However, I would recommend purchasing a travel case to protect your investment. If your child plays regular Nintendo Switch, then this is a perfect option for you.

I've played multiple games on the switch lite now and I really love it. This is my first hand-held console, I'm usually a controller user, but it was easy to adjust to the lite because of its size. The games look good on its screen, screenshots are great, and it functions as its supposed to.

He It was easy to set up and right after he started playing on it with his cousin who also has a Nitendo Switch Lite. They had a blast! Nice price point in addition.
