Switch 2 improved what was already great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very awesome how games/titles from Switch moved to the Switch 2, and Switch 2 has supported all the Switch games we already had. The Nintendo Parental Controls app synced settings to the Switch 2. The new Joy Con release triggers are much better than the Switches small button, plus the magnetic attachment rather than sliding into the rails os really cool. Screen is much bigger, its without a doubt a step up from the Switch, but still has all of the awesome characteristics, just a little refined, smooth & crisp. Alot of thought must have gone into it, having the charging port for USB-C on the bottom for docking a d then also ontop so you can comfortable play handheld while charging. Nintendo's team must have listened to customer feedback because it does show.

A Perfect Gaming Companion - 5 Stars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got the Nintendo Switch and it's exceeded all my expectations! The versatility of being able to play on my TV and then seamlessly take it on the go is absolutely game-changing. Whether I'm relaxing at home or traveling, my games come with me. The game library is fantastic - from classics like Mario and Zelda to indie gems, there's something for everyone. The Joy-Con controllers are cleverly designed and make multiplayer incredibly easy. I love that I can just hand one to a friend and instantly start playing together. The battery life is solid for portable play, and the screen is bright and vibrant. Setup was incredibly straightforward - I was playing within minutes of opening the box. The build quality feels premium and durable enough for daily use. What really stands out is how the Switch fits into my lifestyle. Quick gaming sessions during lunch breaks, epic adventures on weekend trips, or family game nights on the big screen - it handles everything beautifully. It's brought back the pure joy of gaming for me. If you're considering a Switch, don't hesitate. It's worth every penny and has become my go-to entertainment device. Highly recommended!

Best Update!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Switch 2 for a little while now, and it’s a solid step up from the original. The screen is brighter and sharper, the graphics are smoother, and the battery life is better than I expected. Games load faster and everything just feels more responsive. I really like the new Joy Cons. They feel sturdier and I haven’t had any drift so far. The handheld mode is especially nice because the system feels lighter even though the screen is bigger. If there’s anything to improve, it’s the fan noise. It’s not loud, but you can hear it during longer sessions. I also wish the internal storage was larger out of the box. Overall, though, the Switch 2 is a great upgrade. If you play a lot or you skipped the OLED model, this one feels like a real difference.

Gaming Geek
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 is everything I hoped for and more. Nintendo has truly leveled up with this console, delivering an incredible blend of innovation, performance, and pure fun. First, the upgraded visuals are absolutely stunning. Games look sharper, brighter, and more detailed than ever before. Whether I’m playing on the TV or in handheld mode, everything feels smooth and vibrant. The improved display makes colors pop, and the enhanced performance means gameplay is fluid and responsive, even in fast-paced action scenes. One of the best parts is how seamlessly it transitions between docked and handheld play. That flexibility is what makes Nintendo special, and the Switch 2 perfects it. It’s powerful enough to feel like a home console, yet portable enough to take anywhere without sacrificing quality. The updated Joy-Cons feel more refined and comfortable, with improved responsiveness and a solid build quality. Multiplayer is still an absolute blast — whether locally with friends or online, the experience is smooth and easy to set up. Load times are faster, storage is more generous, and the overall system interface feels polished and intuitive. Nintendo has clearly listened to fans and improved on everything that made the original great. Overall, the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a fantastic next-generation experience while keeping the creativity and charm Nintendo is known for. It’s powerful, versatile, and incredibly fun — easily one of the best gaming investments I’ve made.

Amazing Console for Kids & Families
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got the Switch 2 mainly for the kids, and honestly, they love it. It’s become their go-to console almost every day. The games look better, load faster, and everything just feels smoother compared to the original Switch. The new controllers are more comfortable for small hands, and it’s great that they can play both at home and on the go. Family game nights have been a lot more fun too—easy to jump in, lots of kid-friendly titles, and even adults enjoy playing along. Setup was simple, and the system feels solid and well built. Cons: The biggest downside is the battery life. In handheld mode, it doesn’t last as long as we hoped, especially with more demanding games. We usually have to keep a charger or power bank nearby. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall: Despite the battery not being great, the Switch 2 has been a huge hit in our house. The kids are happy, we’re happy, and it’s a great upgrade for families who enjoy gaming together.

Big Step Up From the Original Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Switch 2 on release day, and it’s been a great upgrade so far. In handheld mode, the screen looks brighter, sharper, and a bit larger, which makes games feel nicer to play on the go. The controllers also feel more solid and a little more premium than the older model. When I hook it up to the TV, the improvements are even clearer. The picture looks sharper, the frame rate feels smoother, and I don’t notice the little slowdowns I used to see on the first Switch. It just runs better overall. The only downside for me right now is the limited game selection, but I’m sure more titles will show up as time goes on. It did come with Mario Kart, and that has already been a lot of fun with friends and family. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using it and I’m glad I bought it.

