The Chill Mat works very well at keeping my Mac laptop cool. I like that it operates from the USB port. No batteries or other plugins necessary. For the price, it could be sturdier. The hinges that set the height are wobbly. Made of a thinner plastic, I'm always afraid they may break. Also, the hinges don't click into the same height on either side of the mat, so you'll just need to be sure the laptop is even when setting the height.

This cooler is extremely quiet, when I first turned it on I had to hold my hand over it to make sure the fans were running, it runs so silently. The additional USB ports are handy, too.

This is the 2nd Targus cooling board I have bought, for any gamer out there using a laptop I would definitely recommend one. Not only does it prop up your device a little more to make it more comfortable for gaming, it also has two fans that blow into the bottom of the laptop to help with keeping it cool. As it's not a must have product, it's certainly worth the money to keep your PC a little more cooled down.

A great addition to have for all laptop owners. My only issue is the rubber pieces on the bottom that keep the assembly itself from sliding came off with no effort. But I glued them back on and no problems now does exactly what it says its going to do. Also it has a 5 plug usb 2.0 slot on the back for expansion and surprisingly I didnt notice any bottleneck with it. Very well designed product.

A bit noisy on startup, but that goes away after a while. The fans shoukd really be larger in diameter to cool the entire underside. I love the tilt feature and the extra USB ports!!!

I needed a way to angle my laptop while in bed and keep it from sitting directly on the blankets which seemed to hinder ventilation. This worked out great and keeps my laptop cool.

Excellent item, great value for all it does!! Cooling stand that tilts and has 2 cooling fans plus adds 4 USB ports to add to my laptop that only has 2 and bith are used up by the external keyboard and mouse usb connections. I bought it for the additional USB ports only but love that it is a multi-use product!

The chill mat works well at keeping my computer cool. Some loud noise comes from the fan sometimes, I smack it and it stops. USB ports have enough power to be used for flash drives.

I wanted to get something that would lift the laptop. It works well. My only complaint is that it is a little cheap feeling, not a very solid item. But it works.

Targus is one of those brands that occasionally surprises you. 99% of the time, Targus products are solid products that will stand the test of time. Then there are the exceptions. . . . This laptop cooler/mat is one of those exceptions. The basic idea is sound, and the planned features would have made this mat a real stand-out if the execution of the plan was as good as the basic idea. 1. As a laptop mat, they had the idea that it should have an adjustable angle. Great idea. Unfortunately, the mechanism that allows the mat to adjust wasn't well thought out. Attempting to adjust the mat's angle requires you to rotate a yellow slide-tab to disengage the locking mechanism. Unfortunately, the way the locking mechanism is designed, trying to adjust the angle with a laptop on it dumps the laptop off the mat and onto the floor, Attempting to adjust it without a laptop in place isn't much easier, especially since the angle alignment of the two sides is poor, which makes it easy for this mat to end up adjusted to an awkward angle with the two sides not level. 2. They provide a lower-lip to prevent your laptop from sliding off. Again, a great idea, but not well thought out. The size of the mat itself, the position of the adjusting mechanism, and the geometry of the lip conspire to make this mat remarkably unstable. 3. The cooling provided is woefully inadequate. The fans are much smaller than I would expect to see on something with the Targus brand name. If your laptop generates any heat whatsoever, these fans won't help. 4. The idea of including additional USB ports is a great one. However the USB ports - though supposedly USB 2.0 High Speed compliant - are abysmally slow. I tried this with two different tablets, with and without the included power adapter, and it was still essentially worthless. It would be better to get a mat with bigger fans along with an external USB hub, and it would probably cost less too. Overall, I think the basic idea of this laptop cooling mat is a good one. They just need to go back to the drawing-board and get it right next time. Would I recommend? Not really. . . .

The device not only cools the laptop but gives you additional USB ports that help when gaming!!

Bought a gaming laptop and bought this after one night of heavy gaming. My CPU temps were mid to high 90 deg C and this chill mat brought my temps into the high 80s. So, i'd say it does anywhere from 7-10 deg C of cooling. This was also the only mat they had in-store....so was kinda limited to either buying this one or waiting for one to get to me through the mail. It does what it is supposed to.....not sure how much more cooler one of these mats could really get your CPU.

Works great, laptop doesn't run hot even when gaming. There's tons of USB ports, haven't been disappointed so far.

works good but boy is it noisy!!! seems to have a thermostatic control for the fans but it really does make alot of noise the extra USB ports were helpful good buy for the price

I like this cooling system and I like the fact that I can raise the computer so I can type better. It is easy to raise and lower. The only thing wrong is It's a little noisy.

My son works on his laptop all the time. If it's not school projects and papers, its gaming and videos. He needed something to help him keep his laptop cool. This work well and allows a few more USB ports. The only thing I would have like is for it to have been a little more solidly built. It seems a little flimsy. Other than that, it does it's job well!

The best thing about this product is the 4-port USB hub. Keeping the laptop cool is a bonus. The material is very breakable. Please, do not drop and handle with care.

This laptop cooling mat works great, I had a lower Targus chill mat , at 39.99. This mat was 55.00 but they priced matched another store for 45.00. The lower quality mat I had before died within 1 year because the usb cord got brittle and broke right off. Hopefully this lasts a littles longer. I did see the same one for 12 dollars online but they where refurbished . So hopefully if it’s no good for a month I can always return or exchange. I gave 4 stars because it’s a little expensive. Overall I like the extra usb hub on it since my laptop only has 2. And I like how the mat is very adjustable. A little smaller than my last one but better made. I like the lip up front though my laptop has thick plastic feet so it kind of wants to slide over. I do have an older thicker laptop from 2010, I’m sure this would be perfect for the newer thinner laptops on the market. Two fans and a bit loud but it does help cool down my laptop, especially at the touchpad where it used to be so hot to be uncomfortable. Overall great buy, I did buy a hybrid ssd hard drive and windows 10 for the laptop recently. My laptop was the top of the line back in 2010, so hopefully this extends the life of the laptop.

The hinge was a bit tight to start BUT once the angle is set, that's hardly an issue. The built-in USB hub is very handy. No power problems have been discovered.

This cooling system works great and adjusts to several angles for hand/wrist ergonomics. The 4 USB ports are very handy as well(although 3 is all I've ever used)
