Switch Things Up!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Admittedly the Switch 2's release is a little underwhelming compared to the original Switch's. Hopefully in time the games will make this console a must-buy like Breath of the Wild did for the original Switch.

Switch 2 joycons couldnt reconnect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the console only since best buy did a good job on delivering the switch on time. I got it the day it was released. Right now my switch is unusable i honestly dont know what happened it just randomly turned off while i was playing it and when it turned back on i couldn't get the joycons to reconnect. No matter what i tried they wont coknect i tried everything. I ultimately factory reset it but still nothing. I dont know how to fix.

Wrong system was sent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I give the item one star, because the Switch 2 with Mario Kart was not the item that was sent to me. I was sent the basic Switch 2 system, but was still charged the same price as the Mario Kart edition. I also had to spend extra for the Mario Kart game through the Nintendo store, due to the circumstances I was in I was unable to send the console back or wait even more days for one to come. The roadies had already sent part of my order to another address so I did not trust it after this experience.

The next gen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Evolution of Play: A Review of the Nintendo Switch 2 The original Nintendo Switch revolutionized gaming by truly putting the "home console" in our hands. Seven years later, the question on everyone's mind is: Can lightning strike twice? With the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo doesn't just aim for lightning—they've brought a whole storm, refining a winning formula into a next-generation powerhouse that honors its legacy while boldly leaping forward. First Impressions: A Sleek, Familiar, yet Premium Feel Unboxing the Switch 2 feels like meeting an old friend who just got back from the gym. The console itself sports a similar, iconic silhouette but now features a slimmer bezel around the screen, allowing for a full 8-inch OLED display that is breathtakingly vibrant. The new Joy-Cons attach with a more satisfying, solid click, addressing a minor but common concern from the first generation. The overall build quality feels more premium, signaling that this is a significant upgrade, not just a minor refresh. Performance: Where the Real Magic Happens This is the heart of the upgrade, and it does not disappoint. While Nintendo keeps official specs close to its chest, the leap in performance is immediately apparent. Visual Fidelity: Games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, when played via backward compatibility, run at a rock-solid 60 frames per second in full 1080p handheld mode. Docked, the console confidently outputs stunning 4K resolution using NVIDIA's DLSS technology. This means games are not only sharper but also richer, with more detailed textures, better lighting, and draw distances that make open worlds feel truly limitless. Load Times: Say goodbye to lengthy loading screens. Fast-traveling in massive games is nearly instantaneous, keeping you immersed in the experience. Gameplay: Refined and Expanded The new Joy-Cons feature improved analog sticks with Hall Effect sensors, virtually eliminating the dreaded "Joy-Con drift." Haptic feedback is more nuanced, allowing you to feel the difference between walking on grass, sand, or cobblestones. The console also introduces new, innovative gameplay features that developers are already leveraging, promising unique experiences we can't yet imagine. The Library: The Best of Both Worlds The Switch 2 launches with the ultimate advantage: an incredible library from day one. Full backward compatibility with both physical and digital Switch 1 games means your entire collection gets an instant, free upgrade. Playing Super Mario Odyssey or Animal Crossing: New Horizons with enhanced performance feels like rediscovering them all over again. Coupled with launch titles like a stunning new 3D Mario game and a teaser for the next Monster Hunter running flawlessly, the message is clear: the Switch 2 is the definitive place to play, both past and future. The Verdict: A Must-Own for Everyone The Nintendo Switch 2 is a masterclass in iterative design. It understands what made its predecessor a cultural phenomenon and focuses its upgrades precisely where they matter most: performance, display quality, and build refinement. It doesn't abandon the playful, accessible soul of the Switch; it elevates it. Final Score: 9.5/10 Pros: Massive generational leap in power and visual fidelity, beautiful new OLED screen, full backward compatibility, improved Joy-Cons, innovative new features. Cons: Battery life, while decent, can be shorter when pushing maximum performance in handheld mode. The premium feel comes with a slightly higher price point. Whether you're a lifelong Nintendo fan or someone who missed the first Switch, the Switch 2 is an essential purchase. It’s a confident, polished, and incredibly fun console that secures Nintendo's place at the forefront of creative and accessible gaming for years to come.

Nintendo Switch 2 Review: Snappier JoyCons
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a noticeably sleeker package—thinner at 0.55 inches, with a premium matte finish, sturdier kickstand, and refined 10.7-inch-wide body weighing just 1.2 lbs with controllers attached. It's more portable yet imposing, blending familiarity with polish. Magnetic Joy-Con 2 controllers are a revelation—a satisfying snap-on/off beats the old rail system's wobble and wear, with larger grips, chunkier buttons, and mouse mode for precise pointing in games like Fortnite. No drift issues yet, and they're comfier for extended play. The 7.9-inch 1080p LCD shines in handheld with HDR, 120Hz VRR, and pretty crisp visuals. Some downsides to note. Battery lasts 2-6.5 hours (often 2-3 for AAA like Mario Kart World), shorter than OLED. Wish they carried over the OLED screen as the LCD shows some ghosting vs. OLED blacks.

