it, connecting everything is a breeze! The biggest hurdle in setting up these cameras are running the cables through the wall. This was very difficult for me and there was a learning curve. However, this was not because of the Swann system. I would have had trouble with any wired security system. You do need to connect the DVR to a TV. Once connected, you just run setup and you should have images! In order for you to have remote viewing, you need to connect to your router with an Ethernet cable. There is no wifi capabilities. Honestly, I did not mind either way. I did not feel the need to use time sync and app so I did not use the Ethernet cable. I will say, it was annoying to not have a keyboard. There is a USB mouse that you use to operate the software. I thought that a keyboard would work, but unfortunately, it was not the case. There does not seem to be keyboard support. You can set up everything you need. Motion detection, alarms, sirens, scheduled recordings, etc. You can also make it so that the blue and red lights trigger when it detects motion. It was feature packed. However, I will say that the OS could be a little bit more user friendly. Now on to the most important part: the image quality. I was impressed! The images were clear. They were not 4K quality crisp, but I was very impressed. At 4K, the FPS do drop significantly, so I did not really think it was useful to keep resolution that high. However, the images were great even in low light settings. All in all, this is a great security system for the price. The build quality and long term durability is a concern, but with all all the features at this price point, I don't think you can go wrong! The Swann Enforcer is great security system with many features. There was a few set backs with installation but was because I took it upon myself to do it all. I highly recommend getting it professionally installed to save time and make it easier for yourself. Everything is included in the kit for the installation and the directions are easy to follow. The system itself works great and picks up movement at night perfectly. The night vision is in color but don't expect vivid color. My favorite part about this system that sets it apart from others is the heat sensors. We have coyotes around us and this helps detect them and keep our dog safe being able to know they are coming around. The light system works great and will definitely scare anything off. This system also is saving us money because it doesn't require a subscription and all the video footage is saved on the base unit. My only complaint is the app itself. It's slow to load and lags at times but it's expected because of the way the security system is. I just think a nice update could make the app more easy to use. Overall the system works great and I highly recommend this security system!

First things first- I can't speak to the installation process, because I hired a local handyman to do the work. It was definitely more involved than a standard wireless system, but the quality of the picture and features definitely made the extra expense/effort worth it. The box pretty much has everything that you would need except a 4K monitor. Once the cameras were mounted and connected, the picture was amazing. There is full 4K when viewing the live feed, which gives an added sense of security because I'm able to get a detailed look at what's going on. The night color vision and heat sensor really set this apart from the competitors, especially at this price point. We set the flashing lights off for a test, and they will definitely scare off any intruders. The best thing about this system is that there isn't a need for a subscription plan. The DVR keeps your video on a hard drive instead of the cloud. There's no need to connect to a network, although the app does offer a quick and easy way to monitor and adjust your settings. This is a MUCH more comprehensive security solution than the low priced wireless doorbells and auxiliary cameras. I'm not a security expert, just a single mom looking to feel safer in my home. This system definitely meets my needs and exceeds my expectations.

Installation wasn't too tricky but there was one slight barrier with the DVR configuration. My problem is figuring out which PC windows app to log into the DVR. I spent several hours researching Swann support articles recommended by their auto chat system. None of the apps on the Swann support site lists an app for my DVR. Maybe there isn't one.

Horrible. Could not get the app to work on my phone. When I would tell the system I’m home and to disable deterrents it wouldn’t work. I would be outside working in the lawn and the dam alarm would go off. I spent over an hour with tech support and they couldn’t figure it out. Told me they would get back to me. 2 days went by. I returned the system. Which was what really ticked me off. Spent alot of time running wires and installing cameras only to take it all back out. Don’t cheap out. Go with a Lorex system was much better

I am not a security system expert by any stretch. However, I was able to install this system successfully by myself with some dedication and a bit of common sense. While I have never had a security system previously, I always wanted one. Something that had stopped me from getting one was the complicated nature of installing a wired system. I was not interested in a wireless one as they usually run on batteries. This system is wired. While yes, it took some work... There were no surprises. The system was hooked up, and worked as expected. Getting 4k security footage is incredible. I especially like the heat-sensing abilities of the system. This is supposed to reduce the chance of false pickups, and better performance at night. I am also a fan of the ability to connect it to my 4k smart tv, and Google Home. Swann hit it out of the park with this system. I went from a nervous newbie to having a full camera security system set up all by myself. If you are like I was, worried about the difficulty setting up a system like this, then don't be. Follow the instructions, and you will be happy!

This camera has good quality but im missing some days from the log i bought one for my mom and she having the same problem

I thought it was difficult to install. The right parts were not included in the box. Ended uo returning.

Our family likes the Swann Home 8-Channel, 8 Camera Indoor/Outdoor Wired 4K UHD 2TB HDD DVR Security Camera Surveillance System –Black and feels safer using this product (System). With few exceptions, this System has operated flawlessly and the System has maintained an excellent value for the money. As someone experienced with new construction/renovations/modifications, I installed this System myself with ease, but I think the typical homeowner with general skills, a ladder, screw driver/battery powered drill, hammer and staples should be able to install the eight cameras in several hours. The eight cameras’ field of view provides more than a 360 degree field of view around our home. The video/power wires are white and blend nicely with white trim/fascia/vinyl, etcetera. If you want the wires hidden as we did, you’ll need some sort of fish tape and several more hours’ project time, but I guarantee you the overall appearance of the project installation will be well worth the additional time. These cameras are white with a dark-face and the cameras are not bold in appearance or offensive in nature but the cameras are noticeably a deterrent when viewing our home. Having moderate computer skills, the setup was pretty easy, but I could never get the wireless connectivity to the monitor connected which would add additional security if the recording unit were located in a locked closet; So I used a cable and password and the included DropBox cloud video/picture storage, email and push notifications which work flawlessly and negate any threat of intruders removing the DVR recording unit from the home. The DVR recording unit is small and hides nicely next to the TV. As compared to other brands, the video quality/FPM/Night Vision is unmatched in this price range. Our night vision is extended considerably with dusk to dawn lights. With our recording settings and sensitivity levels, the 2TB storage is enough for more than two days of recording storage before the DVR overwrites; however, that storage amount could be increased or decreased depending on the recording settings/sensitivities chosen. Due to the warmth of the camera, the lenses maintain a clear lens even in the dampest of environment. Depending on the camera location and any external housekeeping habits/schedules, insects and spiders will dirty the lens or obstruct the view over time, so cleaning the lenses and/or spider web removal will be necessary at times. This System is just over three years old and all of the cameras still have a crystal clear view during the day. However, at night some of the cameras have acquired a diminished view that is not crystal clear due to some sort of internal contamination on the lenses; one camera had this deficiency at the time of installation, but it was not noticed until night time and the slight visual appearance did not warrant returning the camera or System. Even with the diminished night view, the affected cameras still perform well at night and the motion detection is not affected. This System implied it has one-way audio on two channels; however, I could never get the audio to work properly, even with remote help. The home app was easy to install on multiple phones for all the family, and I can view and make limited changes from anywhere in the world as long as internet is available. The DropBox cloud storage feature was easy to connect and adds a secure viewing/recording storage away from the property. I have used local playback and recording features copied to a jump drive to document funny encounters and wildlife antics and the day/night recording quality is sufficient to identify particular animals or individuals from a distance. After three years this System is no longer available new, but I still believe the sense of security and peace of mind that this System has provided me and my family was well worth the purchase price and the installation time.
