We were lucky enough to buy this console during the pandemic, especially with all the price gougers buying these things up and selling them for $50-100 over retail prices, just keeping checking Best Buy and you might get lucky like us. My kids absolutely love it and the wife and I bought Zelda for ourselves (LoL!). Nintendo has another homerun on their hands with this thing!!!

The Switch is easily the best purchase I have made in 2020. Especially considering the state of things, the system has brought us nothing but enjoyment. A little escape during the day, and being able to seamlessly go from portable to the tv whenever I need to was something I didn't even know I would appreciate so much. Everyone passes it around all day to play Animal Crossing, it's great.

We bought this to pass the time in quarantine and it did just that! It was perfect for the family, we could play many games together, and we all could have fun. My only downside is the fact that sometimes the joycons will drift or do their own things. Sometimes the joycon will snap out of it, other times it won't. Down the road, I feel like it'll cost me a new pack of joycons, which is ok I guess. That is the only thing I have to critique otherwise I really recommend this product! One of my favorite Nintendo purchases to date along with my NES! Also, they do have a Nintendo online subscription that is very nice, especially when it comes to accessing retro games like paperboy! It is very reasonable as well for $2-4 a month depending on what/how long your subscription type is.

I picked this up at the launch of Super Mario Odyssey and I have been thoroughly impressed with the capability of this thing. It hasn't replaced my other devices when it comes to multiplatform titles, but Nintendo's own titles perform great, and the ability to take the console wherever I go is a HUGE step up over the days of 3ds or even gameboy advance graphics. If you're someone that does a decent amount of traveling, this thing is a no-brainer.

The ability to use this console on your tv or as a hand held is very much underrated. Granted that's the entire gimmick of this console. The games on the Switch are perfect for beginner gamers, and there are games that are challenging enough for people who've played video games a lot as well. The only downside is the graphics arent quite up to PS4 or Xbox One standards, but they're still very good.

    Best console for kids

I’ve got this for the kids (5&8) and for being their first console ever, and in my opinion is perfect for kids. The games are usually more kid friendly and less violent that the other ones in general. Most of the games are associate with Mario, Pokemon, Lego, etc. The console works great, simple, and specially during the shelter in place, this has being the best decision in the last days.

I love the switch! Best purchase I’ve made in awhile! Will also say the process of online ordering and in store pickup super easy. The girl at the counter was so nice and helped answer questions I had about the device. 10 out of 10 experience!

I bought this for my 8 year old brother and he loves it, many of the games are very cheap (compared to other consoles) or have free demo. I would highly recommend spending the additional $50 for the extra protection. After 1 week of having it my brother broke 1 of the controllers, so I took it back to the store, and got a new controller shipped to me in the mail. The protection is definitely worth it.

I bought a Nintendo Switch at launch and love it! However last year they released a newer model that has a better battery life which I've been wanting to buy. I was finally able to buy it after months of this item being sold out. All in all if you have the money I'd say buy this for the better battery life but if you already have a Switch I'd wait until the inevitable Switch Pro.

Perfectly great item! If you’re willing to spend a couple more bucks on games, I’d say go ahead with the purchase. Durable and fun to play either alone or with a party.

    Great little handheld.

The Nintendo switch is a cool little console, however I wouldn't really classify it as a console. It's more of a handheld console that you can connect to your tv. Even being more of a handheld it has some pretty cool features. The Joycon controllers can be detached and allow you to play 2 players on your tv or you can prop the Switch up with it's kickstand and play on the little tablet. The Switch comes with a dock which isn't very sturdy and doesn't have the heft or a wide enough base to keep the console from tipping if it's bump into. The graphics are decent and the technology is honestly a little dated for a new console, 1080p when 4K technology is on the forefront? I'm not sure why they didn't decide to beef it up a little. They may have their reason not to incorporate 4K but this is one of the reasons I think if the Switch as a handheld instead of a console. The other is the 32gb of onboard storage. 128, 256 or 512 gb's would have been decent. My PlayStation 4 has 500 GB's and my Xbox one 2 TB's. Yea I know the switch is a fraction of the size but so are some laptops and tablets and it has the same price tag as and Xbox One S. I do like the fact that I don't have to wait for the games to download to the console before I can enjoy them. The cartridges are pretty small and probably easy to lose if you're not careful. The tiny Joy's are reminiscent of the Wiimote's just scaled down. They have no d-pad and trying to use the little thumbs stick can make navigating menus frustrating. Fortunately you can is them together to form a more traditional game controller and the negative joycons buttons are used as the d-pad. This makes scrolling through menus so much easier. I like the Switch since I can play it while my wife is watching television. Currently there aren't very many titles for the Switch but the most disappointing things are there isn't any LTE to play online when not at home or to stream a movie from Netflix. While speaking of Netflix I was greatly disappponted to see there weren't any steaming apps offered or any apps for that matter. While that is the case for now I did read someplace they have plans to add these things in the near future, I hope that will come sooner than later. I'm pretty competitive and While I'm glad Nintendo decided to add online Multiplayer I was disappointed to see they will be charging for the service and I haven't seen any mention of free games or other content that the other consoles offer. I'm guessing that the execs don't think that they are in competition with Sony and Microsoft. Overall I have enjoyed my Switch so far. Nintendo did leave a little to be desired but did a pretty nice job. So if you are looking for a great handheld with the fun games we've enjoy from Nintendo over the years pick this one up. If your looking for a next gen console with killer graphics wait for the next Xbox or PlayStation.
