Basically the same as the switch but better across the board. Only complaint is you can't get streaming services anymore. And a couple indie games don't run well, but they don't run well on PC either

I’ve had the original switch since 2020 and the oled since 2025. Though i love oled, the switch 2 is a nice upgrade! The large screen looks great and in my opinion looks amazing! I love the larger joycons & the magnetic attachment is so much better then the slide rails.

Great system. Nintendo picked up their game and brought us something that plays smoothly, offers great screen size and unmatched playability from a handheld system. And let’s not forget its ability to connect to the big screen offering 4k quality graphics.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a definite upgrade over its predecessor. With the larger 1080p screen, the larger joy cons that magnetically attach to the console itself, the better graphics, and faster load times, it's truly a joy to play. And the original Switch games even perform and look better. For instance, Smash Bros Ultimate has much faster load times. Totally recommend the upgrade if you can afford it!

This was my second Nintendo product I owned, coming from the Switch Lite this thing is so much better all around, I enjoy the screen a lot which enhances my playing experience so much more to the point I feel engaged to pick it up and play the games on it more so. The Joy Cons are good, not the best but definitely an upgrade compared to what I was coming from before, they feel more responsive and I haven't noticed any stick drift yet while using it which is also a big positive. The device is great, if you're on the fence about spending that much money for a gaming console that's totally understandable, but putting it into something like this where you can game on the go or on the big screen via the dock is worth the investment as long as you take care of it.

I'm so shocked at how good this system is. This upgrade to the Switch 1 is shaping up to be the future for on the go gaming playing AAA games. I look forward to the Switch 2's future, and especially a OLED version with a better battery!

I held off buying one for a while. I told myself I wasn't going to get one until the new Tomodachi Life game came out as I assumed it was going to be a switch 2 exclusive, but it was not. I hate the road Nintendo is going down by locking down their USB c port with an encryption key, no oled screen. BUT I really wanted to play Pokopia and I have to say I do really like the console. While not an oled the screen quality is still pretty good and it runs my switch 1 games SO much better than my oled switch which simultaneously makes me mad and happy at the same time. Anyways, if you want it you should just get it. It's a Nintendo console so it's good no matter what (yes even the wii u was good imo lol)

Bigger and more powerful thoughtful design to fix problems people had with the original switch like the kickstand and having charge ports on top and bottom of the console the battery life does feel rather short in handheld mode but overall its a worth upgrade in my opinion and some games even get free performance updates like Pokémon scarlet and violet that make playing them on the switch 2 the way to go

My time with switch 2 from a Zelda fan

I will say I bought this as a better Switch 1 and I’m fine with that. I game on everything and the only thing I touched on switch1 is Zelda botw and totk. These games on switch 2 look very clear and more detailed. When you’re just running through the woods I seem to see a lot more beetles on trees than I remember seeing before. The same for grasshoppers, hightail and hearty lizards. The clarity makes them more visible and possibly a little more distance for pop in. I was surprised that the switch 2 still has a lot of pop in and I didn’t notice much of a difference between switch 1 and 2. One way I get weapons is jump off a high place and glide down on top of a hinox and steal the weapons from around his neck. I don’t notice much of the difference with the pop in when I do this. There’s definite frame rate improvement. When fighting labels I seem to parry easier and pull the bow out quick and aim for there head quicker and more Accuracy. Timing seems to work better on parries with guardians also. The companion Nintendo app for your phone only available with switch 2 versions of the game is a game changer and I love it. So far I’ve only played the 2 Zelda’s and they each had a $10 upgrade fee to get switch 2 versions which were worth it for me.

Premium feel, love the big screen, Switch 2 games are a nice step up, and it plays all my Switch 1 games great. Battery life is a bit underwhelming though.

