Ordered April 22 and received April 28. Screen size and graphics are impressive. Battery life is as described, usually around 4 total hours of playtime before needing to charge. Encouraged me to fight with the scalper bots to buy the full size console from Best Buy so my family can play games together. Great purchase, make sure to put a screen protector on it.

My daughter, who I did not think liked playing games, has secretly started playing with her brothers, and I was surprised when she put this on her Christmas list to my dad, and she was surprised when I was the one who gave it to her... LOL and she is still playing with today and even taking it on plane rides for business trips btw she is 24

Basically a budget friendly Nintendo Switch that's meant to be more portable. Unlike the iphone 11 and iphone 11 Pro, Galaxy 10e and Galaxy 10, iphone XR and iphone X, etc it doesn't keep all features the same, just downgraded. In fact like the Nintendo 2DS (compared to 3DS) it actually takes away some features. If you already own a Nintendo Switch console, you can sync* or transfer from your profile/games/saves using your Nintendo account. Very simple; when you boot up system for first time it'll walk you through it step-by-step *If you sync or link one account to multiple switch consoles, the non-main one has to verify every few hours to play downloaded games which can be a hassle if you don't have internet connection Let's go through the list of changes: 1. Size, weight, portability Overall size in general: The Switch Lite is basically the Original Switch (I'll be referring it to 'Switch' moving forward) but with one of the joy cons detached. You think this will be more portable, but in practice from my personal experience it's not. If you consider size only The Switch can detach joycons for better storage. Downside is that you must be aware where you put the screen and joycons and attach them later. There is a difference if you pocket thing whole thing without detaching i guess Seeing the smaller size, there may be more hand cramping involved if you have giant adult sized hands Switch Lite is lighter in weight, but it's not a night-and-day difference. Not going to tell unless you have both side-by-side in each hand. Bezels are colored which is nice. It's not black like on the Switch, so able to distinguish where the screen ends 2. No detachable joycons Cannot detach joycons, making the logo snap/click sound clip that game trailers start off/ends with absolutely useless when referring to Switch line of systems in general. As one singular unit, fused into the system; feels more solid in the hand compared to original Downside is that it loses some functionality in some games You are not able to split controllers to let a friend play Some games that you can't play on Switch Lite out of the box (as of this review) are: 1-2 Switch Fitness Boxing Just Dance (Series) Nintendo Labo (Series) Nintendo Lano VR Ring Fit Adventures Super Mario Party Surgeon Simulator There are also other games that's not as convenient to play in handheld only like: ARMS Fortnight Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Mario Tennis Aces Pokemon Let's Go series Super Mario Odyssey Splatoon 2 Zelda Breath of the Wild You can buy joy cons to play on Switch Lite, but that costs additional $70 MSRP. Might as well buy a Switch at that point If the thumb sticks breaks or if there are drifting issues, you can have it fixed by Nintendo for $80. 3. Cannot be docked to TV, no kick stand No docking station. If you own the Switch with docking station; the Switch Lite cannot fit in it. As of right now, there's no official docking station for Switch Lite from Nintendo, and no 3rd party adapters No kickstand to play on tabletop mode. Seeing the smaller screen you wouldn't want to anyway even when a lot of controllers are sync and people squinting their eyes when huddled around the system 4. Has a D-Pad. Best feature of the system in my opinion. Better tactile feel when playing. Enhances gameplay especially when playing 2D fighters D-pad and other buttons (ABXY, shoulder buttons) are more muted when pressed which is great when playing in a public setting 5. No IR, HD Rumble The IR Motion Camera and HD rumble features have been removed. Games that support these features will not work on Switch lite 6. Better battery?? 4-7 hours versus the 3-6 hours of the original launch Nintendo Switch. If you buy the newer 2019 model of Switch (Retail box with a lot of Red), the battery life is better than the Switch Lite 7. New colors Comes in Turquoise, Grey and Yellow There's also a Pokemon Sword and Shield ( Zacian and Zamazenta) Edition edition 8. Smaller screen 5.5 vs 6.2 inch screen Resolution is the same at 720p, but more compact making it appear sharper with a 267ppi vs 236ppi Overall, I like the concept of a more portable (?), affordable switch, but I don't like the fact that it exists. If it's like the 2ds (with no 3d support). Devs (even first party) will eventually take away features in games in the future: motion controls, AR support, HD rumble, docked TV mode, etc to cater to a wider audience. They should have just made it smaller and kept everything the same Good buy for those budget friendly, but if you like more options best to go for the upgrade if you can afford it.

I gave this to my daughter who got dean's list last quarter. She loves it so much and couldn't out down. the color is so cute, just perfect for her. she's a college student by the way so this ain't just for little girls. she plays animal crossing which helps her relax especially when she needs a little break from her school work. if you want something to carry around and not planning on using a big screen to play your games then this is your best bet. it's less money with all the same fun as the usual switch with console.

Works amazing! But unfortunately I had to add my own SD card? Luckily, I do have a few so I was able to play the games I wanted with the amount of storage added. Giving this a 4 because I was not informed of this! But regardless its a great switch lite!

