This is perfect for handheld mode. I own a regular switch too and the lite feels much better handheld especially since it has a real D Pad. I would definitely recommend especially if you have kids and need multiple switches.

if you wanna play anywhere and not worry about plugging into a screen ever its great. compact and cute and the colors are fun. reminds me of a psp in size. i play it every day!

Easy to use and I can do everything on my switch lite that I would have been able to do on a regular switch. Plus it's one of a kind, not many other people have this design also.

I use this switch when I travel as I have another one that stays at home in the dock. Having the smaller size and slightly longer battery life make an excellent companion switch!

I average it out at 4 stars. The actual unit was perfectly fine and immaculate out of the box. It functions exactly how it’s supposed to and has zero issues. Hence the 5 star portion. The 3 star is based on the concept. Look, everyone’s got their opinion. Mine is that the original model Switch is just all around smarter. First you get a bigger screen, not hugely bigger, but still, it’s an improvement. Second is the well known ability to “switch” between handheld mode and using on the big TV that most gamers and families have. Third is that even as a wholly handheld system Nintendo has shown that the joycons are substandard quality, so if you ever need to replace them you can with the original model, you can’t with the Lite for obvious reasons. Fourth and lastly is that the original model has a lot more options for, well, everything that it does and offers, like adding extra joycons and while maybe only a few games aren’t compatible with the Lite version (due solely to the controls) odds are many will miss Mario Party and that’s on the list of games that’s controls are incompatible with the Lite. Just get the original, you’ll be far happier.

Absolutely love our switch lite. So nice to have traveling, in the car, at home, wherever. Holds a great battery life. Easy for even the not so tech savvy adults.

This switch has worked great for our little one. He is autistic and the removable remotes always were a problem with him. Not no more thank god.

Bought this as a B-Day Gift for my teenager who has to share the family switch with his little brother and sister... peace for everyone now :) It is an excellent device anad with cloud saving, he can go back and forth between devices

Finally picked up this smaller handheld version of its big brother and boy am I glad I did. I’m able to play with the kids and we can DL all the best multi player games thru the Shop. Must have for gamers on the go!

Controls are largely intuitive for a generation familiar with hand-held controllers, and/or handheld gaming. I purchased in anticipation of sheltering-in-place during the Covid-19 pandemic as an alternative to the larger Nintendo Switch. I found the controls and smaller sizing compared to the Switch in portable mode a perfect compromise for convenient game play. However, certain games e.g. high-resolution and / or more interactive game-play like Zelda: Breath of the Wild or even Assassin's Creed, would likely be more enjoyable on the big screen option offered by the larger Nintendo Switch console. All that to say, I'd definitely recommend the Nintendo Switch Lite for fans of the old GameBoy or GameBoyColor, and newer / younger gamers. The handheld fits nicely, is more portable, and isn't as much of a pocket crunch if lost damaged during your travels. I'd easily throw this in my carry-on luggage, or commuter bag for a road-trip, business trip or leisure travel. Its the perfect size to keep younger riders entertained on a journey, so definitely a great option for families with multiple children, or young / nostalgic adults from the 80s, and 90s. I would recommend.

My grandson absolutely enjoys his Switch! It’s been working really well with various game options for his age.

I got the switch purely for the intention of playing animal crossing. I got other games as well of course, and the entire system has been way more than amazing. The games run smoothly, the screen looks nice, everything about it went above and beyond to what I had expected.

I liked the color and good price for portable game

I bought this during Covid to keep my daughter busy in between doing her school work. Love the parental capability, could monitor how much time she was on and set a time for her to stop using it. Shipping only took five to seven days and tracking was provided from the start.

Exactly what I wanted. I didn't necessairly want or need to full Switch so I decided to give the lite a try. Perfect. Plus you can still access all the older Nintendo games via the internet.

Wish you could plug this into the tv but I guess that’s why it’s $100 less then the full switch at 299. Daughter loves this console
