To preface, the Switch OLED is aimed mostly towards people who play in portable mode primarily. The Switch OLED offers no benefits to those who play in docked mode, beyond the addition of the LAN port (Ethernet) in the new dock. However, even if you primarily play in docked mode, you may change the way you play after getting this. The Switch OLED’s screen is beautiful. That’s even an understatement compared to the underwhelming screen on the original Switch. It is a night and day difference. Even more apparent than the gorgeous OLED colors is the screen size. Although, on a technical side, it is only slightly bigger, it makes a big difference. I cannot stress enough how much of an improvement the larger screen is. Games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Breath of the Wild benefit from this screen increase by making it easier to see inventory screens and smaller world-based details. The new stand on the Switch OLED is exactly what we should have had on the older Switch. The stand has a smooth resistance when opening and closing it, which helps you to situate it in just the right angle. It is sturdy. I wouldn’t worry about it falling over at all, unlike the last Switch. In the end, I believe the Switch OLED is the perfect upgrade to anyone with an older Switch, or someone who primarily plays in portable mode. The upgrades, although relatively small, make a massive difference in gameplay enjoyment. If you manage to get your hands on one of these, you won’t be disappointed.

You might want to wait for the next generation of switches. It is a neat device for what it is, but the store is laggy, install speeds are incredibly slow, and the processing speeds are lacking. This definitely feels like it was released 7 years ago and ready for a refresh. 30fps is jarring and sometimes nauseating, especially in 3D games. If you've never gamed, or coming back after a long time, or If you aren't used to gaming at least 60fps, you might love this device. I recommend trying one out. maybe you aren't as sensitive to this as I am. Despite these negatives, I can still see this traveling with me when I'm on the road. Plus sides, battery seems great, it's portable, the storage is expandable, the screen looks great, and the docking system works really well. Also, there is a huge library of games. When it's refreshed, I will likely be buying one. I love the idea of couch co-op and the multitude of family-friendly games.

Little more can be said about the Swicth. I like it, the kid's addicted to it, and it is an improvement (slightly) on the original console. We sold the old one and got this. The way I look at it, I ended up paying a little more to upgrade the console screen, stand, battery (remianing life), an the joycons that had drift. A lot of family fun for Nintendo fans

After having some issues with my launch day Switch I figured it was finally time for an upgrade. After having this system for half a year I've got to say that this is a very premium feeling system. Stronger build with more internal storage, substantially better screen quality, sound, & kickstand. However for those who don't play in handheld mode this might not be worth the upgrade. Especially with the next generation system right around the corner.

Upgraded switch with brighter screen. Definitely had to get new storage as games keep getting bigger, and you cannot just move the card from one switch to another. The joy cons don't have any drift, but i had the original switch for years before it was noticeable.

Amazing product, my son loves to play games and the colorful graphics of the games are a special attraction. Excellent definition in Nintendo games, but be careful when the games are from other manufacturers because the quality drops, much more due to the game developer than the Nintendo product. I'm already looking at accessories so I can continue to take my video game wherever I want.

Honestly if you already have an original Switch, the OLED is still a great upgrade. A much better screen, more storage and a superior kickstand for just $50 more than a standard Switch? It's a no brainer decision. While it's certainly worth it if you primarily play in handheld mode, if you spend most of your time playing while docked, then it probably isn't worth the price of admission for you.

Great compact console. Nintendo online offers plenty of new and nostalgic games for hours/days of gameplay. Love the portability and the compatibility with docking station. OLED doesn’t offer much more than original version, but a nice upgrade on battery life and graphics. Owned all three versions of switch and this is the best.

My daughter received this switch for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. The screen is nice and large and that makes for easy gameplay. The whole family likes to play games on it. We really like how you can connect to your TV for more fun. It's like playing the Wii, except in a more travel friendly version.

Bought this for my daughter as a graduation gift - The screen size and OLED clarity make this the perfect choice not only for gaming on the go but works amazingly well for apps like Hulu as well.

my 12 year old son would say the additional gigabytes from 32 to 64 was his number one selling point so he would be less worried about running out of space when adding games to the device. overall it’s a more sleek design and meshes well with other furniture or electronics in my home. It has a bigger screen and a better kickstand than the original model which easily broke off. affordability wise, if your budgeting, you could also go for the older model, which would give you a lower price point, but if you’re going to invest, you might as well invest in new.

It surprised me how many games Nintendo actually supports! I was between this and the Steam Deck, but I went with the Switch and I really couldn't be happier. Given the portability of the console, the various ways to play, and the literal thousands of games to choose from, it really made the purchase worth it. Plus, being able to buy both physical media and digital downloads gives lots of options for great deals on games. The OLED screen is large and bright with fantastic color, and it plays beautifully on my 4K HDR TV while docked.

Best portable game console PERIOD. Still well worth the price in 2023. The OLED panel makes colors pop, and the larger screen is even more immersive. Pokémon scarlet/violet looks GREAT on the OLED switch!

Absolutely well designed and fun to use. I am not a gamer and don’t like many games, but there are so many games available for Switch that everyone will find a few to play, and the switch is so fun and easy to use, I can’t imagine anyone having any issues figuring out how to use it. And the OLED screen is gorgeous. Super sharp and bright.

Major improvement over my launch Switch. The screen is mind blowing, and the battery life is drastically improved. The newer version of the dock is nice also, with the built in LAN capability. Still be wary of the common Joy con issues, which unfortunately Nintendo doesn’t seem to care to fix.

I originally had the 1 generation 32 gig model of the Nintendo switch. It was a nice consul overall. I did notice some lagging on games like Fortnite, roblox and minecraft. So, I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to the oled and I’m glad I did. It’s definitely worth the extra $50.

Being an older gamer makes me enjoy the extra screen real estate, it’s easier on my eyes to read the smaller text. Oh, let’s not forget OLED. BOTW looked great before but now it’s an entirely different level. Also coming from a version one with abysmal battery life, I play with the brightness all the way up, this things just seems to last.
