Let me just start this review off by saying, if you are hesitant on buying the Nintendo Switch I will honestly tell you don't be. Because this this has to be one of the best video game systems l have ever purchased, and I'm sure you will love it just the same. I'm writing this review extremely late. I bought the Switch on (4/27/17) so I could play my couple of Breath of the Wild that I bought on launch day, and to play the newly released Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Needless to say I love the Switch. The last Nintendo system I bought was the 3DS, and before that was a GameCube. So I missed two generations of Nintendo consoles that being Wii and the Wii U. Both had there share of great games but they didn't appeal to me or what I wanted out of a console until now. The Switch has made me a Nintendo fan all over again. The future of Nintendo is bright with the Switch.

Great gaming system, fun, handheld or on tv screen.

As a cutting edge game console, I am underwhelmed by the Nintendo Switch. Graphically, at this point, it doesn't seem to be much stronger than its predecessor. But as a Nintendo product, it's classic Nintendo. Lateral technology that tries to move forward in ideas and not merely power, to mixed results. It tries to be mobile, it tries to be social, and in doing so create a new paradigm of play, but doesn't - at this stage anyways - seem to be casting a clear vision on how to do so. Yes - the Nintendo published games will be fun, colorful, inventive, and hard to put down. But the third party experiences are what will really prove it in the long run. As is, the bare bones presentation, and rehashed games (Zelda, while amazing, is on another console with almost no discernible performance/graphical differences, Mario Kart 8 has a battle mode that could have easily just been DLC for the Wii U, and Splatoon 2 is a wait and see) means the desire to run out and find a console (or heaven forbid - overpay to a scalper) would be too hasty. I would encourage buyers to wait and see, and in the meantime enjoy another console from rivals Sony or Microsoft to hold you over if possible. The 3DS XL handles portability (and amazing gameplay experiences) beautifully, and the PS Vita already has the beautiful screen, dual analog sticks and amazing games to do the portable play really well. In fact, the Switch feels like a minor upgrade over that fantastic system. Don't rush, don't pay scalpers, just wait until you see a game that looks exciting to play. As is, a recommendation for Nintendo die hards and gaming fans, but the rest ought to just keep staying curious.

I was truly in tears in the back of my office when I received my order confirmation for my switch. I really could not believe my eyes (even if 10 million fireflies lit up the world as i fell asleep). It’s an awesome compact system and the display is beautiful! So happy with my purchase and worth every penny (all 29,999 of them).

Kids love and enjoy playing single or multiplayer. Easy to carry around as well.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son so we haven’t actually used it yet.

I bought it for my 10 year old nephew he loves it and it’s easy for him to play.

My kids love it. We took it on a long flight and kept the kids well entertained.

When I first viewed the Switch, I was a little skeptical having been burned by Nintendo after the Wii U debacle. While I was one of those that did enjoy the Wii U, the lack of software left a bad taste in my mouth about purchasing another Nintendo system. I got over my resistance to purchasing it and bought one a few weeks ago. I haven't been disappointed. The hardware's ability to turn into a home console and back to a handheld is very useful, and the compact size makes it easy to handle. The hardware is pretty hardy for a handheld, and the screen and processing power are rather impressive for a handheld. The quickness of switching between the console screen and a tv is almost instantaneous, and the issues that bog down disc based systems are non-existent for the Switch. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
