The Nintendo Switch 2 is hands down the best console Nintendo has ever released. From its sleek design to its unmatched performance, this system delivers an immaculate experience for both casual players and serious gamers alike. One of the most impressive upgrades is the video quality. With vibrant visuals and a crystal-clear display, the Switch 2 offers the best screen Nintendo has ever delivered on a handheld hybrid console. Whether docked or handheld, every game looks stunning and plays buttery smooth. Performance-wise, this system is everything fans hoped for. Faster load times, smoother frame rates, and a stronger battery life make it not just an improvement but a complete evolution of the original Switch. From action-packed shooters to cozy farming sims, every genre shines. Nintendo also nailed it with its enhanced Joy-Con feel, stronger online support, and a refreshed user interface that feels modern and intuitive. It’s clear they listened to the community and brought the best of everything into one console. Simply put, the Nintendo Switch 2 is immaculate. It sets a new standard for what a hybrid gaming system can be and it’s a must-have for any gamer.

Nintendo released a beast. This is an improvement over the switch in nearly every way. I was a late adopter to the switch ans often regretted it but i havent once regrettted this console. Its powerful, its fast, and its beautiful.

Been dying to play more Mario games. Had a Switch originally but waited to see what the next generation would offer. The Switch 2 has been great. Love the bigger screen and easy to detach joy-cons. Great investment!

A worthy upgrade to the original success console. While yes some games are lacking for its start line, the back catalog and the mix of free upgrades and paid, make this a good console to prefer if you are thinking of owning a switch and want to future proof. For existing owners of a switch original, wouldn’t be surprised to wait but if your excited like me, making this purchase will be your next obsession as long as you keep your mind in the right perspective. It is a beefed up switch, with some new things and some great things brought into from the oled besides the screen. It’s bigger, it’s feels better (although still recommend a grip) and honestly it’s impressive how much power they stuck into this console for how thin it is. Usually the competition have a heavier and bigger feel to it that makes it hard to take anywhere or fully feel comfortable over time with. They have a better feel but man is the switch 2 more compact and simpler to have around.

I have many consoles but Nintendo is my preferred brand. The switch2 is a definite improvement in many ways over the original switch, but it is far from perfect. Pros- big screen, magnetic joycons, hd output mreasonable hdd space, older software performs far cleaner even without a switch2 specific game release. Cons- batterylife is terrible on dayone as you burn time setting up or transferring data. it gets better once wverything is installed but prepare yourself to keeo wifi off when not needed and use the autobrightness where possible - well worth the cash!

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a remarkable upgrade from its predecessor. Right from the unboxing, its sleek design and vibrant display capture attention, offering stunning visuals that come alive whether in handheld or docked mode. With an expanded game library featuring not only classics but also exciting new releases, there's something for everyone. Improved graphics and faster load times enhance the gaming experience, making sessions more immersive. The battery life has significantly improved, allowing for hours of gameplay without the constant need to recharge. The refined Joy-Con controllers provide a comfortable grip and enhanced haptic feedback, ensuring that every action feels responsive. Additionally, the online multiplayer experience is seamless, making it easy to connect with friends. In summary, the Nintendo Switch 2 is an exhilarating platform that combines fun, creativity, and adventure. It's not just a console; it’s a must-have for both veterans and newcomers alike, making it a solid five-star product!

The new switch is great Pros: Loading times are greatly reduced when playing games. The graphics are much better than the previous console both in handheld mode and on the tv. The joy cons and overall feel of the system is a large improvement. The screen is beautiful and is so much larger. Con The battery life is not good. It’s understandable due to the power of the console but you lose about 1 percent of battery per minute playing a game like Mario kart world. Overall I highly recommend the console and I have enjoyed playing it. I hope they are able to address the battery life with some type of firmware patch in the future but I am not hopeful. If you can get one, you will love it.

