I bought it for my 9yo and he's happy with it. Compared to the first Switch, this one is bigger and the picture quality looks better. I don't know much about it but everyone plays it and its great when you have family over. One of the things my kid likes about it is the way the controllers snap of instead of sliding off. Overall fun, but i also heard if you use third party attachments it could disable the switch and games are only digital???

Bigger, Blacker, and necessary if you want to play any of the new games. Which we did. There are no great changes except the screen is bigger and the default controllers are black. It feels more like enough time has passed since the original came out and someone at Nintendo wanted a yacht. If you’re looking for reviews on if the Switch 2 is worth it there are some great deep dives a quick Google search away. If you want one and can afford it, just buy it, you’re going to anyway.

The screen size and quality is a big improvement. Howver, battery life is pretty short. I’m home all the time so it doesn’t bother me. I bought it for Pokopia but I’m enjoying regular Switch games on it as well.

Love my switch 2. My OLED was stolen while working out of town and I waited for the 2 release. It runs so smoothly and is a great size. I highly recommend for a chill portable gaming system

The Nintendo Switch 2 is the rare sequel that actually feels like it respects your time, your eyes, and your existing game library—all at once. From the moment I powered it on, the upgrade over the original Switch was obvious. The 7.9" 1080p HDR screen is bright, crisp, and big enough that feels like a true “main” way to play, not a compromise for when you’re away from the TV. Colors pop, fine details in games are suddenly visible, and text is comfortably readable without squinting. Docking to the 4K TV makes it feel like an entirely new era for Nintendo, not just another refresh. Nintendo nailed the hardware details. Controllers slide on magnetically with a satisfying click, feel more solid in the hand. What really makes this system shine is how load times and frame rates are dramatically better than the original Switch. At the same time, it still plays compatible physical and digital Switch games, and some of those even get upgrade packs or performance bumps, so your existing library doesn’t become obsolete—it actually feels refreshed. Exclusives like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza would show off what the new hardware can do, and it’s exciting to know this is just the starting point for the generation. In short, Nintendo Switch 2 is exactly what I hoped for: a true next‑step Switch that keeps everything I loved about the original while making it faster, sharper, and more fun to share with others. If you’ve spent years with the first Switch, this feels like seeing your favorite worlds again with new eyes—and if you’re jumping in for the first time, there’s no better way to experience Nintendo’s games today.

    A great console so far…

So far, so good. I’m enjoying this console. I like the size of the Switch 2, especially compared to the original Switch, especially since I’m mostly playing handheld. I haven’t docked it to the TV yet, so I can’t comment there. The few Switch games I’ve tried so far (well, really just Pokemon Scarlet) are running far smoother on this console than the last. I can’t comment on battery life yet because I haven’t had a chance to play for long. I have also heard that JoyCon drift is still an issue, and I’m hoping I don’t experience that. Nintendo really has no excuse to have not fixed that WELL known issue after all this time. As an aside, I think the $450 price tag is fine for what the product is, and that price isn’t what bothers me… but I don’t plan to go buy any $80 games all willy-nilly. There is no way that Mario Kart World is worth $80. And the game key cards for 3rd party are a terrible idea. I will basically be using this console only for first party Nintendo games and the online services (eagerly awaiting the GameCube Online to add the Pokemon Colosseum and XD games). I will save any new third-party games for my PC.

Big upgrade compared to the switch oled. Runs quicker and smoother and bigger screen but still has to buy a handles for the joycons because they still feel small in my hands

    To Upgrade or Not?

