Who needs another rave review of the Switch? I've owned every major video game system and many minor ones since the early 90's, this one is solidly ahead of the pack but from strictly a hardware standpoint, I wouldn't put it on top. It does everything it promises to, but it's the least excited I've been for a console since well, I bought a WiiU. While I'm glad Nintendo made something that indie developers are able to port their games to, at this point I know I'm only ever buying a Nintendo console to play a handful of first party games. That experience so far, has been phenomenal, and recommending Zelda and Mario isn't necessary, that is why you're getting a Switch in mid-2018. But I can't help but feel like for $300 this is hard to recommend over a cheaper Xbox One S if I only had to have one system. It gets even harder to stomach when you factor in the $70+ controllers and the $60 Nintendo games that almost never go on sale. I suppose it depends on who you are, where you are in life and what you want out of a gaming console, but the Switch feels like a compromise as a portable system and as a home console. The system itself just doesn't have the same build quality that I would expect from Nintendo hardware, it reminds me of a cheap Android tablet. The Wii and WiiU felt like they were made with nicer build materials, the matte plastic all over this bad boy and the dock are just kind of stale. This is an easy 5 star at $200 which it will inevitably get to, but this version of the console feels like the original fat DS to me and I'm looking forward to the DS Lite equivalent for the Switch.

An amazing video game for an adult and kids, we all enjoy playing super Mario, easy to carry and easy to set up so far we are happy with this video game

Bought it for my daughter who is in her 20's. She loves it. The system is portable so you can play on tv and take on road. Great graphics and games are fun. The only thing I would say they could improve on would be the control that comes with it. Way too small for anyone who is average adult hands. Made for kids but if you want to appeal to adults I would say make bigger controller and lower price on system and separate controllers why high for $70.00 per controller.

We have been eyeing this console for a couple of years. Each time we decided this is the year they were very hard to find around Christmas. With our kids being a bit older now the switch seems to have many kid friendly options for games and interactions so we finally got our hands on one. Too bad I missed the bundle with Mario Kart but still a great deal compare to other consoles.

I've only used the Switch as a portable and, for that, it is fantastic. Used to have a PSP and this is leagues better. Haven't noticed the battery issue as I almost always have access to a USB or outlet.

We got this for our son since he’s been wanting since for a very long time. He loves to play Splatoon 2 on this and it’s difficult for us to make him stop to take a break. I would give this five stars!

It's a great system....in need of a refresh. Nintendo got it right making a portable console system. I like playing on tv....until I go to bed, then can take with me. Performance wise though....it needs an update. Most games are stripped down or run poorly for current AAA's titles. Screen is low res. Keep the design, but time to fix the flaws.

This switch was a replacement switch for one that were bought in July. The original one did not even make it 4 months, and we hardly used it during those four months (maybe less than 15 times). It was obviously a manufacturer's issue. Because we bought the warranty, they were able to replace it with a brand new one, BUT I had to purchase a new service warranty gwith the new switch. You would think that Nintendo would stand behind their product and replace the original even if I didn't have the warrenty. I'm hoping this replacement does not have the same issue bc we bought a game that my son loves, and he had been playing with the switch EVERY DAY. It's heady that it's portable and that you can play with more than one person even in its portable move. Now that the kids are using it, I would have to say that this was a good investment

Absolutely love this system, and would love to buy it as a gift. Based on previews, I wan't sold until I finally decided to buy it. Needless to say, I'm hooked and have been recommending it to everyone.

I have three boys and they all love to play video games. But they all have different things they’re into, so they rarely play together. Games like Mario Kart and Smash Bros has them playing some brotherly competition. The switch is portable which is great. It’s one of the features I like and I like that the controllers are rechargeable. It’s a great buy.

Works wonderfully beautiful quality excellent experience

The Switch is awesome for kids on car rides, or just needing that bit of quite time to yourself. It is also nice hooking it up to your tv for some family time.

The Switch is exactly what we hoped it would be. Easy to play on the tv and easier to carry along. The remotes, when taken apart, are a but uncomfortable at first, since they are small, but you adjust.

If you are on the fence about the Nintendo Switch. Don't be. I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this thing. The design is so slick and intuitive that I was actually sorry that I waited as long as I did to pick it up. But now is as good a time as ever to jump into the Nintendo family. If you were waiting because the game collection was small, now is perfect. The console has a steadily growing library of Nintendo games as well as some Triple A titles on it. Recently you just got DOOM, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein 2. And if you know anything about the Switch, that means you can take all of these games with you in travel/handheld mode. That is a lot of gameplay value in a portable package. The ability to play the Switch in a multitude of modes makes it worth the purchase alone. But so does the user friendly interface, the included accessories of the dock and the Joy cons. If I had anything to knock the switch for, it would be for the flimsy kickstand for tablet / table top mode and the battery life. The battery is decent and will get you a few good hours of gaming but it's not going to last all day. The kickstand also is mounted to the side of the console as opposed ot the center. It's also thin and flimsy feeling. Mine has not broken, but it seems as though it is not extremely stable at all times. I would definitely recommend the Switch to a casual gamer and even some more hardcore gamers as the library continues to grow. There's already some awesome games planned for the console to come out in the next year, and the Switch shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Other than the extra battery life in handheld and the new piracy protection its the same as any other switch. That being said its a pretty good switch and I use handheld a lot.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my twin girls. Have not used yet but they are always bugging my older son to play on his Xbox so I know this will be a hit.

A perches you will definitely enjoy every moment of owning it. Well made and the battery will last you for the majority of a standard trip of several hours.
