The Nintendo Switch 2 is the upgrade we've all been asking for and it's finally here. The ergonomics for larger hands are significantly better than its predecessor. The color scheme is quite tame, but the build quality overall is much more refined and doesn't feel like a cheaper toy. Nintendo did it right this time around. The display leaves me wanting to play Nintendo releases in handheld as if they're optimized more for the console and not the TV, which is shocking because before I felt it was the other way around. It runs really well on our LG 4K OLED with HDR. My favorite part is the screen size and the joy cons. The joy cons just feel so much better. Buttons aren't loose, everything's firm, it feels premier. We haven't experienced any issues with the console since release and expect to run this thing into the ground for the next decade. If you are on the fence and have an original Nintendo Switch, I'd say it's a great investment. I would trade in you console and pick one of these up to continue the journey with Nintendo's NS2 specific releases. If you have an NS OLED, that would be harder for me, but I came from the OLED and it feels like a noticeable upgrade. I do not miss my OLED at all as this console feels like jumping from a Gamecube and playing an Xbox Series X. Nintendo nailed it. Mario Kart World, it's tons of fun. It's just a racing game, so it's not like it's a massive title like Super Mario Odyssey or Donkey Kong Bananza, but it's worth having in the collection since we all play Mario Kart. Loads of fun and collectibles

For me… i’m replaying some of the older games that I found really hard to play due to the OG switch’s limitations- and I’m having such a fun time playing them. The only issue I’m having is that the switch doesn’t necessarily work with my HDMI - CEC funcionality, and controllers that I’ve used in the past with my original switch. Do not turn on the console. Overall, I’m loving this new switch.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a massive glow-up from the OG—sleeker design, a vibrant 7.9″ 1080p HDR‑120 Hz screen, and boost in performance thanks to its custom Nvidia chip that nails 4K docked and buttery handheld gameplay . Joy‑Con 2’s magnetic grip, mouse‑mode, and GameChat add mad convenience and social vibes . Battery holds up solidly all day, and with 256 GB onboard, you’re good to go. Backward‑compatibility plus launch titles like Mario Kart World seal the deal. Worth every penny!

Well made and i haven’t had any problems with it. The joycon magnets definitely make it feel more solid than the Switch. I can play off the dock for a couple of hours before I have to recharge it. The screen size is much easier on the eyes. I’ve only played 2 exclusive Switch 2 titles so far: Mario Kart World and DK Bananza. I can’t say that it has blown my socks off, performace wise, but I do notice better performance.

This should have been the Switch originally. Nintendo is lucky this is still what I am looking for in a portable console. It’s better in every way from the original. Game fidelity is finally acceptable. Screen quality is finally acceptable. Happy to have this console. For many who enjoyed the original Switch, this will not be as compelling of an upgrade, but for those of us who had issues with the original, this console is amazing and fixes everything wrong with the original.

This is as good as it gets, or at least so far! The graphics and screen refresh are unparalleled, and the handheld screen is huge! I will say that the back door where the chords connect to the dock are a bit clunky, but it’s a minor issue at best.

The console came in great condition, and had over half of a battery left to set the device up quickly. It came with plenty of instructions, and each piece was individually wrapped and sectioned off inside the box. The device is light, made of a very smooth and rigid plastic and the screen is very bright once you turn off the automatic brightness settings. The Joycon 2s are very comfortable now that they are taller and wider than the first Joycons on the original Switch models. The HD Rumble 2 is on par with the Taptic Engine features on an iPhone but aren’t quite as strong as the phone motors, but it’s definitely a finer and more clicky type of rumble which is nice. The battery life is my only gripe, with about 2.5 hours of feasible gameplay if I manage the brightness in Mario Kart World and play with some headphones. Get a case or a screen protector because the screens scratch very easily unfortunately.

Bought it to play the new Mario Kart World, as well as play Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild at a higher framerate/resolution. Plays games flawlessly and everything feels very premium. My only downsides are the screen (It ghosts a very small bit but is not a dealbreaker.) and the battery life (It doesn’t last a long time, but comparable to launch Switch 1 as well as pc handhelds like the Asus Rog Ally and the Steam Deck.)

The system is an upgrade in every way, even with the screen not being OLED. The battery life from what I’ve seen so far has improved. The screen has improved like I said, even with it not being oled. It’s a big difference having this much screen and then when it’s stopped, I was playing Zelda in 4K over the weekend and my God. Even the joy cons I haven’t charged yet so the battery on them has been working very well too. If You can get your hands on and you like Nintendo this is a must buy.

