The best way to play a 4.5 year old console, but..
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are two groups of people that this product will appeal to, and as a result two different ways to review it. The first is as someone completely new to Nintendo Switch, and the second as someone who already has an older version. The five star recommendation is for someone who has never had a Switch before, and what I'll be talking about first. Nintendo games. Zelda, Mario, Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Splatoon, Smash Brothers, etc. You can't buy these games for any other current home console, and it can even be taken on the go with 4-5 hours of battery life. It's not a powerful console by today's standards, but it can still play at HD resolutions 90% of the time. The ecosystem is a less endearing. The eShop is cluttered, playing online requires a subscription, and you can't keep any legacy content offered on it - not to mention you may never get to play the old game you want to play at all. As an example, the Nintendo 64 system just got its first games on the platform over four and half years after it launched, and still has bugs. For N64, it's also an additional charge to the NES and SNES games. So not great. Overall, the Nintendo Switch's best qualities are its enormous library of incredible exclusive games, and the flexibility to play anywhere or any way you want to. Its biggest liabilities are a greedy parent company that knows many of its fans will be willing to pay any price for their services on their terms, and a relative lack of console power. There are reasons to be excited for Switch, but there are certainly aspects of its ecosystem that could be much better. For people that already own a Nintendo Switch, this version does not change much - especially when playing on the TV. I don't recommend getting it if you already have a Switch, unless you really don't mind the small upgrade and full price new console. This version adds a larger 720p OLED screen, doubles the storage, and changes a few things on the console structurally. The new Dock has a native ethernet port, however this will be available as a standalone purchase at another time. Specs of this console Screen: Samsung AMS699VC01 CPU/GPU: NVIDIA ODNX10-A1 (Custom TegraX1 Processor) RAM: 4GB Dual-Channel LPDDR4X RAM Storage: 64GB eMMC (Samsung KLMCG4JETD-B041)

Works well, Everyone is Happy, Would Reccomend!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these for our household as a gift. They work really well and everyone is happy with them! Very *Minor* issue(s) - The controller buttons may be a little smaller for people with bigger hands and dexterity or nostalgia issues but, the controllers can be combined to make a "biggger" one to potentially combat this. Also, again a very minor point, built in storage capacity is excellent but, the system gets a little bit slower once a large (a fairly significant amount) quantity of games are stored on it. This can be overcome by buying more storage if needed however, it is pricey if you go for 1TB extra. Overall an excellent system and everyone is very happy with them.

Best purchase for me in a long time
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is a little gem. I have rheumatoid arthritis so i can not play games on my cell phone because my hands and fingers do not work like a normal persons hands. I love playing games and this brings back memories of my Nintendo when i was a kid. I paid $20 to get the year subscription to the switch network and i can play any and all Nintendo games i played as a kid. Mike Tysons punchout well its called punchout now but also the original Mario brothers and Metroid and i picked up a couple new games Need for speed hot pursuit and the new Mario brothers 3d world and fast and the furious to name a few and the screen is so amazing. The quality is no were near your older handheld systems. I gain a few bonuses playing on the switch as in a brighter way bigger screen than my phone and the battery seems to last forever. If i want i can hook up to me TV and the controller transforms into 2 separate controllers so multiple people can enjoy the switch on any TV to play multiplayer games. The best part is when im playing it the controller is way bigger than trying to play games on my cell phone so i have 0 trouble controlling the games it works great.

OLED MAKES A DIFFERENCE
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say I was excited to get this. Not because it was the latest model of the Nintendo switch, just the fact that I was able to get it since I wanted one for awhile now. The color on this OLED screen makes all the games POP. The clarity and graphics are crispy clear. The size of the display is a nice upgrade. Definitely get this! Worth the extra what? $50?! White is pretty clean and appealing.

Love this product
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this Switch screen is way better for one. Kickstand is made way better on this model. and also an extra 32GB of storage still ain't much, but being able to put a MicroSD card in for storage helps. Recommend buying a MicroSD card right off the bat epically if your buying all digital games.

Exactly What We Wanted and More
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To preface, the Switch OLED is aimed mostly towards people who play in portable mode primarily. The Switch OLED offers no benefits to those who play in docked mode, beyond the addition of the LAN port (Ethernet) in the new dock. However, even if you primarily play in docked mode, you may change the way you play after getting this. The Switch OLED’s screen is beautiful. That’s even an understatement compared to the underwhelming screen on the original Switch. It is a night and day difference. Even more apparent than the gorgeous OLED colors is the screen size. Although, on a technical side, it is only slightly bigger, it makes a big difference. I cannot stress enough how much of an improvement the larger screen is. Games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Breath of the Wild benefit from this screen increase by making it easier to see inventory screens and smaller world-based details. The new stand on the Switch OLED is exactly what we should have had on the older Switch. The stand has a smooth resistance when opening and closing it, which helps you to situate it in just the right angle. It is sturdy. I wouldn’t worry about it falling over at all, unlike the last Switch. In the end, I believe the Switch OLED is the perfect upgrade to anyone with an older Switch, or someone who primarily plays in portable mode. The upgrades, although relatively small, make a massive difference in gameplay enjoyment. If you manage to get your hands on one of these, you won’t be disappointed.

