This console is tremendous. It has a great form factor, comes with two controllers out of the box, and has a sleek user interface. However, the best feature of all is the ability to take the game I'm playing off of the TV and wherever I want. The ability to keep playing while someone watches a show or to take it to a friends house is underrated. I have had none of the reported issues and have amazing experiences with the games. I highly would recommend getting the Pro controller to supplement the experience. One of the best controllers I've ever used with a battery life lasting over a week of gameplay atleast.

Nintendo has always made great game systems. The Switch works as both a portable and console system, which can be quite handy. The Joy-Cons are reasonably comfortable to use and the first-party software is top-notch.

The Switch is a great piece of hardware that dunks all over the Wii U. Nintendo really made up for their lackluster showing of yesteryear. Anyways, if you can get this, you should get this! It's a great device that is excellent for road trips, on the go playing, in front of the TV, etc! It still doesn't have proper app support for things like Netflix, so I can't give it a perfect score, but it is definitely something you should still pick up!

Got for our 8 year old for christmas gift. He was so excited and absolutely loves it. Needs an adult to get it all setup. But easy to use for our 8 year old once it is all setup. Fun system with fun games.

Never too old for Nintendo [Switch]

I was skeptical about getting the Switch in the beginning, thinking that I had aged out of the Nintendo generation (I'm an 80's baby). But i would argue to say that if there was any age group that appreciates the nostalgia of the original Nintendo games and gets to relive them in their latest iteration, this is a must-have console. If all you do is play Mario Kart, Zelda, Smash Bros Ultimate, Pokemon, and Mario Bros. Deluxe (when it comes out), getting a switch will have been completely worth it. Definitely my go-to piece of hardware for any prolonged air-travel.

I basically stood in line for 4hrs to get this console. The box came with the switch, 2 controllers, AC adapter, TV stand and as a pleasant surprise an HDMI cable. The setup is very easy. Do I like this? Overall I would say Nintendo needs to expand in its current game library. As a portable machine it’s very good. However the moment you connect it to the TV and play 2 players then the remote feels way too small. I’m not sure if I would use the smaller controller and hope that Nintendo will make a full size controller. I do enjoy playing Mario Kart and Splatoon. It works great online as well!

before buying i read many reviews and had learned of some problems the system had but overall it is a fun system to play on although upon first starting it up it is pretty empty and devoid of much of anything but that's a good thing considering the system storage.

    Hesitant Pre-Order, Made a Believer

I came off being pretty bitter about Nintendo's final stand alone console the WiiU, the first Nintendo (or really console in general) I've sold off in disgust due to their actions and third parties alike. Knowing how people see Nintendo = Resell I preordered, and up until the last moment I wasn't sure if I'd keep it but I did. After getting it out of the box and setup I was pleasantly surprised to see how comfortable the device was, felt nice, familiar to my (and inside it is) Nvidia Shield tablet, yet minimalist and to the point. Easily configured and setup out of the box, a very fast and painless effort compared to other devices I own or have owned from game makers. It's a comfortable device to use either with the joycons on the device as an intended handheld that it is, or with the bracket to use it as a gamepad and play off the TV in even higher resolution. I just had Zelda Breath of the Wind for a couple weeks, so it was the real test bed. That game was easy to lose hours of time on and not realize it, and thankfully the comfort of the device didn't make it clear discomfort could happen, as it never did. I had runs as short as under 2 hours and as high as 6 on accident a day or two and everything went well. Easy on the eyes in either mode, comfortable in either mode to play using all buttons, solid audio in either style as well. Visually it's an appealing system with games. I've since imported a real copy(physical) of I Am Setsuna (it plays in English, French too), Blaster Master 0 download, and a physical copy of Binding of Isaac. Each has it's own visual and audio style and the system lends well to it. You have on one end a more technical sounding or 8bit throw back style, then with the RPG it has a really moving smooth piano score throughout that sounds like CD quality audio. The various visual styles all come off a crisp, smooth, non jarring, a real treat. The only complaints I can really throw at the device I can't dock a star for as they're not necessities. It would have been nice if you could charge the joycons via the bracket, but given the life they have docking them to the tablet isn't an issue. The kickstand is flimsy in back, you need to be on a flat surface or it could just tip over. I imagine if you're abusive you could pop it off, but it appears tabbed and could pop back in. Some have argued the system dock can scratch it, yes if you're rough it perhaps could, but if you put it in like a mature person straight in and not just toss it in at an angle grinding along the screen area it's fine. If that's a problem, so be it but you can get a glass screen protector or a nice sleeve for the dock itself by third party designers. The systems has a few little potential perceived physical flaws depending on personal usage, but where it counts inside, the display, the audio, the controls themselves it works like a charm.

I've been on the market for a Nintendo Switch for the past 2 years, but I've been hesitant/on the fence about it because of the lofty $300 price tag. However, this past year, with the release of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Switch, I just had to relive the experience that I once had way back when I played this game on the Nintendo Gameboy. So this past Black Friday, I decided to just go for it. After reading product reviews and other blogs, I quickly came to realize that Nintendo had just recently released an updated Switch with better hardware. And by hardware, I mean the battery. The original model included a battery which held a charge for 2.5-6.5 hours. The game system that comes with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, is likely that original model. The newer model is the exact same switch, from what I can tell, however it comes with a better battery. The newer batter can hold a charge from 4.5-9 hours. The unfortunate thing regarding the newer model is that currently, it does not come with a game. But, I decided to forgo getting a free game with a worse battery and instead purchased the new model. The important thing to know when shopping for a Switch is that the outside packaging (box) doesn't tell you which battery you are getting. So if you just grab one off the shelf, you won't know just by looking at the box if it is the old model or the new model. However, from what I have read online, you are able to tell based on the first 3 letters of the serial number. On the bottom of the box, locate the serial number. For the newer battery, look for the serial number that starts with XKW (not XAW). XAW is the old model, while XKW is the new model. Additionally, if you are buying an open box/used switch, you can tell which model you are getting based on the MOD number on the back of the unit. When looking at the back, look for where it says MOD, if you want the newer model, you want the HAC-001(-01) model. If it says the MOD is HAC-001, that is the older model. While you are essentially getting a discount by purchasing a Nintendo Switch with a game included at the same price as a Switch without a game, I personally think it's much better to get a console which comes with a longer battery charge.

I personally love the Nintendo switch and so does my son. They have plenty of games for everyone. Works great as a handheld device or playing on a big screen by using the Switch Dock. Easy to figure out and work with. My son is 4 and he plays it without any issues.

As I have to stay inside all days, having the switch is a game changer and turns my boring self-quarantine to be an enjoyable time. Plus, the switch also provides several fitness games and it actually works!! Very recommend!