The Nintendo Switch 2 feels like the upgrade the original Switch always deserved. After spending time with it, the difference is noticeable almost immediately—not just in graphics, but in overall performance, speed, and how premium the experience feels compared to the original Nintendo Switch. The first thing that stands out is the performance boost. Games load significantly faster, menus feel smoother, and everything just feels more responsive. On the original Switch, there were moments where loading times or frame dips could take you out of the experience, especially in larger games. With the Switch 2, gameplay feels much more stable and polished. Whether you’re jumping into a fast-paced multiplayer game or exploring a huge open world, the system feels like it keeps up effortlessly. Speed is another major improvement. From booting up the console to opening games and navigating menus, everything feels quicker and more refined. It gives the entire system a modern feel that the original Switch was starting to lose as newer hardware came out. Waiting around feels minimal, and switching between games or features feels much more seamless. The larger screen is one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades. Coming from the original Switch, the difference is surprisingly noticeable. Games feel more immersive, text is easier to read, and handheld mode feels much more enjoyable overall. The bigger display makes colors and environments stand out more, making even familiar games feel refreshed. It genuinely feels like Nintendo focused on making handheld gaming feel better without losing what made the Switch special in the first place. Compared to the original Nintendo Switch, this feels like a far bigger leap than just a small hardware refresh. The original Switch was revolutionary for its time because of the hybrid concept, but the Switch 2 improves almost every part of the experience. It feels less like a slight upgrade and more like the system finally catching up to what players hoped the Switch could eventually become. If the original Switch introduced the idea, the Switch 2 feels like Nintendo fully perfected it. Overall, the Nintendo Switch 2 feels faster, stronger, and more refined in nearly every way. The improved performance, quicker speeds, and larger screen make a huge difference in day-to-day use. If you’ve been using the original Switch for years, the upgrade feels immediately noticeable and absolutely worth experiencing. It keeps everything people loved about the Switch while making it feel more modern, smoother, and genuinely exciting again.

Definitely a upgrade from the switch or even the OLED model. I feel like this is what the switch set out to be originally, love the mouse feature and the refined feel of the joycons when in handheld mode, battery life leaves more to be desired, but with this new display and power I can understand the speed of battery drain.

Overall, this is a great device. It feels powerful and handles the newest games really well, which is a big plus. Being able to play the latest titles smoothly is definitely the main reason to upgrade. That said, it’s a little too big for my hands. I actually preferred the OLED model because of the screen, battery life, and smaller form factor. It just felt more comfortable to hold for longer sessions. I was also really excited about some of the new features, especially GameShare. It’s a great idea and has a lot of potential. However, not all of the games I want to play with others are compatible yet. I’m hoping more titles become GameShare-supported in the future. Overall, it’s a strong system with great performance and exciting features, but I still appreciate the comfort and battery life of the OLED model.

I have been really enjoying my Nintendo switch for the past 2 months that I've had it I do recommend getting it for yourself as a little playing device that's powerful and small only problem is battery dies fairly quick but other than that I have no complaints.

Besides the popular cons about battery life. I have been enjoying my time with this new nintendo switch. I appreciate that everything on it is much snappier: the store, gameplay, 120hz feature. I thought I would’ve minded the matte black look to it but I think I’m okay with it as it looks more clean and mature. For the price I’d say it’s competitive when you compare to other handhelds, as this one just works when you want to play it and of course is able to be played docked or with joycons removed (table top). All in all, coming from my switch 1 I really notice and appreciate the differences/upgrades in this Nintendo switch 2.

I was skeptical about upgrading from switch 1 to thr switch 2 as i don't use the 1st too much. But oh boy am I glad I upgraded, I'm playing the switch more than ever. It looks amazing and thr screen is much bigger. Great performance when hooking up to TV as well!

Bigger, Blacker, and necessary if you want to play any of the new games. Which we did. There are no great changes except the screen is bigger and the default controllers are black. It feels more like enough time has passed since the original came out and someone at Nintendo wanted a yacht. If you’re looking for reviews on if the Switch 2 is worth it there are some great deep dives a quick Google search away. If you want one and can afford it, just buy it, you’re going to anyway.

I bought it for my 9yo and he's happy with it. Compared to the first Switch, this one is bigger and the picture quality looks better. I don't know much about it but everyone plays it and its great when you have family over. One of the things my kid likes about it is the way the controllers snap of instead of sliding off. Overall fun, but i also heard if you use third party attachments it could disable the switch and games are only digital???
