Picked up the original Switch mainly for Super Smash Bros, and it’s been a blast. The console’s versatility makes it easy to play on the TV or take it on the go, and my wife enjoys using it for Animal Crossing and a few other titles. It’s a solid system for both casual and competitive gaming.

I don't usually buy consoles at launch, mostly because of availability but also launch titles. Given that Zelda was available at launch, I had to get the Switch. I was really surprised at how compact, portable, and seamless the whole thing is. The dock allows for such easy transition from TV to the console itself. It packs well for travel, and the price point is great. Splatoon 2 was another great title to pick up and am finally looking forward to spending more time with my Switch with Mario and Xenoblade 2 coming out soon.

I was waiting for this console to be in stock because of Zelda. When I finally got my hands on it I was blown away. The portability is just so nice and convenient for a lazy day when I don’t wanna get out of bed or I’m on the go. The red and blue joy cons are so lovely and beautiful looking. The Hd rumble is very nice and the system plays so well and looks gorgeous. Being able to play handled and on TV is a huge plus that makes it so different and fun. It is definitely worth the buy and should be picked up by any gamer.

The Switch is really an awesome console. Nintendo knows how to make great games. They have a way about them that no other console maker has. I have a PS4, XBOX One as well, but my favorite games are on the switch. Mario Odyssey, and Zelda Breath of the Wild are probably worth getting the console over (independently), not to mention Splatoon 2, or the family fun game 1-2 Switch (great for young kids 4 years to adult). It may not be for everyone, but it is probably about as close as you will get to the perfect console.

This is hands down the best gaming console out there today. Out of the box it’s great for any situation; on-the-go or at home, playing solo or with a friend with the included controller. The online store has a vast variety of games genres, expanding Nintendo’s previously limited selection with games for more mature audiences, while also keeping their classic family-friendly games. The Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for every type of gamer.

A refreshing look back into the past

I recall my first Nintendo was a GameBoy color as a kid back in the 90s and mostly playing Pokémon, Mario, and Donkey Kong on all their mobile platforms up until the GBA SP when at some point I lost interest in favor of Xbox and PlayStation. I haven’t played or purchased a Nintendo system until a few months ago during the pandemic when I joined the craze of people buying a Switch. I’m not interested in Animal Crossing, but I was interested in the games I once played rigorously in the past. It’s taken me awhile to think about this review, but I can say that despite Nintendo not winning the “console wars” in terms of specs and graphics, it’s greatest achievement for me is to bring back the nostalgia of playing fun, simple games wherever I am without being stuck in one place. With Xbox and PlayStation to really enjoy the experience I have to sit down and cannot easily move things around (I know Xbox has xCloud and PlayStation has remote play on Vita, but those weren’t available for me at this time). With the Nintendo Switch, however, I can have it docked when I want to play on my 85” Sony X900H or I can simply take it out and play wherever. During these times obviously I’m not taking it away from home due to quarantine, but I can play by my pool, move it to another TV with ease, or while relaxing in bed. The Nintendo single player games themselves provide fun challenges that aren’t stressful (at least to me) and really take my mind off. I still enjoy Xbox and PlayStation and play them more often than the Switch, but this fills in the gaps for when I want the simple joys of childhood.

We bought this for our 8 year old son. He loves it! our 4 year old daughter is able to operate it as well. She doesn’t totally understand the controls, but it is enough to let her think she is playing. We did make sure we got the newer model with the longer battery life. It was easy to set up with our tv as well, but not required. There is also an app that can set limits on the time they use the Switch. We have not downloaded the app yet, but will soon.

The perfect hybrid: The best feature and biggest selling point of the Nintendo switch is the fact that it can be used as a home console by placing it on the dock and playing on your TV, or removing it from the dock and taking it with you wherever you go. Sure it's not going to have the same power or graphical capabilities as my Xbox or Playstation, but thats not why you buy a switch. I will gladly take that compromise with many (not all) games to take them with me portably. Game exclusives: I play my xbox or playstation (depending on friends online) mainly to play cross platform games such as Call of Duty, Madden, Apex, etc. There have been few exclusives that have wowed me on xbox and playstation the way Nintendo exclusives have. Zelda BOTW quickly became my favorite game by far. Mario Kart is the perfect game to play when you have friends or family over. And games like Splatoon 2 just give a different and fun meaning to shooters. These just are a few of the games I have had a blast playing. Overall, the Switch has become my favorite console so far. I now know why they have been sold out everywhere during the pandemic. If you can get your hands on one, I highly recommend it!