Nintendo Switch OLED is Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Nintendo Switch OLED! I have had my Little Nintendo Switch Lite for years but felt it was time for an upgrade. It is easy to set up and gives you options for play. You can play on tv, on your handheld or with the convenient adjustable stand. It charges quickly and explains a lot to you. Tons of games you can get for it!

Awesome console
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Little more can be said about the Swicth. I like it, the kid's addicted to it, and it is an improvement (slightly) on the original console. We sold the old one and got this. The way I look at it, I ended up paying a little more to upgrade the console screen, stand, battery (remianing life), an the joycons that had drift. A lot of family fun for Nintendo fans

Review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great compact console. Nintendo online offers plenty of new and nostalgic games for hours/days of gameplay. Love the portability and the compatibility with docking station. OLED doesn’t offer much more than original version, but a nice upgrade on battery life and graphics. Owned all three versions of switch and this is the best.

Switch OLED upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded switch with brighter screen. Definitely had to get new storage as games keep getting bigger, and you cannot just move the card from one switch to another. The joy cons don't have any drift, but i had the original switch for years before it was noticeable.

If you're used to Xbox series X or PS5...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You might want to wait for the next generation of switches. It is a neat device for what it is, but the store is laggy, install speeds are incredibly slow, and the processing speeds are lacking. This definitely feels like it was released 7 years ago and ready for a refresh. 30fps is jarring and sometimes nauseating, especially in 3D games. If you've never gamed, or coming back after a long time, or If you aren't used to gaming at least 60fps, you might love this device. I recommend trying one out. maybe you aren't as sensitive to this as I am. Despite these negatives, I can still see this traveling with me when I'm on the road. Plus sides, battery seems great, it's portable, the storage is expandable, the screen looks great, and the docking system works really well. Also, there is a huge library of games. When it's refreshed, I will likely be buying one. I love the idea of couch co-op and the multitude of family-friendly games.

I Finally Got One
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was debating what switch model to get for a long time, and a coworker suggested the OLED for the better graphics and slightly bigger screen size, and I was sold. Especially since it's only $50 more than the first version. The stand feels more stable as well. And the battery lasts longer than I expected, so that's great.

Oled fun time nintendo switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oled great picture quality. The joycons i suggest some other than company. Joycons may or can be better. The battery life is good an outside day or with the children at home. As well as the oled the design and color as a preference me like but feels greta in the hands and the games on the oled switch is fun to enjoy. Now the storage may be okay on my account but after all the buying for memeory its well added to notes to at least buy a 64gb memory is good if you dont need many games i have about 7 games for 32gb and for the eleast to say it great.

The Switch Perfected.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having some issues with my launch day Switch I figured it was finally time for an upgrade. After having this system for half a year I've got to say that this is a very premium feeling system. Stronger build with more internal storage, substantially better screen quality, sound, & kickstand. However for those who don't play in handheld mode this might not be worth the upgrade. Especially with the next generation system right around the corner.

Excellent Product
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing product, my son loves to play games and the colorful graphics of the games are a special attraction. Excellent definition in Nintendo games, but be careful when the games are from other manufacturers because the quality drops, much more due to the game developer than the Nintendo product. I'm already looking at accessories so I can continue to take my video game wherever I want.

Portable Perfection!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best portable game console PERIOD. Still well worth the price in 2023. The OLED panel makes colors pop, and the larger screen is even more immersive. Pokémon scarlet/violet looks GREAT on the OLED switch!

upgrade from 1 generation switch
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my 12 year old son would say the additional gigabytes from 32 to 64 was his number one selling point so he would be less worried about running out of space when adding games to the device. overall it’s a more sleek design and meshes well with other furniture or electronics in my home. It has a bigger screen and a better kickstand than the original model which easily broke off. affordability wise, if your budgeting, you could also go for the older model, which would give you a lower price point, but if you’re going to invest, you might as well invest in new.

Surprisingly Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It surprised me how many games Nintendo actually supports! I was between this and the Steam Deck, but I went with the Switch and I really couldn't be happier. Given the portability of the console, the various ways to play, and the literal thousands of games to choose from, it really made the purchase worth it. Plus, being able to buy both physical media and digital downloads gives lots of options for great deals on games. The OLED screen is large and bright with fantastic color, and it plays beautifully on my 4K HDR TV while docked.
