This was a great purchase. Love playing the classic Nintendo games as well as the new games. It's nice being able to play on the go or docked and displayed on the TV. This a versatile and fun gaming system. Images look great on the OLED screen.

A Modest Upgrade for Handheld Players

From the standpoint of an upgrade to the existing Switch, the OLED mostly delivers. It's sturdier, has a bigger screen and small bezel, and feels more premium. The OLED screen itself is considerably brighter and more vibrant which complements the colorful Switch library well. The increased system storage is a nice bonus too. That being said, the under-the-hood improvements are pretty much nonexistent which is fairly disappointing considering the price. If you can afford to swing the money because you want a nicer handheld experience, I recommend the OLED. If you primarily play docked, or this would be a difficult financial decision, I would definitely recommend waiting for any further updates before investing in the OLED.

If you love nintendo games + amazing graphics then this is what you want! My girlfriend and I had the original model and used it frequently for a couple of years! Eventually we decided it was time for an upgrade, so we went all in on the OLED Model… WORTH IT!

I saw this on display at Bestbuy. The screen quality was great. I thought about it for a few days, and made the purchase. Let’s start off with that I’m 49 years old, and like old school games. At the time of purchase, I wasn’t aware of the Nintendo online for the switch. I signed up for a plan and then saw all of the available games and gaming systems available for a free download, such as NES, Super NES, Gameboy, Gameboy advanced, Nintendo 64, SEGA. All that is available with expansion package. With having the Online you can order exclusive wireless old school NES controllers. They make the experience more enjoyable for me. Needless to say if you’re on the fence about getting one, then just get it.

I got this one after trying to choose between oled and the regular switch, ultimately i went with the oled seeing as i wanted a slightly larger more clear screen since i knew i would be playing handheld games a lot! I’m glad i went with the oled because you can truly tell a difference and it honestly just feels and looks super clean and sleek! Definitely worth it to spend the extra $ for the oled if you want something that is more appealing and comfortable

this is a switch with a better screen, games look great but don't expect Netflix Hulu to get better since they don't exist on it which sucks. if you don't have a switch and want one get this one if you have an old one get the white Joycon and that's it and its excellent because it just improves the handheld version of the switch so yeah

The OLED screen of the new Switch is definitely worth the extra $50 dollars in price. Pictures and videos simply can’t show the sheer beauty of this screen, you have to see it in person. While there is no upgrade in power as far as the performance, the OLED panel and bigger size in screen are worth selling your old Switch and upgrading.

We already had a switch, and we bought another simply for the OLED screen. And it makes a huge difference. We were gonna buy a switch too, and when we found out, it only comes with an LCD screen we decided to pass. And we’ll wait around for the old lead in the switch to to be released.

The Best Console I Drop in the Couch Cushions

The Nintendo Switch is basically a console that said: “Why not both?” Play it on the TV like a normal person… or yank it out and instantly transform into that weirdo playing Mario Kart in the dentist’s waiting room. Battery life? Eh, sometimes it feels like it drains faster than my willpower on leg day. But somehow, I still end up sitting on the toilet for 3 hours fishing in Animal Crossing. Worth it. The Joy-Cons? Oh yeah, they’re fun—until they start drifting like Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious. Nothing says “immersive gameplay” like your character moonwalking across the screen while you’re hands-off. Despite its quirks, the Switch has every kind of game you could ever want: Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, even a game about being a goose that bullies people. Truly, a masterpiece. 10/10—best $300 I’ve ever spent to lose all my friends in Mario Kart.

Not An Essential Upgrade But Very Pretty

If you don't already own a Switch, this could be a must-buy. The screen is substantially better than the original model. It's larger, brighter and sharper with much more vibrant colors. Honestly the old Switch looked fantastic already for a 720p screen, but this one blows it away. It is a tiny bit wider and maybe heavier, but nothing noticeable. The white controllers and dock are nice touch as well. And I love the kickstand. It can go to any angle now, which was one of my biggest complaints. They've also improved the speakers which sound louder and clearer. But if you only play your Switch in docked mode, this is pointless to own. But if you play in handheld, don't mind the price tag and must own the very best, this is a good upgrade.

