Review: Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundl

Nintendo has done it again, combining the release of its next-generation console, the Nintendo Switch 2, with a killer app to match: Mario Kart World. This bundle is the ultimate introduction to Nintendo’s powerful new system, packing everything you need to dive into an exhilarating and renewed gaming experience. With hardware upgrades, enhanced visuals, and the multiplayer madness of Mario Kart, this bundle sets the gold standard for the next era of gaming. The Nintendo Switch 2 Hardware The Nintendo Switch 2 lives up to its promises and then some. With improved performance thanks to a custom Nvidia chipset, the console offers 4K resolution in docked mode and an OLED screen for handheld play. The visuals are crisp, vibrant, and smooth with frame rates up to 60 FPS — a huge leap from its predecessor. Load times have also been drastically reduced, and players will immediately notice the seamless transition when docking and undocking the console from its TV mode. A much-requested feature — improved Joy-Con design — has been implemented, featuring more ergonomic grips and drift-free analog sticks that feel durable and precise. Battery life also sees a notable improvement, allowing for longer gaming sessions in handheld mode, and the console’s rear kickstand has been redesigned to offer a wider, more stable base. Overall, the Switch 2 hardware exudes quality, making it clear that Nintendo has taken years of player feedback to heart. Mario Kart World: Racing Perfection The standout of this bundle is undoubtedly Mario Kart World, the latest entry in the legendary racing franchise. Expanding on the formula of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this game offers an incredible graphical overhaul with hyper-realistic tracks, dynamic weather systems, and even more detailed character animations. The courses are varied and exciting, with some of the series’ greatest tracks reimagined alongside new global-themed racetracks inspired by cities like Tokyo, Paris, New York, and Sydney. Mario Kart World truly shines with its revamped multiplayer mode. The game features a new online World Tour mode, where players can compete in global tournaments and weekly challenges for rewards and bragging rights. The addition of customizable vehicles and characters allows even greater personalization, while new power-ups and items keep every race feeling fresh and unpredictable. For the more serious crowd, Nintendo has included an intriguing skill-based Ranked Mode for competitive online play. For those who prefer local multiplayer, the Switch 2’s updated hardware doesn’t disappoint. The hardware’s enhanced Bluetooth capabilities ensure a seamless connection for up to eight players locally, and the OLED screen provides improved shared-screen experiences when playing in tabletop mode. The Bundle Value What sets this package apart is the extra value it offers. The Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle includes the console itself, upgraded Joy-Cons, and a physical or digital copy of Mario Kart World, all for a slight discount compared to purchasing everything separately. To sweeten the deal, Nintendo has also added some bonus perks, including exclusive in-game content: a stylish new kart, a one-month free trial of Nintendo Switch Online+, and custom Joy-Con grips featuring a Mario and Yoshi design for the ultimate themed experience. What’s Not So Perfect As with any new console bundle, the price is likely to be a bit steep, especially for players upgrading from the existing Switch. While Mario Kart World is a phenomenal showcase for the system, it’s still an iteration on an already polished formula, and some fans might be craving a greater leap in innovation. Additionally, supply constraints could make this bundle tricky to get your hands on during its initial launch. Conclusion The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle is a standout starting point for gamers diving into Nintendo’s latest generation of gaming. Packed with hardware improvements, enhanced portability, and the endlessly fun racing experience of Mario Kart World, it’s a bundle that delivers both value and excitement. Existing Switch users may hesitate to upgrade, but the improved visuals, faster performance, and new features make this bundle a strong contender for gamers ready to step into Nintendo’s next chapter.

Larger screen and faster than my original Switch. Paired it with Satisfy hand grip and carrying case. Nice to update Zelda BOTW and TOK for only $10 each on the Nintendo Website to be able to use the Companion App. Happy Days !

Im a light gamer who plays short games often. But i enjoy playing single player games including Zelda (botw & totk) when i have time for myself. The switch 2 is a great option to upgrade from switch lite which i used to play for a while (since 2019) i give it some time till the new games come out, and its best console for playing backwards compatible games. Other than the pricetag, i have no complaints on switch 2. I play cyberpunk on handheld and i love the mouse control option. I would recommend to someone who never owned a switch and plan to get a handheld that can play classic nintendo games (nintendo online sold separately)

My children wanted it so much, so I bought it as a Christmas present. The large screen, comfortable joystick, and beautiful design are outstanding. The Mario Kart bundle pack made it the perfect Christmas gift.