Nintendo Switch 2 Review (Big Boy Pants)

If you loved the original Nintendo Switch, congratulations—you already love the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s basically the Switch that went to the gym, upgraded its glasses, and decided it didn’t want to be mistaken for a toy anymore. The resolution is sharper, the frame rates are smoother, and everything loads faster—so your character now falls off cliffs in beautifully crisp detail. The Joy-Cons are larger and more comfortable, meaning your adult hands no longer feel like they’re borrowing controls from a Happy Meal. Design-wise, the Switch 2 feels more grown-up. It still knows how to have fun, but now it pays bills and owns matching furniture. It’s clearly built with adults in mind, while still being perfectly capable of entertaining kids, parents, grandparents, and that one family member who “doesn’t play games” but somehow wins every round. In short: the Switch 2 doesn’t reinvent the wheel—it just makes it faster, smoother, and way nicer to hold. If the original Switch was for your kids, the Switch 2 is for everyone. And yes, you’re absolutely justified in buying it “for the family.”

It’s a Nintendo Switch with better performance, a bigger screen, a better kickstand, a better Joy-Con mechanism, 4K HDR docked support, and some neat additional features I haven’t tried yet. I’ve really appreciated the upgraded performance and graphics on many original Switch games, in particular, Pokémon Scarlet and Echoes of Wisdom, two games I avoided or stopped playing on the original due to performance. Also hoping more games support GameShare, really nice if you also still have an original Switch for some games. But also, Mario Kart World is a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to playing Donkey Kong Bananza. With that said, I think this system might be slightly less kid friendly as a handheld portable console than the original and Lite just due to its size and weight, but the bigger Joy-Cons I think are a better improvement for everyone.

Worth it if you’re new to Nintendo Switch

If you’re contemplating getting a Nintendo Switch I highly recommend getting the Switch 2 over the regular Nintendo Switch or the OLED model, I’ll break down the reasons below. Performance: The Switch 2’s performance is a night and day difference compared to original Switch, games run buttery smooth, 60fps and 120fps are solid and of course the ability to play games in 4K resolution, as well as playing games in 120fps in 1080P and 1440P on a supported tv with a 120hz refresh rate. Backwards compatibility: The Switch 2 is compatible with about 95% of the Switch library, so all of the first party Nintendo titles will work on Switch 2, and many of the first party games have a Switch 2 edition available with the aforementioned upgrades like better resolution, performance, frame rate, etc. So even if you skip the exclusive Switch 2 edition of games, there’s plenty of other Switch games that will work on Switch 2 save for a few games that aren’t going to be able to work, but that’s not a huge issue. Ergonomics: Yes, the redesigned Joycon 2 controllers are a substantial overhaul of the original Joycons, much more comfortable to use, fits in the hand well, and its perfect to use by itself, it’s far more practical to play with in a game like Mario Kart World or Mario Party Jamboree. The pro controller is also one of the best controllers I’ve ever come across, also very ergonomic, worth getting if you plan to play more mature games. Portability: Even though the Switch 2 is much larger than the original Switch, it still maintains easy portability, the handheld is light, easy to store and take with you, the HDR display is really crisp and sharp, it may not be an OLED display, but it supports 1080P on the handheld itself and supports 60fps and 120fps as well in 1080P and 720P. The Joycons are magnetic this time, support mouse mode and it works like a PC mouse, it’s a neat feature and the Switch 2 has a built in microphone with support for chat with other friends with a Switch 2. The only minor downside is the internal storage is 256gb, so you will need Micro SD Express cards down the road. Not terrible, but 500gb would’ve been better. Overall Nintendo delivered a well thought out successor that improves on the original Switch in every single way possible. It’s faster, performs better, feels better, and for me it’s a worthwhile investment and upgrade. So if you’re thinking about getting a Switch, I can’t suggest the Switch 2 enough.

