Mario Kart World bundle has been a blast! The console’s 7.9″ vibrant screen and powerful hardware make games look great in handheld and docked modes, and performance is smooth whether you’re racing or exploring other titles. Mario Kart World is a fun, fresh take on the classic racing series with seamless world design and up to 24‑player races that keep every session exciting. The included Joy‑Con 2 controllers feel comfortable, and the overall package delivers excellent value. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a versatile gaming system with a great launch title

As a long time Playstation owner, I was pleasantly surprised by the Switch 2 - it's got more going for it than I would have thought. My partner and I have had a blast playing Mario Kart World and DK Banaza. Games look great, play great, and the portability factor is a plus. Would definitely recommend it you are looking to play games on the go, or if you want to play with younger family members. Nintendo commitment to quality shines through.

I LOVE my switch 2. The negative hype is beyond wild when you look at the specs and price. $450 for a console more powerful than a steam deck for virtually the same price. I could finally play games like Pokemon Violet and TotK without terrible load time and glitches. Mario Kart World is… fine. Not my favorite switch 2 game and def not one to show off the full capabilities. DK is much better at that and I’m excited to see the differences in the new games to come. Handheld mode is a true winner. While not as rich of a screen like the OLED switch, def a huge bonus in screen size and smoothness of pixels, which in turn, doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Anyway, if you’ve been teetering, wait for more games if you want, but if replaying some older games with the updates (since if you have a Nintendo subscription they are free) sounds appeasing, pull the trigger. That’s what I’ve been doing and already logged 200+ hours into the console.

Me and my partner got it as a gift for ourselves and have been enjoying it ever since. We're both out and about often so being able to kill time with games on the go or to other people's places with ease. Me personally it's what I was looking for in the first switch: better performance, better screen, and bigger form factor as the og switch was too small for my hands and cramped after half an hour of playtime.

What We Wanted But Not Perfect

The Switch 2 is everything the fans asked for. It's more powerful, has more built-in storage, a second usb-c port, and a larger screen. It also includes some things that the fans didn't ask for: 120 HZ refresh rate screen with variable refresh rate, magnetically attached joy-cons, mouse-mode in the joy-cons. Those are nice bonuses for sure and everyone is going to rave about those features, so let's talk about the not so good. A larger screen results in a larger, heavier system. That's fine for a console that sits in a dock on your TV stand. But for something handheld, it causes fatigue just a bit faster than the previous Switch. Nintendo also did nothing to help the ergonomics again, and if you didn't need grips on the last Switch, you might find you do this time. More power and a high refresh rate screen both mean much more battery consumption. So, unfortunately, you're losing a significant amount of battery life in comparison to the most recent Switch - the OLED, and even the outgoing "version 2" LCD Switch has about 30% more battery life. Finally, the new Switch 2 has much more built-in storage, but 256 gb is absolutely not enough in 2025 when other consoles come with 1 or 2 tb and a single game can be 250 gb. Hence, you will likely need to buy a MicroSD card. Unfortunately, you can't use any you had for your original Switch, as the new model requires MicroSD Express, a much faster - yet MUCH more expensive - format. Overall, it's a fantastic piece of hardware, and the power is amazing for a handheld in this price range. Nintendo had a change to knock it out of the park, but part of the shortcomings are inherent to the limits of technology today, and partly bad design decisions. I'll enjoy mine, but if they release a "lite" version that's the size and weight of the original Switch, I will be trading in for that one!

This Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart bundle exceeded my expectations! The improved hardware feels noticeably faster with crisp visuals, and Mario Kart loads quickly and runs super smooth. The Joy-Cons have great responsiveness with minimal drift — definitely an upgrade. I love the versatility of docking it to play on my TV or using it handheld. Battery life easily lasts through long sessions. Great bundle, especially with Mario Kart included!

I like the new size for the Switch and the magnetic Joy Cons. Much easier and user friendly than needing to slide them on and off. The bundle is the way to go if you are a Mario Kart fan. You are saving $30 off the regular price of the game. The graphics are good, but I don't notice much of a difference. Sound is better as well.

