Switch back to Nintendo for Fun

To paraphrase Will Riker, "tough little Switch" Mostly play on the go. Havent had any joycon drift issues (personally) and the switch store consistently has (at times even free) cheap games for purchase. Was worth the price at the time (yes, it was the 2nd model, and now we have Lite and Pro, out). IF you only play on the go, a Light would probably make more sense for cost, but I love the switch.

Great Portable Game Console

He's had chances to play with his friends on their consoles many times and they always have a great time playing together. the console is so portable and easy to connect to any modern TV with HDMI inputs, so not many cables to bring along. Plus they can use multiple controllers on one unit so many can play a game together. So far everything looks great, all parts were included and setup was easy enough such that he started playing his games in about 30 minutes after opening the box. Obviously specific to Nintendo games, but there are so many to choose from that are fun to play. Can buy the cartidges/memory cards or you can download games (for same price). Note that if you want to download more than one game, you'll need to purchase a SD memory card to store them on. Memory card prices have come down so much over the years, that you can get high capacity cards for nominal prices. Graphics are great even on very large screen TVs.