Been using it pretty much every day for the last 4 months. Games made for the Switch 2 or Switch 1 games with upgrades look great (Switch 1 games without upgrades can be hit or miss). All Switch 1 games seem to load faster regardless. I play both docked and handheld without issue. Battery life is worse than Switch 1 due to the larger processing power, so if primarily handheld, you may need to carry along a charger or extra battery pack.

I recently purchased the Nintendo Switch 2 and I’m blown away by how much of an upgrade it is from the original. The screen is incredibly vibrant, load times are noticeably faster, and the overall performance is super smooth. It still retains everything I love about the original Switch — portability, flexibility, and fun — but takes everything to the next level. Games look better and run better. Battery life is solid, and the build quality feels premium. I also really appreciate how seamlessly it works with my existing Joy-Cons and accessories. Whether you're new to Nintendo or upgrading from a previous model, the Switch 2 is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

A perfect evolution of a proven console

This is, for better or for worse, an outstanding evolution of the original Nintendo switch. It's power is impressive, running games like cyberpunk 2077 as well as mario kart world with its expanded world and visuals, this console will not only enable better performance for games, but also simply unlock new horizons for mechanics and game design for nintendo's first party developers, whos games are the main selling point for alot of people including me the 1080p screen is beautiful. some Switch 1 games will get updates, enhancing these games breathing new life for old and new players alike. even games that will not get a dedicated update and had performance problems like frame drops and the need for dynamic resolution scaling are inherently smoothed out by the switch 2, though they will still be limited by its original capped framerate and resolution, unfortunately making switch 1 games a litte fuzzy on the screen due to the need for upscaling. the load times are much better for switch 1 games as well, giving new life to previous switch 1 games. The real upgrade here is the new Joycons though. They feel so much more premium, the buttons feel better to press, the woefully overlooked and forgotten HD rumble is even better. The buttons, particularly the new bumpers and triggers, feel so much better to press. the bumpers and triggers also have a really soothing texture to them. The motion controls are good this time. The joysticks are amazing, they are so buttery smooth. Something i think is overlooked is the new sound effects that play when you click menu options. they give a really nice 'playfulness' to navigating menus and its quite charming, though they still pale in comparison to the quite missed menu music of the Wii consoles. There are a few flaws though, the most noteable one being the battery life. It's only ok. I recently traveled on vacation with the switch 2 and playing mario kart world the battery would've died on a 4 hour flight if I hadn't have a power bank. The screen while still fantastic as i said above is a downgrade to the switch 1 oled model in my opinion. the 120 fps capability is great though there will be a exceedingly few games that will take advantage of this because even though the switch 2 is a ginormous upgrade from the switch 1 it still isn't THAT powerful then of course there is the whole steam deck vs switch 2 debate. I say if you're not interested in the Nintendo exclusives (which you really should be, but i digress) and you have a powerful PC go for the steam deck or the other handhelds. the steam iteration is great the better customer service like a good refund policy and having to only buy the game only once, you get the best of both worlds, high rez and fps gameplay on pc and the flexibility of portability. though even if you're not interested in Nintendo games but you don't have a powerful pc however i say switch 2. it being more powerful as well as being a main console it will have games optimized for it. In my opinion this is the best console on the market right now, The ability to seamlessly switch between home console mode and portable is so good, and still feels as fresh as it did back then. the myriad of unique features like the motion controls enable experiences that you cant get anywhere else, and unique experiences are just amazing. Something that i think goes overlooked is that nintendos consistent level of game quality instills a great sense of confidence that there will be an amazing game library to come, it is the reason i was comfortable buying this console at launch, i know that a game is going to come out that I just gotta play so might as well buy it asap and enjoy it sooner than i otherwise would have. Even with all this it might surprise you that my favorite part about the console isn't any of the hardware upgrades, but the backwards compatibility. It's just so amazing to not have to start over again and be able to play all my favorite switch 1 games on the switch 2, as well as having switch 1 games that i haven't played yet just available to play immediately bolstering the switch 2s library. Overall I think this is the best continuation of the switch 1s legacy anyone could ever ask for, and I think it will have a just as good if not even better legacy than the switch 1.

