Love the device. Bought it for my son and he loves it to.

Kids wanted it so got it for them for Christmas they loved it

I've owned the Switch for almost two years now and, honestly, I don't use it much. Most games that come out are better served using either a PC or a PS4/Xbox. So, if you are considering a Switch, be aware that it's primarily for exclusive titles- of which there aren't *that* many. On a technical level, the Switch isn't that great. In docked mode it tends to overheat during long sessions, which, I believe, caused some minor graphical glitches in some games I've played. I don't know if playing a docked mode will decrease the system's lifespan, but overheating is never a good thing. The joycons that came with it have also had some problems. The right joycon's stick is starting to suffer from drift, and the Y button on the left joycon is sometimes unresponsive. It's strange to me to have such technical problems from such an expensive device, since I've owned I don't know how many controllers from other systems and never had this issue before. Buttons may get sticky, but I've never had a controller become unresponsive or start drifting. When the Switch is undocked, the battery is paltry. The whole idea is to be able to pick it up and take it around- and you can, but only for a few hours. Apparently, the newer model's battery lasts a little more, but not by that much. If you're going anywhere away from the charging station, you need to take the charging cable with you- of which there is only one. You either plug it into the charging dock, or you unplug it and take it where you need to. It's pretty cheap that they don't even include a second charging cable, considering how annoying it is to unplug it from the dock. Overall, the console isn't that great. Outside of playing a few exclusive titles, it has very few apps on it. Netflix still isn't on it, neither is Disney+. Combined with the physical technical problems the console seems to suffer from, I just can't recommend this to anyone that isn't a rabid Nintendo fan.

This is an awesome system. Zelda and mario kart are very fun for all ages. and you can take on the go!

It will make your kids happy. As an adult, I'm not overly impressed by it from a tech standpoint. The graphics are dated, the store is absolutely terrible, the games inexplicably NEVER drop in price even years after release. In other words, classic Nintendo. That said, their are a lot of great games to play. Lots of new and retro fun to be had. The portability is a gimmick the kids will have more use for than adults which is fine. It all depends on who you're buying it for, I suppose. If you're and adult buying a gift for your kids, they'll absolutely love it. If you're an adult buying it for yourself...I'd recommend a Playstation, Xbox or Gaming PC.

We absolutely LOVE the Nintendo Switch! Not only does it bring back a flood of memories from 30 years ago, but the ability to play old-school games on Switch Live is a game changer. My only complaint are the controllers: they tend to "twitch," and Nintendo is aware of the problem. My recommendation is to buy an off-market controller.
