We have not been pleased w them product. Nine times out of ten, when we set it to record a specific show or game, it says this program failed to go through. Very disappointing. The reliability factor is very low. Thinking we need to return

I bought this because I have a TV in a main entertainment space that I was unable to run a line to from the antenna distribution without some extensive drywall modifications/repair. The Tablo allows me to watch my local broadcasts over wifi VIA the Tablo application on my AppleTV (4th gen or newer) and I am extremely happy with this product. I have tested several of these devices and this is by far the best value for functionality. I would highly recommend hardlining this device to a network switch and having the antenna outdoors or in an attic depending on your location and distance from your towers. I have noticed in other reviews that picture quality and connectivity have been issues for some and I'd suspect wifi and and antenna reception are the culprit. I have been using this for about a month now and once I wired it to my network and moved the antenna outdoors I have been extremely happy with the performance. The Tablo application is built in to many smart TVs, but IMO, the AppleTV app works best. It seems to be the closest to a 'live view' as opposed to using a Roku, Amazon device, or smart TV. You can use this piece without paying a subscription - or - you can purchase a lifetime subscription for $150 or monthly for $5. The primary benefits of a subscription are being able to access your antenna and DVR while away from home and have an extended guide service. Without a subscription, you aren't able to watch away from your home network and the guide data is only a 24hr guide. I do not pay the subscription myself, but could see a benefit if you are an avid sports fan and travel. The application and interface are average, but I think they are more than enough for being without charge. This can only be used with an antenna, you can't run a cable or sat receiver into it and distribute that over your network. I call this out because it seemed like that would be another use-case, but the device itself does not allow for this type of application. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family that are looking for subscription-free options for local content.

Absolute garbage. Never worked well. Tablo would freeze and quit working nearly anytime I watched TV for more than an hour and quit working completely within 2 weeks of purchase. Don't throw your money away

Got this out of the box, and heard a loose piece of what I believe is sheet metal sliding around inside. Since I don't like short-circuits, I didn't plug it in, but instead took it back to the store. Too bad.l

Once configured this device is rock solid with a great picture. Great flexibility on recording quality and remote access. Pros -Easy(ish) setup -Great Picture -Roku App proforms wells -Ease of use Cons -Initial Hard Drive Format - Currently a bug in the software preventing new hard drives from being formatted, you must call in and talk with tech support for the initial setup. -Cloud DVR (only) service is not reliable, would recommend getting a hard drive -Samsung TV App - works but is slow and doesnt support pausing live TV -Syncing - My devices got out of sync after a new hard drive, had to call support to remotely force a resync, after worked great. -Limited Availability - Hard to find, I had to drive 30+ miles.

I could not get this to work properly. Returned the Tablo, spent a little more money, and bought a TiVo EDGE for Antenna. That did the trick.

Never was stable for several month, needed to be rest constantly. finally failed went out. Unit was plugged in to a power back up. Checked power supply still working. What a waist of money, plus all the shows i have lost.

I have not used it yet because the instructions are too difficult. I tried to register this product. Could not register until it is connected. I am very disappointed. I can't rate it until I use it. Sorry.

This has not worked very well since we bought this. I am not sure if this does not work well with the Terk indoor antenna or it just doesn't work very well.

Product does not work correctly. It was nearly impossible just to get it to work on our home network with our Roku TVs and accessing it over the internet did not work at all.

Don't bother - My Tablo died a month and 2 days after I purchased it. of course beyond the returnable date.

Had issues with recording shows and would give errors about storage. Wasn’t able to save to my hard drive. Had to return it.

save your money ! Was talking into it by a sales associate... not at all what I wanted

I have to say this little gem seems to be the answer to recording from HDTV antenna, in our area we have over 50 channels of FREE TV and this Tablo lets me record 2 channels simultaneously for viewing later, setup is easy and it takes a little playing with it to learn its features but once you take the time to learn its easy to record and can even setup to record all new programs of a show as they are available. And the best is being able to view on any of up to 6 TVs (with a ROKU or other box) and/or pc or phone. Just what we were looking for!
