An Inpressive Nintendo Console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the Switch was announced, I thought it was just going to be another spin-off of the Wii/Wii-U; just more of the same from Nintendo. However, once everything was set up and played for just a few hours, I realized just how wrong I was. To me, the Wii was a gimmick, and the games were far too childish and boring for my liking. It’s motion control was groundbreaking, yet annoyingly unresponsive or too sensitive. It was a good idea, a good platform, sub par execution, and a whole lotta letdowns. However, the Switch is a new chance for Nintendo. The amount of power packed into this tiny console is something Nintendo has needed from the very beginning to keep up with their competition. It also did something incredible, and that was making a console that was amazingly detailed when played on the big screen, while being similarly detailed in its portable form on the go. The graphics are impressive, of that there is no doubt. The Joy-cons are a step in the right direction. Motion controls have been improved, but still not perfect. The center seems to shift often, forcing you to readjust your grip, even making some uncomfortable movements to keep control over the game. If there was a way to make sure the mechanism inside zeros out every once in a while would help in this respect. Also, these controllers are the smallest I think I have ever used. Even with the dock that allows both Joy-cons to connect into a single controller doesn’t seem to help. They are small and flat, and feel as if my hands fit awkwardly around it. I was forced to purchase a Pro controller because my hands would become cramped from the strange way my fingers needed to stretch to reach the shoulder buttons. It was just another expense for an already expensive console, and for an entirely unnecessary reason, and that is design. This is the only reason the Switch lost a star for me. This is a new console, so there isn’t a wide selection of games just yet, but with the way things have been going for me, I see myself buying games for the Switch for some time.

So far we love it (with an update)
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch has so many different gaming options all in one that we can switch between (probably why it's called a switch). We played games on our Android TV and got a bunch of fun attachments. All good so far!!!! 1 year Edit - Whelp we are now dealing with what the internet calls the "orange screen of death" after only a year of having it. It's not charging correctly and then today the only screen we could get was an orange screen....looked it up and apparently this is what happens when it detects a "catastrophic failure" hence "the orange screen of death". I have a replacement plan and will talk with Best buy and the geek squad but the fact that we're having to do this a year in is very frustrating. I guess better a year in than after the plan expires. Will update again with what happens.

Great Console, but have your wallet ready
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome console. I already had a PS4 and an Xbox one. I find myself on the move a lot more lately and was getting the itch for my childhood favorite games, Pokemon. The new version of the console has surprisingly great battery life. I’ve never had it die on me even after being playing for 6+ hours in handheld mode. The only drawback to this console is the price, and then the price of everything else you’re going to buy. Having an extra set of joycons isn’t essential, but it expands so many options for guest players and even yourself. Don’t get me wrong, if I could get Black Friday pricing on the accessories again I’d spend the money all over, but between the console, extra joycon, and games I bought, my wallet definitely felt it.

great console for my kid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful Nintendo switch which is so exciting, incredible and fun to play. It is so easy to use and the best part is you can play anywhere - at home connecting to your TV, in car, in flight, any outside areas. Kids can play with friends or alone. It comes up with the combination of home and handheld consoles. It's of great quality and comfortable to use as. You can play with many new games like Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, etc. The switch is so classic and decent size. Family along with kids can have fun with this switch playing for many hours. It's a portable switch where kids can enjoy without boring. Battery charge longs for many hours with good brightness. Amazing Nintendo switch console to play. I would like to recommend to many of my friends and colleagues. Worth buying it. I'm writing this review as part of a contest.

Great option for all ages
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The small, compact size is great for traveling on vacation when riding in car for long periods of time. The games are exciting & keeps kids occupied in road trips or when tired of tablets & TV at home.

The Little System That Could
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unless you're a gamer living under a rock, you've heard of the Nintendo Switch and have likely seen how successful it has been in the 7 months since its launch. It's getting 3rd party support from the major AAA 3rd party developers now. Nintendo has first party games that are fantastic and a couple are already on the short list for Game of the Year contenders. Add to that huge support from Indy developers and you have the recipe for one of the best gaming systems of all time. Time will tell for sure, but right now, Nintendo seem poised to return to those halcyon days of being a major player and not just a quirky novelty with the Switch. They are getting easier to come by, and the holidays are a perfect time to gift one to your family or yourself. Don't miss out on what is shaping up to be one of the great comebacks in gaming history!

Awesome console!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great and versatile console/handheld! What really makes the console is the exclusive games available on it like Zelda and Mario, but it’s mobility makes it great for playing with family and friends

Great Console
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The switch console is great. There are a ton of good games for it and this model has a better battery life that the 2017 and 2018 ones. That means more gaming on the go undocked which is always a great thing to have!

Simply Incredible, It's a game changer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must confess I love games. I’ve been playing for nearly 3 decades now since the Super Nintendo when I was a kid. I wasn’t particularly tied to Nintendo and probably fall more in-line as a Playstation fanboy. The system’s I’ve owned are Sega Genesis, Playstation 1, Nintendo 64, Playstation 3, and since then only PC gaming for me. I had portables like the GBA and PSP, but in this era of smartphones I can play small games to keep me entertained so I had no real interest in the Nintendo DS or 3DS. With the Switch things have changed. I don’t consider it for a powerhouse of gaming, that’s what I have a PC for. I value it for its functionality and the difference it can make in gaming. While Sony and Microsoft are pitting more powerful consoles against one another, Nintendo has tried changing games. I totally get that they are trying to capture lightning in a bottle again like they did with the Wii, but the Switch doesn’t feel like a typical gimmick. Of course the motion controls are here and yes, the portability is the major gimmick of the device. But as and adult with a family and a living space that needs to be shared, it’s amazing to be able to plug in the console to the dock play on the big screen and then be able to go mobile with it as needed. I’m someone who loved playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Skyrim, Fallout 4, GTA 4 & 5, Batman Arkham games, and other action/ adventure/ open world games. I logged over 100 hours in each game and well over 200 in Skyrim. When I got Fallout 4 I was thinking I would do the same. I found myself not able to play as much as I wanted because “Life”. With the Switch, I’m able to play Breath of the Wild where ever I want and after 2 weeks I’ve logged probably 30 hours alone. The Nintendo Switch represents a major potential for gaming. It’ll only be proven out by major support from game developers, and it first comes with Nintendo delivering their cast of characters and making it a sweet deal for said developers. This isn’t even considering the rumors of more functionality, such as augmented and virtual reality. Should you buy it now when there are a few decent games, plenty of ports, 1 amazing game, and the promise of good games to come? Maybe not if the available games don’t appeal to you. But don’t discount it, the potential is great and with further support this truly could change the gaming industry for the better, making games more accessible.
