My only worry is how long this product will hold up as it is my second one of its kind in only 2 years. But perhaps that is its own shelf life. Nonetheless, I'm happy to have full function of my laptop without it shutting down automatically due to reaching overheating levels. Also, the fan could hum a little more softly in my opinion.

The chill mat also comes with a 4-port USB hub and a adjustable stand. I like using the stand as I can adjust the laptop screen to the right height. I have not used the 4 ports extensively, but they all work OK. The chill mat fans do make a noticeable noise, but you get use to it after a while; and the noise is not a problem. The noise could be a problem for some who like total quiet.

Cooling system is quiet and steady.

I purchased Targus and am very satisfied with the performance. The price was good too. I like that the chill mat can be raised up to allow more air in. It is great to have extra usb ports for my extra peripherals.

When the weather starts getting warmer I'll have to place something on it to buffer the fan noise

Posted .JoeM, I would not suggest placing anything on it to muffle the noise if you are using it to assist with cooling of you laptop. Very Noisy, Quit Working After Only About 2 Months

I paid more for it than two others that were very quiet, and both of them lasted a lot longer than this one. I thought that Targus was a brand that I could count on, but would not buy this one again.....