It has an excellent screen and games to play. While it does have the tendency to drift after a couple months, I wouldn't say to avoid it.

Graphics are so much nicer than my old switch, battery lasts SO long. This switch is worth the extra money compared to the regular switch. I can leave my switch and the next day the charge will be same. If it’s not being used neither is the battery really.

While its not much of a size difference between this one and the original switch there is a little bit of a difference and its awesomeness! The oled screen is more clear and seems to make the display of the games look smoother. Its worth the wait to find one in stock!

I wasn't expecting just how much of a difference the screen was going to be when I bought this to replace my old, day one switch that has now been handed down to my daughter. Also, the battery life I get from this one seems at least twice as good as my old switch. I highly recommend the OLED switch to anyone that plays in handheld mode.

I am a complete gaming nerd and had the red box (second edition) Switch and finally decided after dealing with wobbly joy cons and a sub par screen in handheld mode, which made me never use it in handheld mode, decided to upgrade to the white OLED Model. Words cannot describe the quality upgrade in every aspect of the system. Let's start with build quality. This has newly designed joy con rails on each side of the console, the front half material is metal and the screen is actually glass, making a gentle wipe with a screen cleaning cloth actually able to clean the screen, the back is now a very hard matte plastic with the kickstand now the length of the entire console, it's on amazing smooth moving hinges and you can adjust it's angle to suite how you are playing in tabletop mode. Next the near inch larger OLED screen, I new it would be an improvement, but it is phenomenal, I now only play my Switch in n portable and am replaying games just to see them on that gorgeous screen, I have a very expensive TV, but it's 4K, Dolby Vision, HDR10, the Switch does not utilize my TV like my Xbox Series does. But it does utilize that gorgeous built-in OLED screen. Performance, OK so they say it's the same Tegra X1 as the red box Switch, something is improved, games run smoother, it has a smaller cooling fan that runs half as often. Every demanding game looks and runs more fluidly, some of that is the screen and how phenomenal it looks, but try I'm talking performance wise as well, I've heard it from other upgraders too. Now let's go to audio, it has all new speakers, now reviews said it's not a huge difference, it's a huge improvement trust me, max volume they are louder, and best way to describe it is just bigger sounding. No distortion, just another quality improvement that makes handheld play that much better. It also has a much better fitting dock. I'm pleased to say the battery life is the same as the V2 (red box) Switch, 4-9 hours depending what your playing. It actually takes less energy to run an OLED because there is no backlight the pixels themselves light up or for black completely turn off, why it has much deeper blacks. You get twice the onboard storage 64GB instead of the regular Switch's 32GB, and of course there is still the Micro SD expansion card slot to add more storage. For 50 more dollars than the standard Switch model you are getting improvements in every category, it's a tad heavier, but that's because of the better build quality and it's a tiny tiny bit bigger. And the design change goes internal, just know the internals layout has been revised in this model the changes aren't just skin deep. It is worth upgrading even if you already have the standard Switch. It's extremely worth upgrading, I now play it everywhere and it's so solidly built it actually feels like it it's not going to break, I would not drop it, but it definitely has a premium build quality as it is the premium Switch. I am so glad I upgraded. If your buying a Switch the 50 dollars extra is easily easily worth it.

It turns out we've basically had the Nintendo Switch Pro this whole time... It's the one with removable Joy-Cons! And now it has an OLED screen and a real kickstand. Not to mention it has twice the memory (64 GB), which means you can store two games on the console now! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to buy or upgrade their Switch.

Quality of shell and buttons is improved. Screen is amazing, love the look of games in handheld mode. The feel of the shell feels more durable, and the kickstand is now a really good stand, feels more sturdy. You can definitely play laying down in bed with the new stand. Worth the money, best option of the Switch yet.
