What doesn't work is the fact the the fans are too high on the mat. The solid plastic below should have holes so the heat can escape. Bottom line is that it didn't keep my computer from overheating. I got a refund. I've had problems with other Targus products and won't be purchasing any others made by that company.

The fan isnt as strong as i was expecting and doesnt do too much cooling for what i can tell. Its really on good to hold your laptop up at an angle.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that the chill mat is not meeting your expectations. This chill mat was not designed to be used as you sit in bed and rest it on your lap. Truthfully, due to that it may affect how well the fans work since it was designed more for tabletop use. If you are looking for something to rest on your lap I would suggest something like our soon to be released 18" Dual Fan Chill Mat with Adjustable Stand (AWE90GL). This chill mat will have a padded air mesh base provides cushioned comfort for your lap.

Useful Features, but Poor Cooling

The only thing this pad has going for it are the 4 extra USB connections which help make this an effective laptop dock. But it will unlikely cool your laptop effectively. For $70, this pad is NOT worth it.

The unit does not come with instructions how to use the USB ports. I wanted to use them to communicate with the laptop. After three months I have not figured out how to do it.

It is a bit pricey, especially if you are replacing it every 3 - 6 months, because of the rattling noise it makes when used a lot.
