The Switch is a great little console/handheld hybrid. It works great on the go and connected to the TV. One concern is Nintendo being Nintendo as they tend to go against what Microsoft/Sony have established as gaming standards (online communities, achievements, etc). I also hope there is plenty of first party games coming down the road as Zelda is a true masterpiece and if other games follow that trend they have a bright future. But currently the games are really limited, so if you're not buying Zelda, I'm not really sure what you are going to play. The move to cartridges is also interesting as this will limit how powerful they can make games, but if Zelda is anything to measure on things look good. Also, beware the left Joy-Con bug. If you have anything between you and the Switch it can act weird when connected to the controller dock (even if your leg or something is in between). The Switch is a brilliant design and everything works well as far as various Joy-Con configurations (attached, detached, sideways, play on TV, attached to grip, etc). As a previous owner of the Wii and Wii U, I feel much better owning a Switch at first than I did with those consoles.

So the new Nintendo switch is out and well at this point in time its really not much to look at with a lack of variety of impressive launch titles I can't complain much there because all you need right now the legend of Zelda.... But a great multiplayer game should have been available too. Unfortunately there's also an annoying joy con issue that likes to randomly disconnect from the system. The is a fix our out now but that requires sending in the joycon. There's also the lack of virtual console and many other things that will eventually be available. Otherwise I'm really enjoying the new console and enjoy playing whether on the tv or handheld mode..... Coming soon Mario kart 8 deluxe!

This is my favorite console available right now. I love the matte texture of the console itself and the Joy-Con controllers. I do wish the Joy-Con had bigger buttons though and that the sticks had more travel to them. Battery life is pretty good. Mario is my favorite video game franchise and this system has a great selection of Mario games in various genres. I do feel that the system should be a little cheaper now that it has been on the market for 6 years and is using positively ancient tech. I definitely recommend it though!

After using the switch for a few years, it really is a revolutionary console. The fact that you can quickly take it on the go is a game changer. I highly recommend getting one if you haven’t already!

Awesome system! It has great games and it is great to be able to bring it on the go. I primarily use the Switch docked, but it is great to be able to bring it along. The first party games are the best and it is continuously getting more and more third party support.

The Nintendo Switch has taken over as my son's favorite system. Our Xbox one rarely gets played anymore. Though the switch died connect to the TV, I find that my son and from what I hear, his friends, prefer to play handheld. Obviously it's also great for road trips. I was able to get it at a time when it was sold out everywhere but Best Buy was restocked and delivered it promptly! Weber had it a few months now, with no issues. The battery life is good and the gameplay is fantastic. My only concern is I didn't originally get a protection plan to do I used the chat to add it. While the customer service rep told me I am now covered, I have never received any confirmation on documentation for the protection play. Luckily, Best Buy's website emails the chat transcript, so I do have that as proof should any issues arise

8-bit NES was my first console - purchased w/ paper route money when I was 14. Over the years Nintendo has been hit or miss with me (and many others) when it's come to their "innovations", but so far the switch is a total hit. I *usually* get to game on the TV, but if someone else in the house wants to watch something, I can take it out of the cradle and play elsewhere. The built-in screen is large enough that even my middle-aged, computer-squinter eyes can make everything out fine. Usually, Nintendo's game selection on a new console is *terrible* for at least the first year, but I was pleased to find several games I looked forward to playing were available at or soon after launch. (Must. Resist. Buying. Skyrim. *AGAIN*.) The only negative thing I could really say is with regard the construction of the console itself - the kickstand feels like it could snap off pretty easily (which is extra scary, since it doubles as the memory expansion slot cover!), but aside from that I've got zero complaints.

Great fun for the whole family! It's great how you can either just play with the switch as a handheld screen device or you can hook it up to the tv! The controllers are a little on the small side put you eventually get use to it.

Great product! It is portable and can be docked and plugged into the television. It looks like there are more games coming out for it too. I wasn't sure that would happen and why I waited to buy this. Highly recommend this gaming console.

Finally got this for our son. When absolutely loves it. He can connect it to his TV or take it on the go. Now long car rides are more enjoyable for him. Lots of games to choose from and we just download them right onto his switch.

I haven't been a "gamer" for many years. Aside from an Xbox One S which I use primarily as a Hulu/Netflix machine (and occasionally play NBA 2K or Madden on when I have guests over), I haven't purchased a console in nearly a decade. I impulsively purchased the Switch after hearing much fanfare. I was initially skeptical of the power that a hybrid console could provide, and whether the Switch would flop like the Wii U. Fortunately, I was wrong. When docked, the Switch is an absolute powerhouse. Games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey are visually stunning in 1080p and 60fps and will make your inner-child smile. Although the quality of the games drops to 720p and 59fps when in portable mode, they still look and feel fantastic. Even graphically demanding titles like Fortnite render quite nicely. The novelty of being able to just pick up your console from its dock and take it on the go has yet to wear off. Another innovation is the Switch's Joy-Con controllers, which makes multiplayer gaming a literal snap. This is a welcome addition if you've ever undergone the expenditure of buying peripherals for Nintendo's competitors. The two drawbacks of this console are its battery life and a barebones operating system. Although the Switch is portable, this isn't your Gameboy Advance of yesteryear. Battery life is pretty bad, and games like Fortnite or Doom can drain your battery in as little as 90-120 minutes. If you are buying this console for a long commute or because you frequently travel for work, be prepared to invest in a specialized portable charger. As for the operating system, it doesn't have any apps like Netflix or Hulu. These drawbacks are arguably minor and will probably be solved in future software/hardware iterations. As a gaming console, the Switch is a breath of fresh air in a space where innovation has been lacking for some time. Nintendo managed to produce something which intersects fun and power unseen since the release of the Gamecube nearly 20 years ago. Nintendo is back.