Worth It Overall, Even with a Few Issues
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I think the Switch 2 is a solid upgrade from the original Switch. Most newer games run better and look noticeably improved—Hogwarts Legacy in particular looks much better on the Switch 2 and loads faster, which was a pleasant surprise. I love having access to GameCube games, though I really wish there were more available. I’m still patiently waiting for Twilight Princess. Battery life is honestly just okay. It’s fine for short bursts, but if you really lock in for a longer session, you’ll likely need to charge or dock it. I’d estimate around 4–5 hours of playtime. Some older games that haven’t been properly optimized yet do run a bit strangely. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning has a noticeable sky glitch that can bleed and look broken, and Cult of the Lamb feels shaky with somewhat blurry text. It does kind of suck to have a new system when some of my main games don’t look great on it yet. That said, overall I still really like the system. The larger screen is a big plus, and the kickstand on the Switch 2 is a huge improvement—it’s longer, more stable, and feels much harder to break. I still own my original Switch, but I haven’t touched it at all since getting the Switch 2.

Switch2
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch 2 is a big upgrade from the original Switch. The screen looks much better, games run smoother, and it feels more powerful overall. I really like being able to play both handheld and on the TV, and older Switch games run faster. The downside is the price and the battery life, which could be better. Also, not every game at launch feels brand new. Overall, it’s a great console for Nintendo fans and anyone who likes portable gaming. I’d definitely recommend it if you already enjoy the Switch.

It's a amazing console!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The console is amazing, think of as a super gameboy advance or a super advanced Nintendo DS, with a single screen. It is a 1080p screen with alot of brightness and you can push upscaled 4k 60 fps on the tv 4k screen. Looks amazing. There is even settings where you can turn on dlss, which is a upscaler to help make graphics look more realistic colorful and clear, 120hz, mode for faster fps, low latency mode for even faster respond speeds, rgb range, and hdr for more colors. To make the console run at max settings. Pros Screen: 1080p lcd screen but it's still pretty good for gaming. Sound: It's good and has base but it could be louder. Battery: depending how how long you play it lasts 3 hours, mine lasts about a day but thats with breaks after 45 min. Maybe i got a good one. Connection: it connects real quick and stays. Build: really good build! Cooling: cooling functions work perfectly. Memory storage: comes with 250gb of storage bht it can read up to 2 tb micro sd, i Recommend a sd card called (Next) 1 tb express, you get from best buy made specificly for the switch 2, 1 tb which can read speeds from 600 to 800mps, there is no 2 tb version yet as in this review, but 1 tb does fit, does work perfectly after the console will as you to forge it. It works. Summery: The switch 2 is no oled as this review, but it is a really good console that can play its older games, upscale them to higher resolutions with more colors and the console has a nice build to last longer when gaming. Aside of the sound, and battery being ok, which is expected the power of the console and screen being lcd 1080p draining the battery more, when phones have 4k oled. When docked it runs like a true console on tv. So with that said it's amazing console and i give it a 10/10

Pricey but worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Improved CPU and graphics really make this console a great upgrade from the OLED Switch. I really like how the controller attaches magnetically attaches to the main console. I really appreciate that most controllers from the prior generation is compatible with this one, just wished that I could use the older memory cards. While the battery life seems to be less, it’s expected for a more powerful system. Overall, this is another great console from Nintendo.

Great
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo Switch 2 Console Review The Nintendo Switch 2 is a remarkable leap forward for Nintendo’s hybrid gaming platform, successfully building on the strengths of the original Switch while addressing many of its limitations. Design & Build The Switch 2 maintains the iconic hybrid design, allowing seamless transition between handheld and docked modes. The slimmer bezels, larger 8-inch OLED display, and lighter weight make gaming on the go more comfortable and visually stunning. The new Joy-Con controllers feel sturdier and more ergonomic, with improved analog sticks that reduce drift issues. Performance Powered by an upgraded custom processor, the Switch 2 delivers smoother gameplay and faster load times. Games that previously struggled, like open-world titles, now run in 60 FPS in handheld mode and up to 4K upscaled when docked. Battery life has also been extended, averaging 6-8 hours depending on the game. Game Library & Backward Compatibility At launch, the console supports all original Switch titles and offers enhancements for select games. New first-party titles showcase the console’s power, with sharper visuals and more complex environments. The inclusion of a larger internal storage and expandable memory slot makes digital gaming much easier. Online & Features Nintendo has upgraded its online services with quicker connections, cloud saves, and better matchmaking. The new interface is cleaner and more intuitive, with improved eShop navigation. Pros: Stunning OLED display with better portability Significant performance boost and faster load times Backward compatibility with original Switch games Improved Joy-Con design and battery life Cons: Still lags behind PS5 and Xbox Series X in raw power Limited launch lineup of next-gen exclusives Verdict: The Nintendo Switch 2 is a must-have for both new and returning fans. It refines the hybrid concept to near perfection, combining portability, performance, and a growing game library in one versatile package. Rating: 9/10

