Nice upgrade from the old Switch
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a lot of pros with the Switch 2. I like that it is still compatible with the original Switch games, I already have a ton of those. As an adult player I like that the remotes got a little bigger, add a cheap case or cover and it will feel better when playing handheld. I like that we can now play 4k docked. I wish they would have added more memory and had more Switch 2 games at launch.

Add a Title: Worth the Upgrade – Excellent Launch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch 2 is a massive upgrade from the original. Load times are lightning-fast, visuals are crisp on both handheld and docked modes, and Mario Kart World is a blast right out of the box. The new Joy-Cons feel sturdier with better button feedback, and the performance boost is obvious during gameplay—no lag, smooth 60 fps. Battery life could be better during extended sessions, but it's a small trade-off for everything else you get. This bundle is a great value for anyone jumping into the Nintendo ecosystem or upgrading from a previous model. Highly recommend!

A new an improved Switch Console
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgrading and improving the previous generation of the Switch family, the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers better performance (most games now run at a steady 60FPS) and a higher resolution. The console’s handheld screen has grown a bit and the Joycons have also been redesigned. The dock also got a new design which keeps the console cool under load. Some new features such as chat and video chat have been added as well. The Switch 2 takes the best of the Switch 1 and makes it better.

NS2 an excellent handheld console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this a few months ago with MKW bundle, DKB and Sonic Gen. Been a long time getting a handheld since the PSP days. Very slick-looking and well-made hardware and generally pretty intuitive. A bit bulky and heavy but pleasant to touch and hold. So far enjoying the games when playing during lunch times at work. Biggest minus is the battery life as you can't play too long without having to recharge again. As well as having to pay to play online, albeit no different from other console systems.

The Next Evolution of Hybrid Gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 (released June 5, 2025, starting at $450) is not a radical reinvention, but a critical and commanding evolution of the hybrid console concept. After years of the original Switch stretching its capabilities, the Switch 2 arrives with a much-needed power boost, a gorgeous new screen, and quality-of-life improvements that make it a compelling purchase for newcomers and veterans alike. A Genuine Leap in Performance The biggest story here is the custom Nvidia Tegra T239 processor. Built on the modern Ampere architecture, this chip finally brings the Switch into the current generation of graphics. The results are immediate and transformative: in docked mode, the Switch 2 can push out up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on supporting displays, thanks to sophisticated AI upscaling technology. This means games look incredibly sharp on a big-screen TV, a monumental improvement over the original Switch's 1080p output. The upgrade isn't just about resolution; it's about fidelity. The new chip supports advanced graphics features like ray tracing, allowing for more realistic lighting and shadows, which is already apparent in launch titles like Mario Kart World. With 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, developers now have the necessary memory headroom to create experiences that simply weren't possible before. Handheld Experience Refined The console’s commitment to portable play is stronger than ever. The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch LCD display, a noticeable size increase over even the Switch OLED model. Crucially, it supports a native 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate in handheld mode, complete with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. While the shift from OLED back to LCD might disappoint some, the quality of this 120Hz LCD panel is exceptional—it’s bright, responsive, and makes games feel buttery smooth. Nintendo also addressed one of the most common complaints: the flimsy Joy-Cons. The new Joy-Con 2 controllers are now magnetically attached, offering a far more secure connection to the console and eliminating the risk of accidental slips or "wobble." The internal storage has been quadrupled to a respectable 256GB, finally giving players adequate room before needing to invest in a microSD Express card (which supports up to 2TB). Connectivity and Ecosystem The new hardware is rounded out by long-requested system features. The inclusion of native Game Chat is a huge step forward for the online experience, simplifying the process of communicating with friends. Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch Online service gets a major value bump, with the new system providing exclusive access to a library of emulated GameCube titles. The console maintains full backwards compatibility, meaning your entire library of original Switch games carries over. This seamless transition ensures there’s no gap in content, making the upgrade painless. Verdict The Nintendo Switch 2 successfully delivers on the promise of a true next-generation hybrid. It provides the power necessary to compete with modern portable rivals while preserving Nintendo’s unique focus on accessible, joyful gaming. The combination of 4K docked output, a 120Hz handheld screen, and practical refinements like magnetic Joy-Cons and increased storage makes the $450 price tag feel completely justified. If you are looking for a powerful, versatile, and instantly fun gaming console, the Switch 2 is the best option on the market.

Great for Catching Up, But Waiting on the Future
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch 2 is a solid upgrade in terms of hardware — it runs smoother, looks sharper, and keeps that signature hybrid design that made the original such a hit. If you’ve got a huge backlog of Switch games, this is definitely the best way to play them. Games load faster, frame drops are less of a problem, and older titles feel fresh with the performance boost. But when it comes to new games? That’s where things start to feel a little underwhelming. The launch lineup isn’t very exciting, and first-party releases are pretty thin at the moment. It feels like Nintendo is still holding back their heavy hitters, and third-party support hasn’t taken full advantage of the upgraded specs just yet. The Bottom Line: If you’ve missed out on the original Switch library or want to replay classics with better performance, the Switch 2 is a great pick. But if you’re hoping for a flood of new, next-gen Nintendo experiences right now, you might want to hold off a bit.

