The device is okay at what it does but there are some problems I would like to point out. The screen scratches very easily, anything will scratch it, even a microfiber cloth. The handheld mode is uncomfortable to hold for extended amounts of time. Its too large and the joycons aren’t grippy, just flat and without gripping definition. Overall, I am disappointed given the price point of this device.

The nintendo switch 2 is absolutely not a game changer right now. Maybe if you could play xbox games, or stream steam games to it, it would be. Knowing Nintendo it does not seem likely.

There seems to be more benefits for waiting for sw2. Mainly was unimpressed for the lack of integrity on joy cons. Upgrade casing needed.

Is a solid platform just a little behind the other competition by a year or two

While the hardware is not bad, in fact it's amazing. According to Nintendo's terms of service you do not own it and they can ban you whenever they feel like. my family and I love playing Mario kart world. My first Nintendo switch 2 got permanently banned. When calling Nintendo support they could not explain why. We always use Nintendo only products. The only possibility we could think of was a USB receiver for a Steel Series Nova 7x headset, which didn't seem to work other than the microphone. However this is a headset, they claimed I'd somehow modified the console... I don't even know how to do that. I am/did order another Nintendo switch 2 because we love Nintendo games, however Nintendo needs to resolve this issue with permanent bans. A three strike rule or something, but to get banned and them not to be able to tell you why is ridiculous. After 2 hours on the phone with Nintendo they did not even have an appeal option and the representative was like a broken record stating they can't do anything it's Nintendo Japan their parent company. That being said, be very careful what you plug into your Nintendo switch 2. Make sure anything you plug into it is Nintendo certified or you will be blindsided like us with no recourse.

Although I don’t agree with Nintendos policies and changes in this upgrade of handle consoles. It meets every expectation. Just wished Nintendo wasn’t so money hungry and kept things within reason

My kids are enjoying the Switch 2 and the new games. The old games run better and some have upgrades to make them look fresh compared to the Switch 1.