Was looking forward to this for a long time, and it did not disappoint. it’s a much better version of the 1st Nintendo Switch, with better performance, build quality, screen, and much more. Plus, Mariokart World is a ton of fun and it’s packed with many things to do. 10/10

Better Picture, Better Storage, Better Overall

The Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t a radical reinvention, but it’s the kind of steady, smart upgrade longtime fans were waiting for. From improved visuals to expanded storage and refined controls, it feels like a more polished, future-proofed version of the original hybrid console. **Display & Visuals** The biggest everyday difference comes from the new OLED+ screen. Games look crisper, colors pop more vibrantly, and there’s noticeably less motion blur in fast-paced titles. Whether docked or handheld, the Switch 2 pushes higher resolutions and smoother frame rates, especially with first-party games optimized for the new hardware. **Storage & Performance** Nintendo finally addressed one of the original Switch’s biggest pain points: storage. With a default 256GB internal memory, most players won’t immediately feel forced to buy a microSD card. Load times are quicker, thanks to both the upgraded processor and faster internal memory, making switching between games and apps feel much snappier. **Battery & Build** Battery life holds up surprisingly well, considering the performance jump. On average, I got around 5–6 hours playing games like Tears of the Kingdom. The console feels sturdier too—joy-con drift hasn’t been an issue so far, and the new magnetic kickstand is genuinely useful. **Final Thoughts** If you already have a Switch OLED and mostly play docked, this may feel like a minor step up. But for handheld-first players or those still using the launch model, Switch 2 feels like what the original Switch always wanted to be: better picture, better storage, better overall.

My daughter has been saving up for this. She got over halfway and asked if I could put in the rest for a birthday present. So I did. She absolutely loves it! The handheld is bigger than the old one. Tge graphics are awesome on the tv. It loads a lot faster as well. After seeing how great it is now I want one too.

Long overdue upgrade to the Nintendo Switch! Some say it's too expensive. But considering how the original Switch was around for nearly a decade, I'd say it's a pretty good deal if you break it down to a year-by-year cost! While the new system doesn't break a whole lot of new ground, aside from the mouse controls that might be used by some games, the upgrades keep Nintendo up to date with the most essential new TV and video game graphics technology. Playing more advanced games on the go, with a larger and much-improved screen from the original Switch is great. I also love that it's backward compatible with games and controllers from the original Switch! I suddenly have a great four-player setup thanks to the ability to use my old Joy-Cons. The bundled Mario Kart World is a perfect escape from today's reality. There's so much going on in each course, it's like playing an amusement park ride. Of course, the real test will be how good the games not yet released will be. So far indications are good we'll have some winners. I'm looking forward to Donkey Kong Bananza and Metroid Prime 4, among others. Nintendo's got a good track record, so fans of their games likely have nothing to worry about.

Switch 2 Review from a Buyer

The Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World is a no-brainer pickup for anyone looking to buy both. The bundle comes with everything plus a digital download code and is very worth priced. The game is super fun and actually really well made. The console is a good upgrade tech wise and is well made in quality. While the graphics may not be a PS5 or Xbox Series quality, the handheld is super impressive for being not that big and with backwards compatibility, makes a good pickup. The console is impressive for the size, and compared to others on the market, portability is appreciated and therefore justified the price for me. Overall, i would recommend this console to people who are fans and need it. If you dont want it now, a price drop or sale would justify a pickup later on if you don't plan on purchasing now.

Such an upgrade compared to my switch oled. Loading times, graphics, bigger screen and controls and l so much more. Play switch 1 games so much better. If you are on the fence just do it you won't regret it. Now that the switch oled has a price increase just pay the extra for the switch 2. Or if you have an oled just sell it and covee some of the cost of the switch 2.

Much larger than I had expected when compared to original switch. Controllers that snap on and off is 100% better as well. Compatible with original games was so important. Really think this is an amazing upgrade and though it's a bit pricey, i feel it's worth it if you're invested in the switch already.

The console is a direct improvement over the original. More base memory; bigger screen; dual plugs for charging and accessories; and better performance. Everything that the original Nintendo Switch was, the Switch 2 is better at. A definite must buy if you enjoy Nintendo games.

it’s only been a bit over a week since release and i find the NS2 to be really nice. all of the switch games that might have run a little funny (like certain parts in the newest zeldas) run beautifully on this even if you don’t get the game upgrade. the screen is bigger and brighter and the joycons are much sturdier feeling. i have no complaints and i don’t expect to have any for a while, if at all. if you like the switch - this one is def a good upgrade.
