The Switch 2 is basically the Switch perfected: the same hybrid concept, but more powerful, smoother, and more modern. Ideal if: You enjoy handheld gaming You are already a Nintendo fan You want better performance without switching ecosystems

It took me about a month and a half since release to finally get one, and despite the criticism, negative reviews that have nothing to do with the quality of the product, or the general skeptics out there, this is the best handheld gaming system hands down! Yes, not having an OLED display is a bit of a downer, but the advantages far exceeds the one shortcoming. For instance, HDR support, 4K resolution with up to 120hz refresh rate, and backwards compatibility (with a couple of rare exceptions). Mario Kart World is incredible! Even original Switch games see a marked improvement in performance. Legend of Zelda:Tears of the Kingdom with sharper visuals and 60 FPS? Yes, please! Even New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe has improved performance. If you’re hesitant about buying it because of the price, I understand. If you’re the occasional gamer who is only looking to pass the time on a layover, skip it. Just use your phone. For everyone else, what are you waiting for? There’s two – no, one still in stock at your local Best Buy! But I’d hurry. This one older lady is circling around it like a vulture. Never mind, it’s still there! So what are you waiting for? Get yourself a Switch 2. Like, now.

A Great Upgrade That Feels Familiar

The Switch 2 keeps everything I loved about the original but improves where it counts — faster loading, sharper visuals, and better battery life. Games run smoother, and the slightly bigger screen looks amazing. Still super portable and great for couch or travel gaming. If you liked the first Switch, this feels like a polished evolution, not a complete overhaul — and that’s a good thing.

Glad to finally get the new switch! I know that there are mixed reviews on this but I love it! A bit heavier than the previous model but it does have a bigger screen and better graphics. Worth every penny.

Love the new switch. It's faster and sharper than my original switch, but I would've still been very ok with not getting it. I bought it just for the new Pokemon game. Was upset that I had to buy a new system just for the game.

I was VERY hesitant to get a switch two due to Nintendo's admittingly insane user agreement and track record for bricking consoles for pretty crazy reasons, but after getting this console I have to say that a lot of my problems have been eased. First of all, before I say the good and bad about this console I would like to say that I don't use the online play. All the games I have used on this switch so far have been offline because I am still admittingly scared of Nintendo's end user agreement and my expensive new purchase being reduced to paperweight for just about any reason they deem worthy of punishing. (I tend to use 3rd party controllers and docks to save money which I don't know if falls under the bannable category) The good: the switch looks amazing! In spite of it being all black the finish they used on the shell keeps oil from your hands from smudging up the console and keeps it looking clean even after hours of gaming which is really nice. Furthermore original switch controllers are compatible with the switch 2 so I didn't need to purchase new controllers to play 4 player on Mario cart. Lastly any non remastered or upgraded games that you purchase on the switch you can download on the switch two without rebuying it, so games like Lego drive that I had on my old switch I could download on the new one. Games that I owned that did get upgraded, like animal crossing, were only 5$ to buy the upgraded version which, all things considered with Nintendo pushing 80$ games, was really surprising to see. The Bad: My biggest gripes are with simple things that don't effect too much and some of them are even being worked on by Nintendo. Firstly the storage space for this console is really small for how much space the games take. 256gb goes by fast just with downloading your old switch games and certified SD cards cost way too much so you have to pick and choose what you want to have downloaded. It's also annoying sometimes that the old switch chargers will not work with the new switch dock which I understand due to this console being 8 years newer and power hungry by comparison, but I would like to still be able to use my old one to charge my switch 2 in the dock even if I cannot play while doing it. The meh: they are adding a lot of gamecube era games to the switch 2 but they are all locked behind the switch premium paywall. If they would just sell the games normally I would be happy to buy them, but a lot of the old retro games from NES- GameCube are all locked behind that subscription service and can only be played if you pay monthly which I personally am unwilling to do, but is not really a deal breaker it's just something to keep in mind if that's one of the reasons why you want to buy this console. Overall I have been very satisfied with my purchase!

THE BEST CONSOLE EVER!!! 1: It is portable while the Xbox and PS series are not built to do it 2: It has amazing graphics, the GPU is like that of an RTX 2050 3: Made for people who don't need extreme graphics 4: Is not power hungry.

Honestly way better than the first Switch, I play Animal Crossing New Horizons and I can definitely tell the difference in gameplay. The charger is super good, its a type c with it’s own cube (like a phone charger) and I sometimes use it to charge my phone as well because it charges SO fast. (Seriously.) It’s definitely an upgrade with the bigger screen and stand, and I’d say its worth it.

The Switch 2 has become the perfect companion for my life as a part‑time student and full‑time worker. I’m constantly juggling assignments, shifts, and everything in between, and this thing fits into my schedule better than any other device I own. The instant‑on, quick sessions, and portability make it ridiculously easy to squeeze in a little gaming during breaks or wind down after a long day. What really surprised me is how good it feels to play something like Pokopia on it. The brighter screen, smoother performance, and improved controls make the game feel alive in a way the original Switch never quite managed. I genuinely look forward to those small pockets of free time because the Switch 2 turns them into something relaxing and fun. For anyone balancing school, work, and life, this console just makes sense — and honestly, I love it more every day I use it.
