The system works right out of the box with just a little administration. Has an app to avoid the need for adjusting the firewall. Also, the flashing blue and red sends your brain into "run it's the police" mode for some strange reason.

This Is The One To Get
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After a long time of researching the different products available on the market for home video security systems, I discovered the Swann Enforcer Security System. It is brand new on the market, so there weren't any reviews available to give me an idea of exactly what I was looking at, but the specs on this thing were amazing, so I decided to make the plunge. This system is a 4K Ultra HD eight-channel video system that comes with (6) cameras, and the ability to add (2) additional cameras if you want. It is a wired system. Other features are full-color night vision, motion detection with heat-sensing, the ability to remotely activate flashing lights and a siren. When I first unpacked the box, I was honestly a bit intimidated by everything that is included. Like I said, there are six cameras, mounting hardware, a Two Terabyte recorder, six power/video cables (each 60' long), HDMI cable, at least three power supplies, and an ethernet cable for connecting directly to your wireless modem. The system comes with a quick-start guide that explains the basics on what you will need to do to get the system up and running. The first thing is to connect the video recorder to the wireless modem and your TV (which MUST be High Definition and capable of displaying 720p or 1080p video, AND must have a free HDMI connection. After making sure I had everything, I followed the simple set-up procedure. This involved hooking everything up and making sure everything worked properly. And it did. You must download the Swann app. And you must also MAKE SURE TO CONNECT THE MOUSE or you won't be able to access the setup mode (which will be visible on your TV once you have everything hooked up. Once you are sure everything is working properly, it's time to disconnect everything, and determine exactly where you are going to put the recorder. Just remember, it must be directly connected to your modem. Then determine where you are going to place your cameras. Swann provides a ton of online videos that help a lot in not only in how to mount them, but also in how to actually place the cameras for optimal viewing. This is a wired system, meaning you must physically run the cables from the recorder to the various cameras. This was the most difficult part for me since I live in a one-story houses with an older traditional style roof (which means there isn't a whole lot of room in the attic to move around. You will probably need to put on your thinking cap in order to figure out the best way to run your cables. NOTE: Included with the system is an install card which, from the way I understand it, will allow you to hire someone to install the system at a very minimal cost. Since I wanted to do the install myself, I didn't pay a lot of attention to this perk, but it seemed like one heck of a deal! The install was a bit complicated, but after the initial learning curve, it went very smoothly and quickly. I got all the cables hooked up and made sure to wrap the connections at the cameras in electrical tape as an added precaution against the possibility of exposure to any moisture. The install, from start to finish, with several breaks along the way, took almost six hours. But, I was in no hurry, and seeing as this was my very first install of this nature, I wanted to make sure everything was right every step of the way. After getting everything reconnected and situated, I turned the system on, and from the very beginning it was amazing. I had my buddy go around to each of the cameras and I had him adjust them to get the best view. (We did this by cell phone). As he approached each camera, I immediately began receiving alerts on my phone letting me know that the system had detected motion. The app allowed me to remotely view each camera in real time. So when the motion sensor was activated, I was immediately able to open the app and see my buddy as he approached the cameras. After getting the cameras set up, we decided to test the image quality. As I watched the video on the TV, he would go to each camera and slowly walk backwards holding an old license plate. (I got this idea from one of the Swann installation videos). At around 35', the license plate became fuzzy, but I am fairly certain this is due to the fact I am using an older TV that was nowhere near top-of-the-line quality. I feel sure that if I had one of the high-dollar sets, I could probably have stretched the distance by another 15' to 20' at least. I might also add that you have the ability to zoom in on each camera shot, which allows for greater detail. From 50' I was able to easily tell who he was, and to see good physical detail. And by the way, you can use the app to drop in at any time to get a live feed of all your set-up cameras. The system also has the ability to connect to Alexa and Google Assistant. I could add a lot more, but I am sure that by now you are able to see just what a great system this is. I would highly recommend this to anyone. So let me go over the pros and cons. Pros: Superior quality components Extremely high quality video quality Easy to use app, and fully compatible with Alexa and Google Massive internal storage with the ability to store images off site for greater security Fully adjustable cameras with 90 degree field of vision Full color at night Motion detection Real time alerts and notifications Wired, making it almost impossible for anyone to hack into your system via WiFi The ability to remotely activate flashing lights and/or siren Cons: The video recorded has a distinct hum. (I'm glad it's in the spare bedroom). Installation is difficult for some The included instructions are sketchy and vague. Again, thank goodness for videos online. This was especially apparent when it came to trying to figure out how to connect all the power supplies All in all this is the system I have been waiting for. It has everything I need to leave my house and feel fully confident that I am protected. I fully and wholeheartedly recommend this system to anyone.

It says they're 2 way audio but they don't. They do not record everything. My videos jump from 1 hour to another plus they look all blurry. I think those reviews with so clear videos are paid reviews.

CCTV Cameras w/ Quality Viewing

Takes some time if you are new at setting up cctv cameras. Cords are long enough, if you know through we’re you will be running the wiring. Quality is great. Better than nest cameras, my previous set up. No need to worry if wifi fails. Can see videos through phone as well.
