Beware if shipping to home!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 and received a Play-Doh toy instead! Best Buy doesn’t even sell this item making it impossible to exchange. In store pickup was not an option when ordering the Switch 2 from Best Buy.com, only delivery with OnTrac as their courier. I reported this issue to Best Buy’s customer care, they closed my ticket and just told me to contact local law enforcement rather than trying to make it right. After this I will likely never order from BestBuy.com again unless I have the option to pick the item up in store.

Worth it if you’re new to Nintendo Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re contemplating getting a Nintendo Switch I highly recommend getting the Switch 2 over the regular Nintendo Switch or the OLED model, I’ll break down the reasons below. Performance: The Switch 2’s performance is a night and day difference compared to original Switch, games run buttery smooth, 60fps and 120fps are solid and of course the ability to play games in 4K resolution, as well as playing games in 120fps in 1080P and 1440P on a supported tv with a 120hz refresh rate. Backwards compatibility: The Switch 2 is compatible with about 95% of the Switch library, so all of the first party Nintendo titles will work on Switch 2, and many of the first party games have a Switch 2 edition available with the aforementioned upgrades like better resolution, performance, frame rate, etc. So even if you skip the exclusive Switch 2 edition of games, there’s plenty of other Switch games that will work on Switch 2 save for a few games that aren’t going to be able to work, but that’s not a huge issue. Ergonomics: Yes, the redesigned Joycon 2 controllers are a substantial overhaul of the original Joycons, much more comfortable to use, fits in the hand well, and its perfect to use by itself, it’s far more practical to play with in a game like Mario Kart World or Mario Party Jamboree. The pro controller is also one of the best controllers I’ve ever come across, also very ergonomic, worth getting if you plan to play more mature games. Portability: Even though the Switch 2 is much larger than the original Switch, it still maintains easy portability, the handheld is light, easy to store and take with you, the HDR display is really crisp and sharp, it may not be an OLED display, but it supports 1080P on the handheld itself and supports 60fps and 120fps as well in 1080P and 720P. The Joycons are magnetic this time, support mouse mode and it works like a PC mouse, it’s a neat feature and the Switch 2 has a built in microphone with support for chat with other friends with a Switch 2. The only minor downside is the internal storage is 256gb, so you will need Micro SD Express cards down the road. Not terrible, but 500gb would’ve been better. Overall Nintendo delivered a well thought out successor that improves on the original Switch in every single way possible. It’s faster, performs better, feels better, and for me it’s a worthwhile investment and upgrade. So if you’re thinking about getting a Switch, I can’t suggest the Switch 2 enough.

Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Def worth the buy! This device feels more premium than the previous switch. I love the snap on joy cons and I love how big the screen is! Performance is great. I love getting 60fps in handheld mode for most games. The only downfall is how long the battery lasts but ofc its due the bigger screen, 60fps, and HDR. Make sure to keep an external battery pack handy or near a wall outlet. Agaib, its def a great buy!

Fun at a premium
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say that others have not already said? The screen is great, even coming from the OLED version. The console is weighty and feels more premium than the previous iteration. The cartridge slot cover is MUCH better and I no longer think I am going to break it while trying to open it. Playing in 4k on my monitor is great! The only true issue that I am seeing is the battery for some people, and even that has not been an issue for me. Is it a bit higher in price than I would like? Sure. Are the official accessories and peripherals a bit absurdly priced? Ya probably. Are the games a bit much if you buy them new? Absolutely. That all said, where else can you go to get your pokemon fix? Or your mario fix? Nintendo. And if you are going to shell out the cash for it, you might as well enjoy it on a device that makes it look good. All joking aside, I really am enjoying my Switch 2. There are frequent sales on the Nintendo eShop and I have no real complaints.

Same feel new experience. Switch 2 review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A worthy upgrade to the original success console. While yes some games are lacking for its start line, the back catalog and the mix of free upgrades and paid, make this a good console to prefer if you are thinking of owning a switch and want to future proof. For existing owners of a switch original, wouldn’t be surprised to wait but if your excited like me, making this purchase will be your next obsession as long as you keep your mind in the right perspective. It is a beefed up switch, with some new things and some great things brought into from the oled besides the screen. It’s bigger, it’s feels better (although still recommend a grip) and honestly it’s impressive how much power they stuck into this console for how thin it is. Usually the competition have a heavier and bigger feel to it that makes it hard to take anywhere or fully feel comfortable over time with. They have a better feel but man is the switch 2 more compact and simpler to have around.

Best Nintendo system ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the BEST Nintendo console ever made. I have over 200 switch games and almost every game I try on switch 2 looks and plays better. The backwards compatibility alone is worth the price. The only 2 things I dislike are the battery life and the tiny amount of storage space for games.

