My son really liked being able to play his Switch on the plane ride that took us 9 hours.

After purchasing this product, it was amazing to spend a lot of time with the family. All of us like Mario and the new controls this console brings for the interaction. Highly recomendable.

The hardware in this console is fantastic. The screen is gorgeous and vibrant, buttons are responsive and lag-free. Control sticks feel great. The operating system is simple, fast, and responsive with super short load times. Big step up over the 3DS and Wii U. That said, I'm not a fan of holding the JoyCons (the little pop-out controllers) sideways. They're pretty tiny, and the shoulder buttons don't register reliably when pressed, which makes them pretty much useless for Mario Kart. If you intend on playing a lot of multiplayer games, I'd recommend investing in some better controllers. It also lacks the portability of the 3DS family of systems. While you can pop it out of its stand and take it anywhere, the battery life is short and it's kind of an awkward size. It's larger than a 3DS XL but smaller than an iPad. Wrapping it in a protective skin isn't an option if you plan on docking it regularly, and it's much too large to carry in your pockets. The library is a little lacking as well, though it's still early days. I found the new Zelda game a little underwhelming (after ~15 hours it starts becoming easy and same-y and I lost interest), and I had already logged a bunch of hours on Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. There's lots of great indie game offerings like Cave Story and Shovel Knight, but they're priced a little steeply considering the countless other platforms they're offered on. (I remember buying Cave Story+ on my original Wii for $12 in 2010. On the Switch, it's $29.99) All that said, this is a great piece of hardware with a lot of fantastic-looking games on the horizon. I just recommend doing a little investigating into its library first to see if what's on offer now and in the near future is right for you.

This console is the ultimate party machine. It is easy to use and understand and the portability is great. The battery life in the portable mode isn't the longest I've seen, but it is great for short bursts and not long gaming sessions as I think it is best in the docked mode. The games don't have the best ultra 4k graphics, but they don't need to when the console and games are just so enjoyable t play.

I bought this console for my nephew. So far, he loves playing on it. It's a fun experience for both mobile and at home play using the TV. I would definitely recommend this for your children.

Easy setup but hard to type on console...my 7 yr old loves it.

My son loves this system. Its compact enough to travel in the car/plane. I got the carrying case and it makes it very easy to keep up with all the necessities.
