Right now, the Switch feels like any new console—the software library is rather small, the hardware is unfamiliar, and the OS does not feel fully fleshed out. But for me, the 2017 line-up has enough games I want that I decided to get a Switch now rather than waiting. THE CONS: Appropriately enough, the biggest con for me was the Joy-Cons. Specifically, I was one of the lucky few to receive defective Joy-Cons that would lose connection with the console if gripped to tightly or moved too far across the room. I contacted Nintendo, though, and they were incredibly helpful and quick in setting up a free repair order. It also sounds like they changed the manufacturing process, so new Switches should not have this issue. My only other hardware complaints are minor by comparison. I wish there were a charging port on top of the Switch, like on the Wii U gamepad, so I could sit it upright while charging. Also, the Joy-Con controls feel closer to a 3DS or PSP than a full console controller, so while the Joy-Con Grip makes them feel more like a full controller, I might still end up buying a separate pro controller (an extra $70!). On the software side, things just feel rushed out. The OS lacks such features as a web browser, video streaming services, or even the ability to customize the order of games on your home screen. None of those is a deal-breaker for me, as that is all software, and Nintendo has a good history of adding more home screen functionality over time. THE PROS: System absolutely delivers on its promise of offering console-like gaming on the go. The Joy-Con connection to the screen feels secure and satisfying, the screen itself looks great, and I have not seen any frame rate issues. On top of being able to play it like a handheld system, the TV dock is also incredibly small (you could probably fit eight inside an Xbox One), so you can easily take the entire thing—console, Joy-Cons, dock, HDMI cable, and AC adapter—to a friend's house, hotel, etc. Past Nintendo consoles were small enough to be kind of portable, but this is the first one that feels portable by design. On the software side, the OS, while rather bare-bones at the moment, is very clean and incredibly fast (a welcome change from the Wii U). Friends Lists are way easier to manage, not only thanks to Nintendo Account integration, but also because can exchange friend requests with another Switch in the room over Bluetooth. The entire Switch OS can be controlled with a controller or the touch screen, the latter of which is very nice when you have to type, for instance, a wi-fi password. Games are games, but it is nice to have full access to the home menu and system settings without closing your active game. TL;DR: If you like the Switch's launch line-up, none of the early issues should prevent you getting one now. If you are looking at cross-platform games, the Switch's portability gives it a key advantage. If you are only interested in games coming out later this year, it might make sense to wait.

Amazing system for kids and casual gamers. Easy to hook up and operate. The Switch is my wife's favorite system because she can access all her favorite NES and SNES games. It's Lightweight, easy to transport, and can be used standalone as a handheld so it's also become our go-to system to take with us on family vacations.

Presentation/Availability: Product was well packaged with no broken/opened box. There weren’t any available at the store. Was purchased online and pickup at store. Performance/Gameplay: My kids love it!!!! Is stronger that it looks on its construction materials. I charged quickly and worked perfectly since the first-time powered on. I also purchased additional memory card, case and pro-controller (recommended). Best of all, is not only for gaming, there are some other cool stuff that you can do with it. I had no problem at all picking up the item at the ‘online orders’ counter. Merchandise was available as I purchased it and the employee was very friendly. Customer service: Very good customer service. I was greeted by an employee as soon as I walked through the door.

Got this for my son on Christmas and he’s been using it since. He takes great care of it and he plays on it everyday. Batter is long lasting screen is clear and it’s super easy to use.

We absolutely love our switch! I’d been wanting one for so long and the times I was willing to pull the trigger on one, they were sold out or hard to come by. We were bummed we couldn’t get a bundle console, but that’s okay. We’ve already had a lot of fun with it and look forward to getting a bunch more games!

I finally gave in to my sons repeated requests for a Nintendo Switch. It has kept his attention so far. The portability makes it great to take on trips. The battery life surprised me by how long it lasts. I would recommend this product but I would make sure to purchase a screen protector to reduce scratches. Just a reminder that this purchase will require more purchases such as games but many titles start @ $19.99

Great product. Compact, convenient and fun for all. When the whole family is tired of trying to figure out what to watch on TV we just decide what to play on the Switch!

Bought it for my sister and she is in love with it and can’t put it down.

I bought this game for my son for his 9th birthday. He loved it. It's great gift. He can travel with it. Buy different video games for it. The price is reasonable for the value you get.

The ONLY issue is it needs more games. I am sure they will eventually get all the good games. Destiny and Madden would be huge on the switch. My favorite feature is the ability to give the Wife the TV and keep playing my game.

I love the Wii Switch. It is easy to hold and play. I love that it can connect to the TV and have multiple players. Now when the grandkids come to visit we have fun playing together!

I love my Nintendo switch . I like how it can be handheld but get this u can stand the screen up and play or hold it like a handheld. I like how it comes ah a controller piece to make it into a controller . I love how it connects to the TV and we all can play and I I am love how my family and friend s can also connect to me and play.

In my opinion this is the best way to play switch games. I love to be able to take it with me or just enjoy the games on my tv. Battery life is amazing, this is the best version of the Switch

This console is a great concept and design. Love the fact it can be used as a hand-held unit or a docked console unit. I actually use it docked way more than hand-held mode. The games are really fun. Bought Mario Kart, Zelda, and Mario Odyssey and I have enjoyed all of them. The Kart game is fun to play against others in the house while Mario Odyssey (can play two players if you like) and Zelda are really fun to play alone. They both have very expansive worlds to explore and fight enemies/collect things. Be ready to spend a LOT of time on Zelda and Odyssey. The only suggestion I would make for the docking station is to make it enclose the Switch unit. If you press down (especially with one hand) on the power button while docked, it can tilt out of the docking station.

I wouldn’t consider myself a “gamer”, as a Gen X’er, but today’s gaming revolution reminds me of my days with Atari and the original Nintendo. But the quality of gaming, the enhanced chips generating incredible graphics, and the flexibility of play influenced my recent purchases of a VR set and the Nintendo Switch! The Switch is a game-changer for Nintendo, which explains the difficulty obtaining the product and the shares of Nintendo soaring! I live the flexibility of play - handheld console or your Smart TV! Admittedly, I bought for the handheld version - and Super Mario Odyssey again brought me back a few years! So much F-U-N!