The switch 2 is not miles but lightyears a head of the switch 1 in terms of overall enjoy ability thanks to a number of changes such as the larger and sharper display, the extremely satisfying snap due to the magnetic catch and release of the joycon 2, and is given tons of storage compared to the switch 1 which allows you even more time to buy the optional expansion (if need be) allows you to enjoy more games at once before needing to delete any content or upgrade with and express micro so card. Those are only a few pros to name along with my ONLY CON about the console, which would be its heavier weight in comparison to the original switch but can be easily forgotten while using in hand held, largely due to the benefits of all the PROS! This console has been extremely enjoyable with family, friends, and especially on the go!

I have really enjoyed playing with my nintendo switch 2! The screen size and graphics are amazing! As a novice gamer, this is fantastic. I will say that my only complaint is that the console becomes heavy on my hands while I am playing, but overall the experience has been great.

Wasn't going to upgrade because we already have both Switch and Switch OLED, but the games feel much smoother, the design is better (hated old kickstand). Christmas gift was just the excuse to purchase. Remember that your old controllers still work, they just can't physically slide on so you have to charge separately. You also need to get a new case as the size is significantly different. Don't expect old Dock to work, and you should also switch out HDMI cord if still using old one.

So to start this is my first switch, so i dont have anything to compare it to. As far as first times go, this has blown me away. Performance is great, and the screen looks really good. The battery life has been a bit annoying as I usally run out before I’m done with a gaming session, but it is what it is.

Picked up the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle for launch weekend and it’s been a home run for our household. The console feels like everything I loved about the original Switch, just faster, sleeker, and more stable. Setup took about 10 minutes, and transferring our profiles and saves was painless. The new screen looks fantastic in handheld—colors pop and outdoor glare is noticeably better—and docked play feels smoother with snappier load times. As for Mario Kart World: instant classic. The track variety is wild, the new mechanics add depth without scaring off younger players, and online races have been rock solid so far. Local multiplayer still shines—four Joy-Cons, a couch, and chaos in the best way. This bundle basically gives you the party game you’ll play for years on day one.

    Sturdier, Faster, Still on Probation

Let’s get one thing straight — I bought the original Switch, enjoyed it for a solid month, and fully intended to return it… but the wife disagreed so we kept it under mild emotional duress. Fast forward to the Switch 2, and this time, I gave it a shot willingly. Here’s the breakdown from someone who returns literally everything: Performance: Noticeably smoother. I booted up a Mario game and didn’t hear the fan scream like it was doing CrossFit. Frame rates? Solid. My kids noticed, which is wild because they didn’t notice when I got new floors. Screen: It’s sharper than the original and easier on the eyes, even if it’s not OLED. Still, looks good enough to get roasted by in-game characters in high clarity. Battery life: Respectable. Won’t power a road trip, but will survive a few Fortnite tantrums before collapsing. Joy-Cons 2.0: They feel sturdier, but I’m still side-eyeing them like they owe me child support. No drift yet… but I’ve been hurt before. Price + Games: The console isn’t cheap, and the game prices? Might put you in a light financial coma. $70 to get stomped by 8-year-olds in Mario Kart feels personal. Final verdict: Did I try to find reasons to return it? Yes. Did I actually return it? No. That’s basically a standing ovation coming from me. If you’ve got the budget and the nostalgia, the Switch 2 is worth it. Just remember to hide it from your kids until you’ve had a chance to play once.