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Good Stuff (Things I really like): • The Graphics are SO Much Better. In games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Switch 2 Edition, everything is super clear. On the first Switch, things could look blurry or fuzzy, and that was just irritating because my brain had to work harder to process the visual detail. Now, it's sharp and clean. I can see all the details in the grass and the characters' clothes. It's very visually satisfying. • Faster Loading Times! This is maybe the best part. Waiting for games to load gives me major anxiety. The screen is blank, I don't know if it's frozen, and the suspense is just… not good. With the Switch 2, games like Cyberpunk 2077 (yes, it’s on Switch 2!) load way faster. Less waiting means less worry and more time to focus on the game's patterns. • The New Joy-Con 2 Controllers: They feel bigger and more solid. The clicking noise when you attach them is still there, but they don't wiggle as much when they're on the console. The magnets are strong, and the "snap" is a good, dependable sound and feeling. Less unexpected movement is a plus for sure.

Nintendo Switch 2 Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a fantastic evolution of the original hybrid console. It keeps the versatility we loved seamlessly switching between handheld and docked modes but with noticeable upgrades. The improved graphics, faster load times, and longer battery life make gaming smoother and more immersive than ever. Joy-Con improvements fix many of the issues fans had with drift, and the enhanced screen quality makes handheld mode truly shine. Whether you’re revisiting classic titles or diving into new releases, the Switch 2 feels like the console the original always wanted to be.

Switch 2 for the WIN!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great gaming system, Nintendo rectified the items people gripped about in the original switch. Bigger screen, joycons that attach magnetically, stand that takes up full size of device vs tiny stand for a corner. Great product

Great upgrade from the first Nintendo Switch.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been loving this console. Handheld and dock modes are both greatly improved with better graphics and smoother performance. One downside is the battery life is not great when playing in handheld mode. Don’t expect to play longer than 2-3 hours on a full charge. Nintendo played it safe with this next gen console but that is not a bad thing. They have consistently put out great games and the improved third party support is refreshing. Can’t wait to see what the next few years has in store for this new gen console!

Excellent Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent upgrade from the Switch 1. Mario Kart World is well worth it as an included game. The Switch 2 upgrades of games such as both Zelda games play much better and look sharper with the upgraded hardware. The only knock I have is 256 GB is too small of storage, if Nintendo is going to take the approach of wanting to go all digital with their games. If the expectations are to buy additional storage, then they should've opted for Mico SD instead of the new standard Micro SD Express, that's way more expensive for less storage.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 is everything I hoped for and more. The upgraded graphics and smoother frame rates make a huge difference, and the battery life is noticeably better than the original. Same same but different
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enough differences but also not enough differences compared to the first switch. Screen size is great, resolution and frame rate is nice but the lack of games and a fresh UI is disappointing. Overall good upgrade if you are still on the non OLED switch. Although I Don’t think it’s worth the price tag

Big upgrade over the original!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This version is a big upgrade over the original Switch. You can really feel the responsiveness, faster load times, etc. I picked mine up at midnight on release day, and when I unboxed it, I was pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it was than the original. It feels good in the hand when you're playing in handheld mode and the screen is bright and has great colors. The controllers also feel more solid compared to the original joy con. Only time will tell if this proves true (we've been through a number of joy cons on the original) Getting to play Gamecube games is also a great addition.

Graphics, screen and battery life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love our Nintendo Switch 2! It’s fast, smooth, and the graphics are a big step up from the first model. The bigger screen makes games look amazing, and the improved battery life means we can play longer without worrying about charging. It’s super versatile for both handheld play and docked on the TV. Definitely worth it—fun for the whole family!

Super Nintendo Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the JoyCon 2, for their improved button size, good feeling sticks and matte finish. I also like the large, vibrant screen. Mario Kart world has been great with my siblings, the Zeldas get a nice upgrade, and there will be plenty more awsome games to come over the next decade that just weren’t possible on the original. The only dissapointment I have is that the battery life isn’t quite as good as the Switch OLED, but that is a tradeoff of powerful, portable, good value hardware.

Nintendo Switch 2!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new switch is awesome! I waited a little over a month to write a review so that I could allow some time to pass to fully get the experience using it. The larger screen is great, new joy cons are easier to use and the graphics are much much better than the previous version. Every game loads quicky and looks awesome. Playing Zelda, Pokemon and the new Donkey Kong bananza game have all proved to be great on the Switch 2. Can’t wait to play Pokemon legends Z-A when it releases!!