It was a gift for my sister and she loved it. The color was better in person than I thought it’d be, it’s not such a bright pink. I gave it a star less on quality only because it is all plastic and can feel a bit cheap but serves the purpose of being robust which is great for kids. The Switch Lite is perfect for casual gamers who have no desire to play it on the TV and want a fun very portable gaming experience.

Got this for my mom as an early Christmas gift. She LOVES it and now plays more video games than I do! She's almost 60 and this is her first console, so I was a little concerned that it might be hard to teach her how to use it, but she was playing Animal Crossing after only an hour. She's always been a big fan of World of Warcraft but I don't think she's logged into it since she got this. It's so much cheaper to play games on the Switch, so my dad's happy, too.

The device mores like a charm, but the storage is a little on the downside of things. I have one game and it took almost half of the available storage.

Wanted this exact color and best buy had it! This is another way to go through out the day and not just be on my phone. This was not my first hand held gaming system. I am not a big gammer. This is easy to use for a beginner and am able to take it anywhere. If you are wanting to play games and not have something big and bulky and do not care that it does not connect to the tv this is the way to go. Comes in many other colors. The buy hot topic of 2020

The coral color is so cute. I've gotten so many hours of gameplay out of it already. I don't regret getting a lite instead of a full switch at all! It's perfect. Small and light to hold, but the screen is plenty large enough and looks great. I never care about playing on the tv screen or doing multiplayer - I prefer the cost savings and the more hold-able size. So happy with this purchase!

Great console highly recommended Pros: Much more portable and much easier to hold in the hand. Due to the fact the joycons are not detachable the console feels much better built and robust. Where as the original switch felt a bit flimsy. Great size perfect for travel, commutes or kids Improved battery life Screen is sharper due to the higher PPI Better buttons Cons: The colours aren't as vibrant in real life The finish is a bit rough and prone to scuffs.

As an owner of an original Switch, I wasn't sure if I'd like the Lite. I recently purchased this as a gift and I have to say it fits great in the hands and feels high quality! Even more comfortable to play on the go than the original, and a great price to boot. Would gladly recommend to anyone!

I love my switch lite in coral. I had never owned a game console this is my first. Very easy to use... I have animal crossing, Mario kart && saint row so far. Very fun. I can play for it for hours except Mario kart my hand starts to hurt (wrist) after a while. Joining the membership makes it more fun playing online with friends or strangers. I bought a case separate. The console is very sturdy and lightweight wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

After a slightly disappointing previous console, the Wii U, selling way under projections and only lasting half the life cycle of the original Wii, Nintendo needed a big hit to turn themselves around. While taking the motion controls of the Wii, the handheld gamepad of the Wii U, and the cartridges of the 3DS cut in half, Nintendo bridged the gap with an amazing portable/homebound console. Nintendo even further whittled down the system to a cheaper and completely mobile unit, and with impressive results. While the lack of any HD Rumble, docking and projection, it more than makes up for in it's quite extensive library and impressive technical prowess of a handheld. The screen is a little smaller than the standard Switch, but the screen packs a higher ppi (pixels per inch) count that makes it look a tad sharper, and a longer battery make it more than capable of playing Zelda on the go. The lack of rumble stinks, but the ability to hookup wireless pro controllers or JoyCons make it a bit more easier to forgive, but the price of those controllers are unforgivable. And you can only use wireless controllers, and a few games require the JoyCons to play (Super Mario Party, ARMS and a few others). Still, the amount of games that are available (some great first party support, 3rd party support is also fairly strong), plenty of HD remakes available on the system (Though rarely an upgrade visually, since the system isn't a graphics powerhouse) and it looks fantastic and stylish to carry around. It's cheap enough to recommend for kids or gamers on the go or wanting to game while vacationing, but a better experience is to be had with the docked variant.

I’ve owned the original switch since it launched, and I’ve played it in handheld portable mode about 95% of the time I’ve owned it. So the fact that the switch lite does not dock on a tv is not a deal Breaker for me. I think Nintendo could have added the ability, but I suppose they don’t want to cannibalize the “bigger” dock able switch. Anyway, the switch lite in my opinion is the perfect size for handheld gaming. I have fairly large hands and it is comfortable to hold and play for extended periods. I added this slim clear case that adds small humps on the back sides for your fingers / palms to rest on and I love gaming with it. It actually feels more sturdy in your hands then the larger switch. Probably because the switch lite is on solid piece, there’s no flex on the sides. The buttons are all very responsive and the d pad is what should be on all switch models! The screen on the switch lite is nice and vibrant and has very good viewing angles. I just wish it had some sort of rumble but still not a deal Breaker. Battery life is excellent. I think I average about 4 pushing close to 5 hours of gaming time before I need to recharge it fully. At $199 you really can’t get any other hand held gaming device better than this. There’s a vast selection of switch games, with hundreds more on the way I’m sure. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a switch but doesn’t want to spend $300 for it. You can easily overlook the fact that it doesn’t dock to the tv. This takes you back to the good ole days of gaming on the couch or your bed with handhelds! Nintendo should have called this the Gameboy!