Worth The Wait & Excitement
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who is an avid gamer and frequent purchaser of games and consoles. I can honestly say this console is the perfect hybrid and handheld console I could ask for. Im a major Zelda fan so to be able to play “Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom” at a stable resolution and framerate is worth it alone. However, to play all these amazing on a bigger screen and larger console, makes this console worth it. Im finally able to enjoy 3rd party games that I originally want to play on the original switch and oled, now run more stable and be more beautiful is worth the investment. The only thing I hope they are able to fix in the future or with future iterations is the battery life for longer term handheld use, but I invested into a separate charger for the switch 2, that helps relieve that issue. Finally being about to charge from the top or bottom of the console is a god send feature I did not know I needed until now

Switch 2 for the win
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new switch is great Pros: Loading times are greatly reduced when playing games. The graphics are much better than the previous console both in handheld mode and on the tv. The joy cons and overall feel of the system is a large improvement. The screen is beautiful and is so much larger. Con The battery life is not good. It’s understandable due to the power of the console but you lose about 1 percent of battery per minute playing a game like Mario kart world. Overall I highly recommend the console and I have enjoyed playing it. I hope they are able to address the battery life with some type of firmware patch in the future but I am not hopeful. If you can get one, you will love it.

Nice tech upgrade from the original
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really huge quality jump from the original switch. Controllers feel a lot more solid and much faster than the old system. Even having the 4k capability on the tv is great. Even if you don’t have any games you want on the switch 2 yet it is worth for just the faster tech. I wish the OLED screen was there but I’m sure it’s coming in the future. Be warned you do have to get a new type of memory card as the standard micro sd won’t work

Switch 2 Exceeds Expectations — Fast, Smooth, and
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Nintendo Switch 2 and I’m blown away by how much of an upgrade it is from the original. The screen is incredibly vibrant, load times are noticeably faster, and the overall performance is super smooth. It still retains everything I love about the original Switch — portability, flexibility, and fun — but takes everything to the next level. Games look better and run better. Battery life is solid, and the build quality feels premium. I also really appreciate how seamlessly it works with my existing Joy-Cons and accessories. Whether you're new to Nintendo or upgrading from a previous model, the Switch 2 is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Nice upgrade over switch 1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice hardware upgrade with better graphics and faster gameplay. However the battery life is not great and could be better. Joycons are improved with magnetic attach feature which is a nice upgrade as well along with a larger screen. 256gb internal storage is small and probably should have been larger. You will need to buy a SD Micro Express Card to install more games.

A perfect evolution of a proven console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is, for better or for worse, an outstanding evolution of the original Nintendo switch. It's power is impressive, running games like cyberpunk 2077 as well as mario kart world with its expanded world and visuals, this console will not only enable better performance for games, but also simply unlock new horizons for mechanics and game design for nintendo's first party developers, whos games are the main selling point for alot of people including me the 1080p screen is beautiful. some Switch 1 games will get updates, enhancing these games breathing new life for old and new players alike. even games that will not get a dedicated update and had performance problems like frame drops and the need for dynamic resolution scaling are inherently smoothed out by the switch 2, though they will still be limited by its original capped framerate and resolution, unfortunately making switch 1 games a litte fuzzy on the screen due to the need for upscaling. the load times are much better for switch 1 games as well, giving new life to previous switch 1 games. The real upgrade here is the new Joycons though. They feel so much more premium, the buttons feel better to press, the woefully overlooked and forgotten HD rumble is even better. The buttons, particularly the new bumpers and triggers, feel so much better to press. the bumpers and triggers also have a really soothing texture to them. The motion controls are good this time. The joysticks are amazing, they are so buttery smooth. Something i think is overlooked is the new sound effects that play when you click menu options. they give a really nice 'playfulness' to navigating menus and its quite charming, though they still pale in comparison to the quite missed menu music of the Wii consoles. There are a few flaws though, the most noteable one being the battery life. It's only ok. I recently traveled on vacation with the switch 2 and playing mario kart world the battery would've died on a 4 hour flight if I hadn't have a power bank. The screen while still fantastic as i said above is a downgrade to the switch 1 oled model in my opinion. the 120 fps capability is great though there will be a exceedingly few games that will take advantage of this because even though the switch 2 is a ginormous upgrade from the switch 1 it still isn't THAT powerful then of course there is the whole steam deck vs switch 2 debate. I say if you're not interested in the Nintendo exclusives (which you really should be, but i digress) and you have a powerful PC go for the steam deck or the other handhelds. the steam iteration is great the better customer service like a good refund policy and having to only buy the game only once, you get the best of both worlds, high rez and fps gameplay on pc and the flexibility of portability. though even if you're not interested in Nintendo games but you don't have a powerful pc however i say switch 2. it being more powerful as well as being a main console it will have games optimized for it. In my opinion this is the best console on the market right now, The ability to seamlessly switch between home console mode and portable is so good, and still feels as fresh as it did back then. the myriad of unique features like the motion controls enable experiences that you cant get anywhere else, and unique experiences are just amazing. Something that i think goes overlooked is that nintendos consistent level of game quality instills a great sense of confidence that there will be an amazing game library to come, it is the reason i was comfortable buying this console at launch, i know that a game is going to come out that I just gotta play so might as well buy it asap and enjoy it sooner than i otherwise would have. Even with all this it might surprise you that my favorite part about the console isn't any of the hardware upgrades, but the backwards compatibility. It's just so amazing to not have to start over again and be able to play all my favorite switch 1 games on the switch 2, as well as having switch 1 games that i haven't played yet just available to play immediately bolstering the switch 2s library. Overall I think this is the best continuation of the switch 1s legacy anyone could ever ask for, and I think it will have a just as good if not even better legacy than the switch 1.

