Unfortunately, they all have this high pitched fan humming noise that is really annoying. I will be returning all 8. This is the first time Targus has disappointed me. I called Targus Cust Svc at (877)482-7487 and the representative said they have had several complaints about this but there is nothing that Targus has done to remedy this known defect in this Cooling Pad. I am shocked to find out that Targus just does not seem to care at all. AWE84US or AWE81US.

Not for gaming laptops

The noise doesn't bother me, but it is noticeable if you play without headphones or at low volume. Do not recommend for gaming laptops. Makes for a nice laptop stand, though.
