I love my switch lite in coral. I had never owned a game console this is my first. Very easy to use... I have animal crossing, Mario kart && saint row so far. Very fun. I can play for it for hours except Mario kart my hand starts to hurt (wrist) after a while. Joining the membership makes it more fun playing online with friends or strangers. I bought a case separate. The console is very sturdy and lightweight wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

I’ve owned the original switch since it launched, and I’ve played it in handheld portable mode about 95% of the time I’ve owned it. So the fact that the switch lite does not dock on a tv is not a deal Breaker for me. I think Nintendo could have added the ability, but I suppose they don’t want to cannibalize the “bigger” dock able switch. Anyway, the switch lite in my opinion is the perfect size for handheld gaming. I have fairly large hands and it is comfortable to hold and play for extended periods. I added this slim clear case that adds small humps on the back sides for your fingers / palms to rest on and I love gaming with it. It actually feels more sturdy in your hands then the larger switch. Probably because the switch lite is on solid piece, there’s no flex on the sides. The buttons are all very responsive and the d pad is what should be on all switch models! The screen on the switch lite is nice and vibrant and has very good viewing angles. I just wish it had some sort of rumble but still not a deal Breaker. Battery life is excellent. I think I average about 4 pushing close to 5 hours of gaming time before I need to recharge it fully. At $199 you really can’t get any other hand held gaming device better than this. There’s a vast selection of switch games, with hundreds more on the way I’m sure. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a switch but doesn’t want to spend $300 for it. You can easily overlook the fact that it doesn’t dock to the tv. This takes you back to the good ole days of gaming on the couch or your bed with handhelds! Nintendo should have called this the Gameboy!

After a slightly disappointing previous console, the Wii U, selling way under projections and only lasting half the life cycle of the original Wii, Nintendo needed a big hit to turn themselves around. While taking the motion controls of the Wii, the handheld gamepad of the Wii U, and the cartridges of the 3DS cut in half, Nintendo bridged the gap with an amazing portable/homebound console. Nintendo even further whittled down the system to a cheaper and completely mobile unit, and with impressive results. While the lack of any HD Rumble, docking and projection, it more than makes up for in it's quite extensive library and impressive technical prowess of a handheld. The screen is a little smaller than the standard Switch, but the screen packs a higher ppi (pixels per inch) count that makes it look a tad sharper, and a longer battery make it more than capable of playing Zelda on the go. The lack of rumble stinks, but the ability to hookup wireless pro controllers or JoyCons make it a bit more easier to forgive, but the price of those controllers are unforgivable. And you can only use wireless controllers, and a few games require the JoyCons to play (Super Mario Party, ARMS and a few others). Still, the amount of games that are available (some great first party support, 3rd party support is also fairly strong), plenty of HD remakes available on the system (Though rarely an upgrade visually, since the system isn't a graphics powerhouse) and it looks fantastic and stylish to carry around. It's cheap enough to recommend for kids or gamers on the go or wanting to game while vacationing, but a better experience is to be had with the docked variant.

Yes I know you can use the original larger switch portably, and we used to. But I like not having to deal with more things to carry with me. I got this with a clamshell type case and it stays in my bag for my breaks at work or when I’m waiting in the car, parked of course. Without the case, the thumb controls tend to snag on things and the case keeps dirt out. Other than that, it’s great! Tbh, I use this one more than my bigger one and that’s now the family Switch.

My bf and me got his daughter the switch lite for her birthday. She absolutely loves it. Its smaller than the original switch so its easier to store and carry. Honestly if the lite had released at the same time the switch did I probably would of gotten it instead since i rarely connect it to my TV. You can't switch out the joycons or connect to a TV like the original. But if you're like me who plays more handheld I recommend the lite instead.

I purchased this nintendo switch light with the intention of helping myself at home during this time with my crippling depression and anxiety. Along with the game animal crossing new horizons it has helped tremendously in bringing down my blood pressure and helping me sleep better. Just know that gaming is very addictive and you should do whatever you need to do before the day drifts away on your island. Lest you face the wrath of others for your slothfulness.

