HTC Desire not so Desirable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cell phone for my teenage daughter and unfortunate it was not able to keep up with the amount of massaging, web streaming, and calls all teens do these days. It crashed all the time which for her was a catastrophe which i had to hear and fix all the time. She kept saying she was greatful to have a cell phone. Samsug or iphone for teens. Stick with those.

Nice Phone, very poor battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a phone that is good sized at 5 inches. The screen is quite good and easily good enough to read a book or watch video. The HTC Sense seems to be doing quite a lot in the background and that probably explains the poor battery life. Using the phone for phone calls, some video, playing music and reading some information online depleted the battery to 18% in just over 4 hours. This phone would probably be better suited for someone that used it very little. It is a great phone for the price, but would have been better suited to having it cost a few dollars more and increasing the battery size.

very good budget phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great phone for under $150. You can't directly compare it to $500+ phones, they will beat it in many categories. But for the price it is amazing. Nice display, the processor is fine. Camera and battery are OK. The biggest issue you will probably have with this phone is the 8gb of internal memory is just not enough. You can put a SD card in it to move apps to and for camera storage. But you will find yourself having to often manage the 8gb of internal memory. Other than that .. for the price it is awesome. If you are looking for a cheap phone (maybe to try out on a different provider) to purchase outright , or a starter smart phone for a teenager, it is a great option. A couple of the negatives can be overlooked when considering it's cheap price. From what I compared it to, this is definitely the best "budget" phone available.

Great phone for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Samsung Exhibit for a few years and finally decided to upgrade to this phone. I must say, I'm happy with the purchase. Nice design, fairly fast moving from one app to another, good reception, and I'm glad I upgraded. I only use a cell phone for calling, receiving emails on the go, or IM so I'm not about to spend $600 on an iPhone or S6 for bells and whistles I don't even need or use.

8/23/2015 - No oneclicRoot or Custom Recovery, yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these so far. Working 8-5, i usually come home with ~80% battery with very light use, such as making a few phone calls and checking e-mail, without using 'Extreme Power Saving mode'. The back cover feels nice to the touch, but i do feel like i could pry it off with force or a particularly nasty drop. Bought a Rugged case and a tempered glass screen protector online for it, totalling about 15usd per phone. Then JBWeld'ed a Scosche plate to the back of the case for the magnetic stand in the car. Aside from that one quirk and my current lack of root, i love this phone. The 4G/LTE radio is far superior to my previous Nokia 635, though it still only has a 2.4ghz WiFi radio. The screen's contrast is pretty decent under the sun. Much better than T-Mobile's LG Gpad F v496, tablet, which seems to wash out even on an overcast day. Android 5.1 is quite nice, pretty far along as far as security goes, too. None of the major oneclickroot groups have anything on this. This is also my first HTC device and I'm quite impressed with the theme-ability of HTC's Sense 7 UI. If you find yourself locked out of the theme manager, there is some glitch that HTC is working on, caused by updating Google Play. The glitch tells you that you must login with your HTC Account, and then tells you that you must update the HTC Account - Service. When you get there in Google Play, it tells you that it's incompatible with your device. If you have this problem, simply uninstall any updates to Google Play and you're back in business.

in love with my desire 626
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this phone so so so much. First HTC device, although well versed in their usage from always playing with my moms M8. Honestly, I know it sounds insane but I can barely tell a difference between the desire and her M8 other than hers is aluminum and feels much more substantial in your hand. Everything about the desire is beautiful and capable Imo. And I have a ten month old so I wanted to make sure I got something worthy of taking the 400 pictures a day I take of her. Lol. Overall just very fast and beautiful and I love the large display size. Best purchase this year! Get one!!

great bargain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.you cant go wrong with this phone, 8GB memory is enough for just apps that you need ,130 bucks compare to 700 for apple or samsung is speechless, phone work like a charm with 5.1 lollipop ,so if you wanna get rid of your galaxy s4 or s5 and go with this phone be prepared to be short for little of memory but im sure enough that you have a lot of apps that you never use and you dont need

Screen broke from just being in wife's purse.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen on this thing developed a crack from just being in the wife's purse during a routine flight. And it was not as if that was the only device in the purse. An 8 inch tablet was in the same purse and it was fine. Also really laggy performance because of all the bloatware from HTC and T-Mobile on the phone, would not recommend.