The Next Evolution of Hybrid Gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 (released June 5, 2025, starting at $450) is not a radical reinvention, but a critical and commanding evolution of the hybrid console concept. After years of the original Switch stretching its capabilities, the Switch 2 arrives with a much-needed power boost, a gorgeous new screen, and quality-of-life improvements that make it a compelling purchase for newcomers and veterans alike. A Genuine Leap in Performance The biggest story here is the custom Nvidia Tegra T239 processor. Built on the modern Ampere architecture, this chip finally brings the Switch into the current generation of graphics. The results are immediate and transformative: in docked mode, the Switch 2 can push out up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on supporting displays, thanks to sophisticated AI upscaling technology. This means games look incredibly sharp on a big-screen TV, a monumental improvement over the original Switch's 1080p output. The upgrade isn't just about resolution; it's about fidelity. The new chip supports advanced graphics features like ray tracing, allowing for more realistic lighting and shadows, which is already apparent in launch titles like Mario Kart World. With 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, developers now have the necessary memory headroom to create experiences that simply weren't possible before. Handheld Experience Refined The console’s commitment to portable play is stronger than ever. The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch LCD display, a noticeable size increase over even the Switch OLED model. Crucially, it supports a native 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate in handheld mode, complete with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. While the shift from OLED back to LCD might disappoint some, the quality of this 120Hz LCD panel is exceptional—it’s bright, responsive, and makes games feel buttery smooth. Nintendo also addressed one of the most common complaints: the flimsy Joy-Cons. The new Joy-Con 2 controllers are now magnetically attached, offering a far more secure connection to the console and eliminating the risk of accidental slips or "wobble." The internal storage has been quadrupled to a respectable 256GB, finally giving players adequate room before needing to invest in a microSD Express card (which supports up to 2TB). Connectivity and Ecosystem The new hardware is rounded out by long-requested system features. The inclusion of native Game Chat is a huge step forward for the online experience, simplifying the process of communicating with friends. Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch Online service gets a major value bump, with the new system providing exclusive access to a library of emulated GameCube titles. The console maintains full backwards compatibility, meaning your entire library of original Switch games carries over. This seamless transition ensures there’s no gap in content, making the upgrade painless. Verdict The Nintendo Switch 2 successfully delivers on the promise of a true next-generation hybrid. It provides the power necessary to compete with modern portable rivals while preserving Nintendo’s unique focus on accessible, joyful gaming. The combination of 4K docked output, a 120Hz handheld screen, and practical refinements like magnetic Joy-Cons and increased storage makes the $450 price tag feel completely justified. If you are looking for a powerful, versatile, and instantly fun gaming console, the Switch 2 is the best option on the market.

Nintendo’s Best Yet!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another amazing system from Nintendo! Their best yet! As for games, I have medium to low expectations for Donkey Kong Bananza but am THRILLED with how vast and amazing it is! The Zelda upgrades are incredible. The system is so much better with the bigger and more beautiful scream. And the controllers are a thousand times better with the magnetic connections. This is a must have game system!

Switch 2 system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system works so nicely and well fast smoothly I really love the stand on back just don’t like how the memory chip goes into system. The mouse works good just don’t know what games it uses the controller as a mouse controller on & the controller how it snap back into the system is so different, I like it better on the old switch system when it slides into the system & holding this new switch 2 system is a bit more heavy than the old one & I like the bigger screen on the system as long as you don’t have to hold it’s good.

Amazing New Nintendo System!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another amazing release from Nintendo! My kids love the new Switch 2. The controllers are a lot easier to detach and manage so less likely to get broken during play. The graphics are amazing and definitely stand up to the other systems we have in the house. I love that they made the system backwards compatible since my family has a ton of Switch games already. This is definitely a recommended purchase especially if you have a family that loves to play games together.