An excellent successor to the Switch

To start with: my thoughts on the Switch 2 are complicated by its price and the rising prices of games in general. $450 - $500 is no small ask for the successor to the perpetually $300 - $350 Switch. I agonized over making the purchase for quite some time. Even now I can't say I'm as 'happy' with it after purchase as the Switch 1...but perhaps that has to do with the fact it feels so much like the Switch 1 at times that I forget it's the Switch 2? That is probably one of the Switch 2's greatest strengths and weaknesses for me. It feels like the Switch, but better in pretty much every way. Which isn't a problem, but the UI is also nearly identical. In some ways it's like I didn't purchase a new console at all, so it lacks that 'new console' feel. But this is hardly some major issue and more a personal hang up, I suppose. The actual device itself is excellent. Everything runs so much smoother than the original, including many games from the original Switch. The sheer backward compatibility is wonderful, as well. After so many generations of Nintendo consoles that lacked any backwards compatibility, the Switch 2 is a breath of fresh air. I've spent about as much time on older games than on the ones I purchased for Switch 2, in fact. Vampire Survivors in particular runs way better without any compatibility updates having happened. The battery life is about as expected. Not amazing on graphically intensive games, but you can squeeze a lot more out of it by playing games that take less power. Also: there's an option you can set to only charge the device to about 85 - 90%, extending the long-term life of the battery considerably. I appreciate that after my launch Switch 1's battery started dying recently. Another pleasant surprise? The new Joy-Cons. I've long loved the split controller concept, starting with the Wii and its nunchuk. I never realized how much arm straight I've had from constantly holding my hands together until then. Unfortunately, the Switch 1 Joy-Cons had a lot of issues - size being one of them, connection problems, drifting, etc. While I haven't had my Switch 2 for long enough to say if the drifting was fixed, I've had zero connection issues with the new Joy-Cons. They're also a much better size for my hand and they even feel weightier and less cheap than the originals. A huge improvement, and if they truly corrected the Joy-Con drift? Then I'll call them just about perfect for me. Uh, can't say much about the mouse controls though, haven't used them much as yet. On the downside, while you do get a decent amount of internal storage (256gb)? If you want to expand that you need SD Express cards specifically. I didn't know this and so the old SD card I used for extra storage on my Switch is useless, which means I would need to spend even more money for it. Now being fair: 256gb is significantly more than the original Switch's 32gb. And Nintendo actually knows how to use compression to get even their largest games down to about 20 gigs in size. So it's not that big of a deal, especially if you don't have a massive library. Just something to keep in mind. I got the bundle that comes with Mario Kart World too, which is a very fun game. I admit I am less into racing games and can only play piecemeal, so I had to purchase a few more games that would keep my attention better. But if you're somebody who'll get really absorbed by a Mario Kart game, this is a really good deal. Overall, I love this thing. It has its downsides, price more than anything else, but what isn't suffering price issues lately? But if you can justify the price (or save up for it), then I highly recommend it. It's a wonderful console that acts as a perfect successor to the original Switch. Just don't break your bank purchasing it, yeah?

Was looking for one but hadn't been able to find one for a month since launch. All of a sudden on my birthday I got an email from best buy saying they had some so I immediately ordered one. Upon unboxing you could tell they stepped the feel up a notch and the console itself is quite a bit bigger than the OLED and the v1 that I had previously. After setting up and installing my screen protector I discovered that the right joycon had no vertical movement. I took the console to the store and they had me return the whole thing. The experience with the guy was a little rocky at first, he seemed cranky and hesitant to help me. But when I returned with all the parts and pieces his tune had completely shifted and he was pleasant and helpful. Even let me get another screen protector without additional cost. I've now got over 20 hours on my switch 2 and I've gotta say it's great.

This console is so cool! I am a Minecraft lover and was surprised to see how well it runs. It’s a strong game and I think the switch works really well. Even for other games like Mario kart. I enjoy it. I take it to work with me to play on my breaks. I know it’s made for kids mainly but I am 25 and love my switch 2! Graphics are crisp. Sound it good. It’s bigger than the OG switch which is nice.

I was going to hold off on the Switch 2 until some reviews accumulated but, it went on sale just before Christmas and couldn't resist. Nintendo has some strict do's and don't's with their consoles aimed against any unofficial modifications and such. It could brick your system, but I never do mods, so I'm good there. Even if you play with the Switch 2 docked, like me, be sure to get a tempured glass screen protector because the Swtich 2 has a light protective film on the LCD that can scratch very easily. Game play is smooth and and beautiful. No functional issues whatsoever. You will need more storage eventually, and the only compatible SD cards are the NEW Micro SD "Exress" cards. Normal micro SD cards will not be recognized, including the one from your original Switch. These "Express" cards are on the expensive side, so maybe hold off until they come down in price or absolutely need one. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, but these consolest's are just getting too expensive for me. Game purchases will be slow and selective and most likely, only while on discount. Regardless of any slight negatives, every second of use is enjoyable!
