2012 model ran perfectly...for about 25 days!

After exchanging for two 2013 models, both of which had the noisy whine, I found another 2012 model that is quiet and runs great. Hopefully this new one will last more than 25 days this time!

Also, the angle mechanism doesn't work smoothly. The supports are just cheap plastic and it gets stuck in the angled position and I'll be surprised it they last 6 months without breaking. I expected better quality for the price.

It is crappy plastic and struggles to stay at the elevated angles, and the fan does not help cool off my computer at all. Horrible product.

Even though I use the optional power adapter I cannot run my super drive or g drive external hard drive off of the built in USB hub. Additionally the fans do not shut off unless you unplug the power cord so I either put up with a constant fan hum or climb under the desk to unplug from the power supply.

This design allows the fan to help draw away the heat and keeps the potential for damage from metal blades down. These fans do have a limited 1 year warranty.