My First Nintendo Console Since N64
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was born in 1986 and I grew up playing Nintendo consoles in the 90’s. Super Mario bro 1, 2, 3 on NES were a big deal for me growing up! I played video games from 1990 until 2007, then I stopped playing for well over a decade. It wasn’t until 2019 that I bought an Xbox one and started playing again. Fast forward to today, I own a PS5, an Xbox Series X, and now a Switch 2 that my wife got me for my Birthday. She bought my Mario: Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. She also bought me the Switch 2 pro controller. Since I started playing Zelda yesterday I cannot put it down! This game is an absolute masterpiece! The switch 2 is an amazing console too (even though I keep mixing up the button layout because I’m so used to playing PS5 lol) If I had any gripe at all, it would be Nintendo charging an extra $10 for the welcome tour game. For a multi billion dollar company to not include that with a $450 console is so absurd it almost made me knock a complete star off of my review! I also wish battery life was a tad better, but playing while being plugged in just isn’t a big deal. Also, I mostly been playing in docked mode anyway. If you’re on the fence and never owned a switch 1, I say just go for it! I’m so grateful my wife bought me mine!

Not for Me But Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did I wait for over an hour on the release day? (It wasn't that bad.) Yes. Was it worth it to see the surprise on my 14-year-old's face when they saw it the next day? Yes. Graphics are great, crisp, clear and vibrant. The increased screen size is a win. The bigger screen does not make the console feel bulky, so that is a win. The new Mario Kart game has converted my wife, who is not a video game enthusiast, into a fan. So I would call it a win. If you can get your hands on a console, do it. You will not regret it.

Finally!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me about a month and a half since release to finally get one, and despite the criticism, negative reviews that have nothing to do with the quality of the product, or the general skeptics out there, this is the best handheld gaming system hands down! Yes, not having an OLED display is a bit of a downer, but the advantages far exceeds the one shortcoming. For instance, HDR support, 4K resolution with up to 120hz refresh rate, and backwards compatibility (with a couple of rare exceptions). Mario Kart World is incredible! Even original Switch games see a marked improvement in performance. Legend of Zelda:Tears of the Kingdom with sharper visuals and 60 FPS? Yes, please! Even New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe has improved performance. If you’re hesitant about buying it because of the price, I understand. If you’re the occasional gamer who is only looking to pass the time on a layover, skip it. Just use your phone. For everyone else, what are you waiting for? There’s two – no, one still in stock at your local Best Buy! But I’d hurry. This one older lady is circling around it like a vulture. Never mind, it’s still there! So what are you waiting for? Get yourself a Switch 2. Like, now.

Got it on release day ... (adult gamer)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.... and while I am happy to have bought it, I admit that the true benefit of the upgrades are limited to a few games and far less spectacular than I hoped for. Sure, it's still a portable system and processing power relative to battery life are naturally limited. Some improvements (i.e., 4K support) require an external monitor anyway and with that to be plugged in. When on the run, the battery life is okay and not great. Nintendo sure have a hit on their hands, but it's by no means mandatory over the previous OLED version. (The larger screen is nice but makes it less portable and isn't OLED either. I do apprecciate the "true" black of the OLED which the Switch 2 doesn't have.)

Switch2
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch 2 is hands down the best console Nintendo has ever released. From its sleek design to its unmatched performance, this system delivers an immaculate experience for both casual players and serious gamers alike. One of the most impressive upgrades is the video quality. With vibrant visuals and a crystal-clear display, the Switch 2 offers the best screen Nintendo has ever delivered on a handheld hybrid console. Whether docked or handheld, every game looks stunning and plays buttery smooth. Performance-wise, this system is everything fans hoped for. Faster load times, smoother frame rates, and a stronger battery life make it not just an improvement but a complete evolution of the original Switch. From action-packed shooters to cozy farming sims, every genre shines. Nintendo also nailed it with its enhanced Joy-Con feel, stronger online support, and a refreshed user interface that feels modern and intuitive. It’s clear they listened to the community and brought the best of everything into one console. Simply put, the Nintendo Switch 2 is immaculate. It sets a new standard for what a hybrid gaming system can be and it’s a must-have for any gamer.
