A perfect evolution of a proven console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is, for better or for worse, an outstanding evolution of the original Nintendo switch. It's power is impressive, running games like cyberpunk 2077 as well as mario kart world with its expanded world and visuals, this console will not only enable better performance for games, but also simply unlock new horizons for mechanics and game design for nintendo's first party developers, whos games are the main selling point for alot of people including me the 1080p screen is beautiful. some Switch 1 games will get updates, enhancing these games breathing new life for old and new players alike. even games that will not get a dedicated update and had performance problems like frame drops and the need for dynamic resolution scaling are inherently smoothed out by the switch 2, though they will still be limited by its original capped framerate and resolution, unfortunately making switch 1 games a litte fuzzy on the screen due to the need for upscaling. the load times are much better for switch 1 games as well, giving new life to previous switch 1 games. The real upgrade here is the new Joycons though. They feel so much more premium, the buttons feel better to press, the woefully overlooked and forgotten HD rumble is even better. The buttons, particularly the new bumpers and triggers, feel so much better to press. the bumpers and triggers also have a really soothing texture to them. The motion controls are good this time. The joysticks are amazing, they are so buttery smooth. Something i think is overlooked is the new sound effects that play when you click menu options. they give a really nice 'playfulness' to navigating menus and its quite charming, though they still pale in comparison to the quite missed menu music of the Wii consoles. There are a few flaws though, the most noteable one being the battery life. It's only ok. I recently traveled on vacation with the switch 2 and playing mario kart world the battery would've died on a 4 hour flight if I hadn't have a power bank. The screen while still fantastic as i said above is a downgrade to the switch 1 oled model in my opinion. the 120 fps capability is great though there will be a exceedingly few games that will take advantage of this because even though the switch 2 is a ginormous upgrade from the switch 1 it still isn't THAT powerful then of course there is the whole steam deck vs switch 2 debate. I say if you're not interested in the Nintendo exclusives (which you really should be, but i digress) and you have a powerful PC go for the steam deck or the other handhelds. the steam iteration is great the better customer service like a good refund policy and having to only buy the game only once, you get the best of both worlds, high rez and fps gameplay on pc and the flexibility of portability. though even if you're not interested in Nintendo games but you don't have a powerful pc however i say switch 2. it being more powerful as well as being a main console it will have games optimized for it. In my opinion this is the best console on the market right now, The ability to seamlessly switch between home console mode and portable is so good, and still feels as fresh as it did back then. the myriad of unique features like the motion controls enable experiences that you cant get anywhere else, and unique experiences are just amazing. Something that i think goes overlooked is that nintendos consistent level of game quality instills a great sense of confidence that there will be an amazing game library to come, it is the reason i was comfortable buying this console at launch, i know that a game is going to come out that I just gotta play so might as well buy it asap and enjoy it sooner than i otherwise would have. Even with all this it might surprise you that my favorite part about the console isn't any of the hardware upgrades, but the backwards compatibility. It's just so amazing to not have to start over again and be able to play all my favorite switch 1 games on the switch 2, as well as having switch 1 games that i haven't played yet just available to play immediately bolstering the switch 2s library. Overall I think this is the best continuation of the switch 1s legacy anyone could ever ask for, and I think it will have a just as good if not even better legacy than the switch 1.

A bigger, better Switch and more
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a Nintendo Switch with better performance, a bigger screen, a better kickstand, a better Joy-Con mechanism, 4K HDR docked support, and some neat additional features I haven’t tried yet. I’ve really appreciated the upgraded performance and graphics on many original Switch games, in particular, Pokémon Scarlet and Echoes of Wisdom, two games I avoided or stopped playing on the original due to performance. Also hoping more games support GameShare, really nice if you also still have an original Switch for some games. But also, Mario Kart World is a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to playing Donkey Kong Bananza. With that said, I think this system might be slightly less kid friendly as a handheld portable console than the original and Lite just due to its size and weight, but the bigger Joy-Cons I think are a better improvement for everyone.

Very happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switching from the original to the 2 and my daughter loves the 2. The screen is larger and the graphics are more defined. System runs amootj and is still easy to hold. Interesting docking station design but still compact and even blends in nicely.

Kinda underwhelming
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - the system feels solid, premium and less like a toy like the first switch felt. The speakers are good, the hdrumble feels a little better. The bigger display is nice. It’s nice you can play your switch 1 games. Cons - while the screen is bigger and supports a higher refresh rate. It’s a slow lcd panel. Blacks are displayed as a uniform gray color as the panel can’t produce perfect black levels. Any games with higher motion show more visible trailing or ghosting of the image compared to the switch oled model. Not a major con if you’re docked all the time (especially if you own an oled tv). The ui, it’s the same ui we’ve had for years. No innovation. No themes, just nothing. You’re teased with some cool ambient music during first boot and setup, but never again do you hear it. Just back to silent and bare bones ui. No games. Seriously at the time of this writing, we have only 4 actual switch 2 games available. (Not including ports or crossgen) dk, Mario, the rip off tour game, and the wheelchair basketball game. All the other available s2 games are either games you’ve already played or can play better on every other platform. (Cyberpunk, nms, Fortnite, madden, etc with the 3rd party games. What about switch 1 games that are patched now. Well those are nice, totk, botw, Mario all look and performs great on the s2 in either handheld or docked. However!!!! Nintendo doesnt tell you much about non patched switch 1 games. Sure you can play them using your switch 2. But without any patch to unlock the resolution or frame rate, the vast majority of switch 1 games will run at a maximum of 720p handheld on your switch 2. This looks bad. The bilinear scaling from 720 to 1080 handheld looks rough. Add in any limitations to frame rate the s1 games had and you’re in for an ugly 30fps 720p experience handheld. Docked, you get what you previously had on your s1, so again, limited to whatever the docked profile gave your game performance wise. Overall, it’s okay. Being able to play Zelda finally at crisp 1080 and 60fps handheld is great. But again I paid 450$+ for a console and then another 10 bucks just to play at a good frame rate. I’d love to give it a higher rating but sadly it’s been collecting dust till either new games come out and I mean new OR the massive and loved switch 1 library gets performance patches to utilize the switch 2. The steam deck oled is a way better value and still my preferred mobile gaming device.