Improves on the Switch 1's major flaws. Bigger, more comfortable to hold, brighter screen (though still not an OLED by default). Magnetic Joy-Cons reduce risk of hardware failure and are more comfortable to use. Performance is consistently strong, but battery life leaves something to be desired.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a fantastic evolution of the original hybrid console. It keeps the versatility we loved seamlessly switching between handheld and docked modes but with noticeable upgrades. The improved graphics, faster load times, and longer battery life make gaming smoother and more immersive than ever. Joy-Con improvements fix many of the issues fans had with drift, and the enhanced screen quality makes handheld mode truly shine. Whether you’re revisiting classic titles or diving into new releases, the Switch 2 feels like the console the original always wanted to be.

Disregard anyone telling you the Switch 2 isn't worth it. I think it is. It improves from the Switch 1 very well. Everything looks great on it and everything is faster on it. The joycons and the system itself are bigger. That is a plus to me.

Upgrading and improving the previous generation of the Switch family, the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers better performance (most games now run at a steady 60FPS) and a higher resolution. The console’s handheld screen has grown a bit and the Joycons have also been redesigned. The dock also got a new design which keeps the console cool under load. Some new features such as chat and video chat have been added as well. The Switch 2 takes the best of the Switch 1 and makes it better.

Nintendo Switch but bigger and more powerful. Battery life with the new Switch 2 only games isn’t great. You get about 2 hours of play time, but that’s enough for a solid gaming session before you have to charge it again. The console feels premium and looks great. It’s the switch, but better!

Honestly a great product. I love being able to play games like Madden on the switch 2! Games load and play a lot better at least for me. But playing it while it's on the dock it tends to get pretty warm.

What the switch 1 should’ve been

So much better than the switch 1 in every conceivable way, the e shop isn’t laggy anymore, games feel more responsive, screen and controllers are bigger, a great evolution to the switch. Only downside is the 256gb storage capacity, while a big step up from switch 1 it’s still not enough, games are getting bigger and with the switch 2 being able to handle more powerful games, the games are gonn quickly eat that storage forcing you to get a micro sd card.

It's a great device. Little heavier than the previous model. I've noticed my wrists hurt after a shorter period of time. Otherwise love the display. Mario world tour is an awesome game.

This is an excellent upgrade from the Switch 1. Mario Kart World is well worth it as an included game. The Switch 2 upgrades of games such as both Zelda games play much better and look sharper with the upgraded hardware. The only knock I have is 256 GB is too small of storage, if Nintendo is going to take the approach of wanting to go all digital with their games. If the expectations are to buy additional storage, then they should've opted for Mico SD instead of the new standard Micro SD Express, that's way more expensive for less storage.

I have been loving this console. Handheld and dock modes are both greatly improved with better graphics and smoother performance. One downside is the battery life is not great when playing in handheld mode. Don’t expect to play longer than 2-3 hours on a full charge. Nintendo played it safe with this next gen console but that is not a bad thing. They have consistently put out great games and the improved third party support is refreshing. Can’t wait to see what the next few years has in store for this new gen console!

The Nintendo Switch 2 has amazing build quality (minus the protective film causing me very light scratches :c) especially when compared to the original Nintendo Switch. This gives me the same premium feeling I had when I first got my PS Vita near launch. Revisiting older titles like Batman Arkham Knight has really impressed me as well considering the game ran horribly on Switch 1. On Switch 2 it runs perfectly at a capped 30 FPS but still looks less than stellar because y'know still a Switch 1 port of a PS4 game lol. Mario Kart World is amazing and the perfect switch up from the standard Mario Kart release It might be my favorite in the entire franchise honestly. All in a;; the Switch 2 is definitely a worthy upgrade from the original Nintendo Switch system and I just bought a screen protector that will hopefully cover up those micro scratches.

The Switch 2 is a solid upgrade in terms of hardware — it runs smoother, looks sharper, and keeps that signature hybrid design that made the original such a hit. If you’ve got a huge backlog of Switch games, this is definitely the best way to play them. Games load faster, frame drops are less of a problem, and older titles feel fresh with the performance boost. But when it comes to new games? That’s where things start to feel a little underwhelming. The launch lineup isn’t very exciting, and first-party releases are pretty thin at the moment. It feels like Nintendo is still holding back their heavy hitters, and third-party support hasn’t taken full advantage of the upgraded specs just yet. The Bottom Line: If you’ve missed out on the original Switch library or want to replay classics with better performance, the Switch 2 is a great pick. But if you’re hoping for a flood of new, next-gen Nintendo experiences right now, you might want to hold off a bit.