This console is awesome. I take it to work with me every single day and play it on my breaks. Or when I'm out at a friends house and we aren't doing anything, I'll pull this baby out and have tons of fun. I don't have any of the multiplayer games yet like Mario cart, but when I do we will all be playing instead of just me. This is the future of Nintendo, and they have plenty of good games out right now and more coming in the future. Also, this is the best way to play indie games. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

The Nintendo Switch fulfills all of what I thought it would be and much more. I've played hundreds of hours already and it has only been out for a month, so I definitely have experienced most aspects of this console. If you're a casual gamer, the Switch will be great for you because of games like 1-2 Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and many more upcoming titles that will be announced at E3 this year. If you're a hardcore gamer, first of all, you 100% want The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because I've played it more than any other video game ever and I didn't even really like Zelda before it. Second of all, Splatoon 2 will be great, there are countless upcoming indie games, and there are always challenging aspects in Nintendo games as a whole that are catered to hardcore gamers, making gameplay optionally harder for the hardcore crowd. The Switch feels great in your hands, it is great on the TV or in the car with its sleek mobility, and it comes at a decent price when compared to other consoles. If you want a console that is great for a night of fun with friends, but also provides you with challenging games for a great personal experience, the Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for you.

After months of waiting for a restock, I finally landed my hands on one of these babies! This Nintendo exceed all my expectations PLUS MORE. Purchased as gift to my husband. To get him through his law night shifts. Little did I know I would love this purchase. We watch YouTube, and Hulu through it. And play all of our childhood games which are new and improved. Some kid on YouTube showed us how to upload Netflix on it too!

Say what you will about Nintendo but this device has brought more joy to my wife and I than our ps4 or previously owned Xbox ever could. Hell it’s even better than playing on my pc and I am a stickler for fast performance and high quality graphics. The reason I say all of this is simple: the switch is just plain fun. The games can help you kill time like nothing else and the ability to alternate handheld and full screen is the best idea ever. It is almost dangerous how much time one could spend playing the multitude of fantastic titles on this system. Open world titles can look a little blurry and antialiasing is nonexistent in games like Zelda but it is extremely easy to look past the flaws because at the end of the day it is about the fun you are having. Don’t hesitate on this console...get it when you have $300 saved up. Also for $20 a YEAR for Nintendo Switch Online you get access to tons of old snes and nes classics plus Tetris 99 and other little freebies. Well worth every penny!

    Brilliant Gaming System

Nintendo went ALL out on thier SWITCH. This is literally a home gaming system and portable HD 9" screen hand held system. It's very intuitive how everything works together. From the docking station to the joy/con controllers. Two minor downsides; the controllers are tiny and so are the game cartridges. Yes, you heard right-no discs, just very small DS/Gamboy size cartridges. I see my kids easily losing these things. Also, when I play a game with them my huge hands engulf the tiny joy/cons making it difficult to play. The solution for die hard adult gamers or those with large hands- nintendo's wireless controller (similar size to an Xbox 1 controller) Get this, just the other day my kids were playing Mario kart and it was time to leave for out soccer game that was an hour away. They literally paused the game, un-docked the system and within minutes were right where they left off, gaming the whole way in the car. Surprisingly the battery stayed full and my kids happy on a road trip. Just BRILLIANT. Needs more games, but that's expected with launch date of March 2017. Can't wait for splatoon 2 and the new Mario. This system will be the number one console this Christmas, better get yours now.

I wasn't allowed a gaming console growing up, so I was always going over to my friend's to play Zelda on his. Been considering the Switch for a while, wanting to play Breath of the Wild. With the updated version, I finally went for it. I have had a lot of fun with it. Zelda is so much fun to play, and the portability of this system makes it so ideal. I would highly recommend getting one if you've had an itch to play any of its games.

    Terrific System, Small Library

The Nintendo Switch is a wonderful system that combines the portability of a tablet with the power of a regular gaming console. Being able to take your Switch out of the dock and immediately be back in what you were just playing on the TV? Terrific! Being able to use the Joycons as two separate controllers for multiplayer focused games is also a terrific bonus provided you don't have hands the size of a normal adult. The portability is great because they can just snap onto the Switch itself, but using a single Joycon as a controller is difficult to do due to the size. The library is still currently small for the Switch, with only a handful of games that are REALLY worth your time. However, Nintendo seems to be doing right by their consumers this time and working hard on third-party development for the system. While there aren't many games CURRENTLY for the system that are worth your time, the Switch will soon be a worthwhile investment and an excellent addition to your home entertainment. Terrific console for kids as well.