Nice tech upgrade from the original
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really huge quality jump from the original switch. Controllers feel a lot more solid and much faster than the old system. Even having the 4k capability on the tv is great. Even if you don’t have any games you want on the switch 2 yet it is worth for just the faster tech. I wish the OLED screen was there but I’m sure it’s coming in the future. Be warned you do have to get a new type of memory card as the standard micro sd won’t work

Great performance and sleek design, no OLED screen
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great performance and sleek design. I enjoy mine. Non OLED screen is easier on the eyes as well. Fun for Animal Crossing and Zelda and they are adding many more games in the future.

Bigger and better in almost every way
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bigger and more powerful thoughtful design to fix problems people had with the original switch like the kickstand and having charge ports on top and bottom of the console the battery life does feel rather short in handheld mode but overall its a worth upgrade in my opinion and some games even get free performance updates like Pokémon scarlet and violet that make playing them on the switch 2 the way to go

Not for Me But Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did I wait for over an hour on the release day? (It wasn't that bad.) Yes. Was it worth it to see the surprise on my 14-year-old's face when they saw it the next day? Yes. Graphics are great, crisp, clear and vibrant. The increased screen size is a win. The bigger screen does not make the console feel bulky, so that is a win. The new Mario Kart game has converted my wife, who is not a video game enthusiast, into a fan. So I would call it a win. If you can get your hands on a console, do it. You will not regret it.

Everything that I want out of a Switch 2!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the size and the performance it packs for its slim design. If you have a Switch games library there is very little reason to not pick this up. Games are backwards compatible and run better. Also docking to the tv is simple and looks great. The one thing that falls a little short is battery life for newer titles. I wouldnt mind Nintendo adding a ‘battery mode’ that reduces power and allows games to run at a lower performance to increase battery life. Other than that I’d recommend this to anyone!

Great Performance, Just a Bit Too Big
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great device. It feels powerful and handles the newest games really well, which is a big plus. Being able to play the latest titles smoothly is definitely the main reason to upgrade. That said, it’s a little too big for my hands. I actually preferred the OLED model because of the screen, battery life, and smaller form factor. It just felt more comfortable to hold for longer sessions. I was also really excited about some of the new features, especially GameShare. It’s a great idea and has a lot of potential. However, not all of the games I want to play with others are compatible yet. I’m hoping more titles become GameShare-supported in the future. Overall, it’s a strong system with great performance and exciting features, but I still appreciate the comfort and battery life of the OLED model.

Great Product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a remarkable leap forward from its predecessor, setting a new benchmark for hybrid gaming consoles. One of the most noticeable upgrades is the overall system functionality. From boot-up to gameplay, the interface operates with impressive smoothness and responsiveness. Menus load faster, transitions are seamless, and games benefit from significantly reduced load times, creating a more fluid and immersive user experience. The Switch 2 feels far more optimized and modern than the original Nintendo Switch. Another standout feature is the stunning new display. The larger screen size enhances visibility and transforms how games are experienced on the go. Colors are richer, and the higher resolution makes visuals pop with greater clarity and detail. This isn’t just an incremental update — the bigger screen makes the Switch 2 feel like an entirely new console, elevating handheld gaming to a premium level. The redesigned Joy-Cons are also worth praising. Ergonomically improved, they offer a more comfortable grip and enhanced button responsiveness. Whether playing solo or sharing with a friend, the Joy-Cons feel more intuitive and reliable. Nintendo has listened to user feedback and refined the design to deliver a more satisfying gameplay experience. Overall, the Nintendo Switch 2 is a significant success. With smoother performance, a significantly enhanced display, and much-improved Joy-Cons, it’s a must-have upgrade for longtime fans and new players.

Nintendo for the win
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system. Nintendo picked up their game and brought us something that plays smoothly, offers great screen size and unmatched playability from a handheld system. And let’s not forget its ability to connect to the big screen offering 4k quality graphics.

Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Def worth the buy! This device feels more premium than the previous switch. I love the snap on joy cons and I love how big the screen is! Performance is great. I love getting 60fps in handheld mode for most games. The only downfall is how long the battery lasts but ofc its due the bigger screen, 60fps, and HDR. Make sure to keep an external battery pack handy or near a wall outlet. Agaib, its def a great buy!

A Great system
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my second Nintendo product I owned, coming from the Switch Lite this thing is so much better all around, I enjoy the screen a lot which enhances my playing experience so much more to the point I feel engaged to pick it up and play the games on it more so. The Joy Cons are good, not the best but definitely an upgrade compared to what I was coming from before, they feel more responsive and I haven't noticed any stick drift yet while using it which is also a big positive. The device is great, if you're on the fence about spending that much money for a gaming console that's totally understandable, but putting it into something like this where you can game on the go or on the big screen via the dock is worth the investment as long as you take care of it.

Fun upgrade or downgrade?
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it for my 9yo and he's happy with it. Compared to the first Switch, this one is bigger and the picture quality looks better. I don't know much about it but everyone plays it and its great when you have family over. One of the things my kid likes about it is the way the controllers snap of instead of sliding off. Overall fun, but i also heard if you use third party attachments it could disable the switch and games are only digital???