Nintendo fan
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unsurprisingly I really love the Switch 2. Everything feels premium about it. Only time will tell on joy con and whether drift comes back to haunt us so far so good. I did notice problems while the unit was docked with it running hot. I haven't noticed it for a while now. I used to pull the Switch off the dock then the fan would run and clear the heat out in a good 20-30 seconds. Clearly a problem that could be fixed in a firmware update. I think there's was an update around the LAN but I'm not sure about the details. Playing Switch 1 titles is enjoyable. It runs Zelda breath of the wild and tears aof the kingdom like a hot knife through butter. This system seems very capable especially in the right hands. My biggest pet peeve is the joycons wanting to go to mouse controls. You can easily attach the joycons to the holder to avoid this. Mario kart world is a fun title. I think they might've been able to charge the same amount for just the music. The game itself is kinda awkward. I think with the world focus they missed the mail and didn't think enough of the game. The world is ok. It's a bit empty and free roam is single player unless you include online. I enjoy the balance the game offers. I do miss doing 3 lap races instead of doing intermission tracks to travel to the new track. I think knock out is a good format but I wish knockout would do random tours where you would take a random route to your destination. For the other racing modes I wish intermissions were optional. I can't say I miss Mario kart 8 deluxe but it has the tried and true formula. I didn't like the additional tracks added on with a large number coming from Mario kart tour. Right now the biggest problem facing the Nintendo Switch 2 is the lack of games. Someone asked me what I recommend and I had nothing. Many titles I play are on Switch 1 and Switch 2 plays those games beautifully. But at this point in time it's almost just a premium Switch and the games run for it the way they should've run on Switch 1 to begin with. So I think I'll rate this 4/5 since it's kinda like an assignment that was turned in late. I appreciate some of the polish here. One last comment. I understand that the screen is technically not HDR because it doesn't meet the specifications for it. This is a technicality and I found it more upsetting on paper than in person.

Amazing Nintendo product... as usual!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo again hits it out of the proverbial ballpark! The Switch 2 takes everything we loved about the Switch and kicks it up two levels. A lot of people say it's just an upgraded Switch... but in hand, it definitely feels like the next evolution in Nintendo consoles. It takes what they learned from the Switch and improve where it's needed, but keep the core experience unchanged. This is somewhat different from the usual Nintendo experience, but it maintains backwards compatibility with the thousands of Switch 1 games which is an excellent pro-customer move by Nintendo. Usually they try to sell a new system exclusive version of a franchise game. They still are with Mario Kart... but at least my old MK8, Smash Bros, Mario Odyssey, etc will all work on this system. In fact, many old games work BETTER than they ever have before. Some require a small upgrade fee, but many are just improved. Overall, this is a very affordable entry point into the world of mobile as well as console gaming. I keep mine with me wherever I go. Standing in line at the grocery store? Yup, playing Pokemon. Waiting for my wife to get off work? Playing Donkey Kong. It's a very impressive system. Don't let the degenerate Youtubers make you think otherwise. Most of them are just sour that Nintendo didn't give them free systems this time.

Worth the upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch 2 is a fantastic upgrade with a sharper screen, smoother performance, and smart design improvements that make this handheld and docked play better than ever. Backward compatibility is excellent but haven’t tried the new features like GameChat yet, so don’t have a take on that. Battery life could be better, but overall it’s a good console that’s absolutely worth it for Nintendo fans.

Nintendo Switch 2: A Brilliant Evolution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the moment you pick it up, the system feels more premium and responsive. Performance is noticeably smoother, with faster load times and sharper visuals that elevate both new releases and returning favorites. Games run more consistently, even in handheld mode, without sacrificing the portability that made the original Switch so iconic. What truly stands out is how seamless the experience feels. Backward compatibility allows existing Switch games to shine with improved stability and clarity, making the upgrade feel instantly rewarding. The improved controllers are more comfortable for longer play sessions, and subtle UI enhancements make navigating the system faster and more intuitive. Most importantly, the Switch 2 preserves Nintendo’s core strength: fun. Whether you’re playing docked on a TV with friends or curled up on the couch in handheld mode, the console delivers the same sense of joy and accessibility that defines Nintendo at its best. The Switch 2 isn’t just a successor, it’s a confident step forward. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, it’s a console that feels thoughtfully designed, future-ready, and unmistakably Nintendo.