I must admit, I was very skeptical when making the decision to upgrade from my original Switch, however, I can honestly say that the Switch 2 is a large enough upgrade over its predecessor to justify the purchase. Pros: The Switch 2 looks incredible. The larger screen and joycons are comfortable in the hand, and the power on this system is something I never thought I would see out of a Nintendo console. After purchasing Switch 2 upgrades, Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda, and even games without upgrades look and feel incredible on this console. I have really enjoyed playing things docked to unlock the full potential with this system. Cons: I'm still on the fence about the magnetic joycon connection. The joycons feel not quite as sturdy when playing in handheld, and I always feel nervous that I'm going to damage the electronics, however, that may just be me being overly worried. Although I primarily played docked on the original Switch, I find myself using the Switch 2 in handheld mode more. The issue is the battery life. When playing Breath of the Wild or even Animal Crossing, the battery depletes much faster than I would have liked, however, it's not a huge selling point for me considering I don't travel with it much. Be aware if you are someone who travels with your Switch. The only other issue is the limited game library. While there are some solid titles out right now for the Switch 2, I find myself playing more Switch 1 titles for now. I'm eager to see what upcoming releases are coming at the time of writing this so I feel even better about the upgrade. Final Verdict: If you were an avid Switch 1 gamer, then I would highly recommend the upgrade. I made the decision to upgrade to avoid the price hike coming in September. If you are someone that's on the fence or are buying a Switch for the first time, then I would honestly wait until the game library gets expanded more. I don't think there are enough first party titles to justify the cost, but I'm hoping my mind is changed with the announcement of Star Fox and a new rumored Zelda remake. All in all, solid work from Nintendo on producing an upgrade that can compete in a rapidly growing market of handheld gaming.

Honestly fantastic. A great, sleek system that’s a portable powerhouse and courtesy of Nintendo Magic is a console powerhouse too. Mario Kart World is incredible to play, and the NS2 has breathed extreme life into recent Legend of Zelda and Pokemon titles. New joycons feel excellent in hand.

Yes i love this game system but if im being honest it feels like nintendo settled the switch 2 has a slight bump in graphical ability thats great but its nothing exciting you buy this because like me you grew up with nintendo and you want those nintendo games i feel the price increase is almost highway robbery for what it offers the joycons still feel small the screen is not amazing it should've been oled and lastly your stuck playing only games nintendo approves i wouldnt recommend this as your only system get a ps5 or build a pc THEN you can enjoy the switch 2 for what it offers nintendo games are awesome its not worth it to try to pirate switch games just buy the system their meant to be on

I know the price is a bit more but the consle if very nice. Screen is large, bright and grafics are great. Only complaint is the battery life is only 2h or less if intense gaming but i guess with the performance and screen boost thats the traid off.

I’ve had the original switch since it launched back in 2017, and I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to a switch 2. The updated switch 1 games that run better on the switch 2 is great, because I get to play these great games at a reasonable frame rate and resolution. Additionally, the storage included on board is a massive upgrade at around 250 gigabytes compared to the original switch’s 16. The controllers feel amazing and are very responsive, the screen is incredibly vivid and sharp, and even the unboxing and first-time set up was fun.

Huge step up from the OLED Nintendo Switch console. The only downfall in my opinion is the fact that there are no streaming apps available for the console.

As someone who is an avid gamer and frequent purchaser of games and consoles. I can honestly say this console is the perfect hybrid and handheld console I could ask for. Im a major Zelda fan so to be able to play “Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom” at a stable resolution and framerate is worth it alone. However, to play all these amazing on a bigger screen and larger console, makes this console worth it. Im finally able to enjoy 3rd party games that I originally want to play on the original switch and oled, now run more stable and be more beautiful is worth the investment. The only thing I hope they are able to fix in the future or with future iterations is the battery life for longer term handheld use, but I invested into a separate charger for the switch 2, that helps relieve that issue. Finally being about to charge from the top or bottom of the console is a god send feature I did not know I needed until now

I absolutely love the switch 2. My one big complaint is the screen. It's a nice crisp screen but they should made it OLED right off the bate. The NS2 is so much more powerful and better built then the switch. It has enough power to play some aaa games. Finally! The batteryife is not as good as the switch 1 but what do you expect being so much more powerful. Easy fix get a good power bank and your set.

WELL worth the upgrade from the original OLED version! Very happy with the joy-con magnets, the screen size, and how it looks up on my TV. Hoping to see more third party developers releasing more games that were not on the original Switch, or wouldn't have been released on it, give the Switch 2 a chance!
