I was debating getting a 2DSXL since i miss having a handheld console. The switch is that and then some. I absolutely love having this thing for its portability. I dont play too much on tv, but the little i did, i enjoyed as well.

If you already are familiar with Nintendo sales practices, that's fine. This review isn't for you. For those new, getting into it, buying a Nintendo Switch is a great purchase. Your kids will absolutely love it, they'll take it with them, and play with friends on the go (with the one system). They'll enjoy playing it on the big screen, and having the freedom of mobility. However, if your kids are into Call of Duty, and FP Shooter games? This may not be the console, as with great mobility, comes great sacrifice. This does not have the highest framerates, the highest graphics capabilities, or the highest rated online communities for those types of games. But all that aside, it's a great Nintendo console, that perhaps the whole family will love. You thought you bought the cheapest console, currently on the market, that's super popular with the kids, so why the: "expect to pay?" You can rarely find a Nintendo game for less than $50. And I don't mean new, I mean at all. If you invest the $300+, expect to invest $600+ on games, if you want a full library. You'll also want to invest in a pro controller or two, if you want more than one player regularly. As you see, I didn't knock a star, because I went into it expecting all this, I'm just saying you should too.

Amazing device easy to hold and use definetily worth the price

If you can find one, I highly recommend picking it up. It's a great console. Well built, looks great, and okay battery life for what it does out of the dock. I am excited for the future of the Switch and cannot wait for more games.

I highly recommend for users who enjoy the games available on the switch. I have a friend who has had multiple issues with joycon drift, but luckily have not seen it yet (I've only had it for a few weeks). It is great for on the go and for playing at home and when playing a game alone and with others. I have taken it with me while traveling and played at home on the TV and as a handheld and it works really well in all scenarios. The only complaint is that the battery can drain fairly quickly. As an example, when I went traveling, I brought the switch and didn't end up using it for ~2 weeks. Unfortunately when I tried to turn it back on, it was out of battery. Because of this, I recommend just leaving it in the charger if you know you are not going to use it so it stays charged. It is fairly simple to switch between single and multiplayer and it is seamless to switch between hand-held and using it on the TV or just using the screen. I admit that the quality is very good when using the tv and it is harder to see some of the subtler details on the switch screen. I have a large 4k tv and it works very well with it. I admit that I bought this originally for one particular game (Fire Emblem Three Houses) and decided to also get Diablo to play with others. I think that it was well worth it especially since it looks like there might be more games coming out on the switch in the future. However, if I did not already want to play these games (and if I didn't already know that I would enjoy them after playing on my friend's switch), then I would have a harder time using it. It is also nice to be able to download games and it has an SD slot for additional memory. It can take a while to download the games, but you can also just buy the actual game card for it. You can also use the switch in airplane mode to conserve battery.

I have had this for a few weeks, and I am typically not a gamer, but I love this! I love the mobility of it more than just having to play on your TV. Lots of fun, and easy to use.

I've been gaming for over 20 years and have had the privilege of playing every Nintendo console released in America. I must say that the Switch is by far my favorite. As with most new consoles there aren't many games out yet, but the somewhat early port of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe really has me excited about this console. I take my Switch to work and almost always have another co worker wanting to race. It is fantastic at creating a fun atmosphere in the break room. I feel like I live in a Switch commercial every time I take a break at work.

They fixed the issues with improved battery life and no more joy con drift. I bought this as a second switch so our kids can have their own to use and they love it. Such an amazing console.

It's a shame that Nintendo can never/does never keep up with the demand for their products. I managed to get a pre-order for this console the night it was announced, and have had it since then. Most people will get this for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is a really, really amazing game. I wasn't interested at first until I watched my sister play her copy. I had never been that into the Zelda franchise before, but now I'm thinking about going back and playing some older titles. Zelda and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are a lot of fun, and the portability of the console is great. I was able to play Mario Kart on the train a few weeks ago on the way home from out of town, which is amazingly cool for a "home" console. I think Nintendo has passed through the growing pains of the Wii U. "Switch" isn't even that terrible of a name, hahaha. All that said, if you're not interested in either of those games, you may wanna hold off on purchasing this. There are other games available, but not "big" ones so much. Splatoon 2 is coming out in July, and the next Super Mario game comes in October. There are also Yoshi, Kirby, and Pokemon games announced for next year. My point is, you could wait on this for more games to come out. There are some great ones coming. Hopefully they get around to adding a Virtual Console to the system as well, so we can play older games on it. If you want to play Zelda and Mario Kart now though, go for it. It's a great console and more amazing games are coming soon. If you just want to play Zelda and no other future games that were announced at E3, pick up a used Wii U and sell it when you're done. Mario Kart 8 is also available on Wii U, and the "Deluxe" subtitle on the Switch version just means that all the DLC from the Wii U release is included. All that is available with the Wii U version, to my understanding (for an additional cost) but the Switch is portable and has a higher resolution. Oh also, it wasn't clear to me from demonstrations or their presentation, but the Switch tablet does have a touch screen. Then the "Joy Con" controllers are detachable, and there's also a wireless Pro Controller option, which is optional, but I recommend it if you've got the money (around $60.)

The switch is one of the best consoles i purchased can take it anywhere
