A: It does not cool my laptop like my old Targus did. It only has one fan speed and you can barely feel the air movement. Not like the old Targus that had two fan speeds and you could really feel the wind on the high speed. The lower portion of my laptop (where the touch pad is and each side of it) stays too hot with this new Targus (The Chill Mat Plus with four usb ports). Read the reviews on Google search for the best cooling chill mats. Also important besides the air output quantity, is how effectively it is distributed through the grill or vent design so that reaches all areas of the bottom of your laptop. Hopes this helps.