Excellent mini console making gaming in bed LITE!

Though I call this a mini console, it really is mostly the same as the original Switch but without... the Switching feature to a TV that makes a Switch a Switch lol! You still have access to the giant library of games that the original Switch can play with the exception of gameplay that absolutely requires Joycons. However, if you like to have extended gaming session in bed from time to time, this is the device for you. The form factor, size, and weight are perfect for long sessions. Whereas I've owned the Mario Odyssey edition original Switch for a few years and gamed in bed with it quite a bit, the lite has become my default portable since it puts much less stress on my wrists and arms! The only downside I've noticed from a technical standpoint is the precision of the d-pad. You would think a historic company like Nintendo would be able to design flawless controls by now, but the d-pad does not respond like I would like it to in a game like Tetris 99. I even returned the first Switch Lite I bought to Best Buy to make sure it wasn't a defect with that particular unit, but it seems it may have been a design flaw. I heard the original units at launch had issues with hitting diagonals and it seems they've corrected that. But as a result, when playing against high level players in the end game of a Tetris 99 match, I'm more prone to making erroneous hard drops or left and right movements during a hard drop given how fast and accurate I have to play to win. This seems to only be with Tetris and I imagine the precision of the d-pad in platforming games may be enough (but I haven't tested it much).

This is my first game system that I have ever owned. After watching and playing Animal Crossing on my husband's island using his Nintendo Switch for months I really wanted a Switch of my own along with my own island that I can create. My husband ended up buying me a Switch Lite along with Animal Crossing. This has been the best gift ever!! The Switch Lite is so easy use to use and I really like the coral color. I have offically become a gamer!

It arrived in perfect condition. I have been using my switch almost every day for the past 2 months and everything still works perfectly fine. The switch lite is a better option than the regular Switch for those who already have a playstation or xbox.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter and it is a huge hit. The color is her favorite color and she loves being able to game when mom and dad are gaming or on longer road trips. Mario is a bit tough for her but she is loving Pokemon Snap. A great birthday gift for a budding gamer.

Good portable gaming system ive had it for maybe a few years and everything is still responsive as it should be. I did buy a case to avoid the sticks getting mashed. You'll definitely need extra storage if you plan to have more than 2 games on the system at a time.

I got this as a gift, and my nephew loves it. It is easy to set up and has a parental app to set up by age range that allows you to monitor screen time. Graphics are amazing, plus you don't have to go hunting at the store for games; they can be purchased from the online app store on the console. Easy to use a credit card or a gift card.

A not so Lite review of the Switch Lite

The switch lite is a great handheld gaming device that meets expectations. This is great for kids, casual games, and those on the go. Be advised that not all games will be offered on Switch (such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.) but there are still good games such as: Fortnite, Rocket league, (Coming soon) Apex, Witcher 3, and Skyrim. Of course you also have your Nintendo exclusives like Pokemon and Mario games. As a twenty-something this is great to take on the go or practice rocket league tricks on the couch. Reviewing the hardware, the console is very thin but this can cause some hand cramping. You will NOT be able to display this on a TV but that is the point of this console. The RB and LB buttons are very sensitive and easy to press which can get annoying when using it as a Hulu streaming device, but it is not a problem in games. The battery life is decent with 3-5 hours of gaming time depending on internet usage and processing power needed for game. Nintendo did a good job bringing back dedicated handhelds, but I do wish Switch would consider allowing Xbox Gamepass and XCloud. This was an offer put out a while back which would let the Switch stream intensive games that are not offered on Switch, and it would also let you bring games from either console. But that is a topic for another forum :) Definitely worth the price, and would be a great B Friday, C Monday item to purchase for the holiday season. Especially since it looks like Covid is spiking again and we may be heading towards more lockdowns! This review was written in 10/2020 so it may be outdated by the time you read this. Enjoy your new console!