Pros - the system feels solid, premium and less like a toy like the first switch felt. The speakers are good, the hdrumble feels a little better. The bigger display is nice. It’s nice you can play your switch 1 games. Cons - while the screen is bigger and supports a higher refresh rate. It’s a slow lcd panel. Blacks are displayed as a uniform gray color as the panel can’t produce perfect black levels. Any games with higher motion show more visible trailing or ghosting of the image compared to the switch oled model. Not a major con if you’re docked all the time (especially if you own an oled tv). The ui, it’s the same ui we’ve had for years. No innovation. No themes, just nothing. You’re teased with some cool ambient music during first boot and setup, but never again do you hear it. Just back to silent and bare bones ui. No games. Seriously at the time of this writing, we have only 4 actual switch 2 games available. (Not including ports or crossgen) dk, Mario, the rip off tour game, and the wheelchair basketball game. All the other available s2 games are either games you’ve already played or can play better on every other platform. (Cyberpunk, nms, Fortnite, madden, etc with the 3rd party games. What about switch 1 games that are patched now. Well those are nice, totk, botw, Mario all look and performs great on the s2 in either handheld or docked. However!!!! Nintendo doesnt tell you much about non patched switch 1 games. Sure you can play them using your switch 2. But without any patch to unlock the resolution or frame rate, the vast majority of switch 1 games will run at a maximum of 720p handheld on your switch 2. This looks bad. The bilinear scaling from 720 to 1080 handheld looks rough. Add in any limitations to frame rate the s1 games had and you’re in for an ugly 30fps 720p experience handheld. Docked, you get what you previously had on your s1, so again, limited to whatever the docked profile gave your game performance wise. Overall, it’s okay. Being able to play Zelda finally at crisp 1080 and 60fps handheld is great. But again I paid 450$+ for a console and then another 10 bucks just to play at a good frame rate. I’d love to give it a higher rating but sadly it’s been collecting dust till either new games come out and I mean new OR the massive and loved switch 1 library gets performance patches to utilize the switch 2. The steam deck oled is a way better value and still my preferred mobile gaming device.

I love this unit, the screen is massive and brilliant in comparison to to v1 switch, or even the oled swtich! The joysticks are improved yet still not hall effect which is a let down, but still good. The controllers and overall ergonomics are amazing and i truly believe they nailed this design! The battery life is not anything to rave about but it does get the job done for the most part. The mouse feature on the joycons is an interesting feature, but i have not found many practical applications honestly in my day to day play time but that is subjective for sure! I rank this unit 8.9 out of 10 and would definitely recommend it for anyone!

Really huge quality jump from the original switch. Controllers feel a lot more solid and much faster than the old system. Even having the 4k capability on the tv is great. Even if you don’t have any games you want on the switch 2 yet it is worth for just the faster tech. I wish the OLED screen was there but I’m sure it’s coming in the future. Be warned you do have to get a new type of memory card as the standard micro sd won’t work

It’s basically a more powerful switch which is honestly what I bought it for as the original switch was in desperate need of an upgrade. The console and joy cons have a premium feel and look to them. The kickstand is metal and supports the switch well. The new joy cons are bigger and more comfortable in the hands, and the joy sticks are much smoother to move around than the switch 1. The magnetic joy con connections are very nice as the joy cons don’t wobble when connected to the switch and they just snap in place. The screen isn’t oled, but it’s about as vivid as the oled switch. I’ve noticed the screen does have slight motion blur compared to the regular switch but it doesn’t bother me that much. The speakers are much better than switch 1. I get about 2 hours of battery life when playing Breath of the Wild switch 2 edition. I do usually have the brightness on max, but I do wish the battery life was a little longer. There aren’t too many games that make it worth buying right now, but I’ve been enjoying the quicker load times, better graphics, and more responsive menus. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