An excellent successor to the Switch
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start with: my thoughts on the Switch 2 are complicated by its price and the rising prices of games in general. $450 - $500 is no small ask for the successor to the perpetually $300 - $350 Switch. I agonized over making the purchase for quite some time. Even now I can't say I'm as 'happy' with it after purchase as the Switch 1...but perhaps that has to do with the fact it feels so much like the Switch 1 at times that I forget it's the Switch 2? That is probably one of the Switch 2's greatest strengths and weaknesses for me. It feels like the Switch, but better in pretty much every way. Which isn't a problem, but the UI is also nearly identical. In some ways it's like I didn't purchase a new console at all, so it lacks that 'new console' feel. But this is hardly some major issue and more a personal hang up, I suppose. The actual device itself is excellent. Everything runs so much smoother than the original, including many games from the original Switch. The sheer backward compatibility is wonderful, as well. After so many generations of Nintendo consoles that lacked any backwards compatibility, the Switch 2 is a breath of fresh air. I've spent about as much time on older games than on the ones I purchased for Switch 2, in fact. Vampire Survivors in particular runs way better without any compatibility updates having happened. The battery life is about as expected. Not amazing on graphically intensive games, but you can squeeze a lot more out of it by playing games that take less power. Also: there's an option you can set to only charge the device to about 85 - 90%, extending the long-term life of the battery considerably. I appreciate that after my launch Switch 1's battery started dying recently. Another pleasant surprise? The new Joy-Cons. I've long loved the split controller concept, starting with the Wii and its nunchuk. I never realized how much arm straight I've had from constantly holding my hands together until then. Unfortunately, the Switch 1 Joy-Cons had a lot of issues - size being one of them, connection problems, drifting, etc. While I haven't had my Switch 2 for long enough to say if the drifting was fixed, I've had zero connection issues with the new Joy-Cons. They're also a much better size for my hand and they even feel weightier and less cheap than the originals. A huge improvement, and if they truly corrected the Joy-Con drift? Then I'll call them just about perfect for me. Uh, can't say much about the mouse controls though, haven't used them much as yet. On the downside, while you do get a decent amount of internal storage (256gb)? If you want to expand that you need SD Express cards specifically. I didn't know this and so the old SD card I used for extra storage on my Switch is useless, which means I would need to spend even more money for it. Now being fair: 256gb is significantly more than the original Switch's 32gb. And Nintendo actually knows how to use compression to get even their largest games down to about 20 gigs in size. So it's not that big of a deal, especially if you don't have a massive library. Just something to keep in mind. I got the bundle that comes with Mario Kart World too, which is a very fun game. I admit I am less into racing games and can only play piecemeal, so I had to purchase a few more games that would keep my attention better. But if you're somebody who'll get really absorbed by a Mario Kart game, this is a really good deal. Overall, I love this thing. It has its downsides, price more than anything else, but what isn't suffering price issues lately? But if you can justify the price (or save up for it), then I highly recommend it. It's a wonderful console that acts as a perfect successor to the original Switch. Just don't break your bank purchasing it, yeah?

A Fun and Powerful Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been really enjoying the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s sleek, responsive, and truly brings the joy of handheld and docked gaming together beautifully. The performance is excellent. Games load swiftly, visuals are crisp, and the system handles multitasking and large titles effortlessly. Whether navigating menus or jumping into fast-paced gameplay, the experience feels smooth and polished. Storage capacity is decent out of the box, but pure digital gamers will want to add a micro-SD card sooner rather than later. Given the high console price, I’d prefer a bit more built-in flexibility, but I appreciate that expanding storage is straightforward when needed. Controllers feel solid and responsive so far. I’m keeping an eye on potential stick drift, but at this stage, everything is working great, and the ergonomics are comfortable for extended play sessions. Joy-Con fit is a mixed bag. Compared to the OLED model, the Joy-Con 2 feel noticeably larger and more rounded. That’s totally expected given the bigger 7.9-inch screen and chunkier chassis. For my hands, it’s a bit more to grip, but not uncomfortable, in fact, the size contributes to a more substantial, premium feel. It’s a fair trade-off. Extra breadth adds heft, but also makes the controls feel more solid and intentional. Mario Kart World is where my main frustrations lie. The game leans heavily on “intermission” tracks. Long, straight cross-country connections that feel more like filler than fun. They break the flow of actual racing, replacing the classic three-lap circuits that made the series iconic. Before a recent patch, “Random” votes in online mode reliably brought back traditional multi-lap races. Now, “Random” often selects these intermission tracks instead, making three-lap races rare unless you play via friend-only or custom lobbies. Community feedback has been loud: many players find three-lap tracks more engaging and better designed, while intermissions feel generic and repetitive. It seems Nintendo is prioritizing the open-world structure, even if it comes at the expense of player choice and the classic race experience.

Step in the right direction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even with the price, I still find this a great step in right direction for Nintendo. The only thing I wish they had done differently, is change the UI but that can always be addressed with updates. The actual hardware itself has been great. Size of the screen, joycons are a better improvement over the Switch 1, and everything is much faster compared to Switch 1

Solid Upgrade From Switch 1
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, spent some good time with the Switch 2, and here's the lowdown: It still feels like a Switch, just a bit bigger and more solid. The 1080p, 120Hz screen is a clear upgrade, making games look sharper and smoother. Those new magnetic Joy-Cons are awesome – super satisfying to attach, and they feel much more secure. Performance-wise, it's definitely got more power. Games run smoother, and everything feels snappier. It's not a powerhouse like other consoles, but it's a huge step up for portable gaming. Should you upgrade? If you have the original Switch, yes, definitely. If you've got an OLED, it's still a really nice upgrade for the performance and new features, but maybe not a total must-have. Basically, it's everything good about the Switch, just... better.
