I bought this so I could use it with a laptop under a desk. The pad's intake is somewhat small so I have to make sure the laptop's heat exhaust is over the pad's intake area. The fans don't seem to push enough air to cool the laptop.

it's great on a table, but on my lap, it sometimes makes grinding noise

This helps me keep not feel so much heat when holding and using it.

This product is lightweight and quiet. It is a great accessory.

This cooler is super quite. When I pluged it in my USB, I thought it did not work, but after checking underneth it did work. That is how quite the unit works. Also, in the morning when I checked the laptop was cool to the touch. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

So, I got this fan because my previous one just stopped working but I had been using it for years so I gave it the benefit if the doubt. I liked the way it looked online and it seemed like it had more fan volume than my previous fan. I don't want to say it doesn't work because my computer has not been overheating and randomly shutting off like it used to but, I don't this this fan works well. My computer is still hot to the touch and when I lift it up to look at the fan, the air coming out is really hot also so I don't think that helps... Also, it makes this rhythmic pulse-type motion and is super annoying when I have my laptop on my legs...which is pretty much where it is all of the time. I think it works, just not very well.

This fan keeps laptop cool. A little noisy when using.

I use a laptop for a bdrm tv that always stays on. I have this chill mat plugged into it for precaution. Haven't had any issues with it or the pc so it seems to be doing a good job. I have it enclosed so the little sound it does make is not heard at all.

It's like an insurance policy against overheating any laptop and keeps the kids from putting it down where it can not vent the laptop. This is my third one. 2 are in use and the other didn't survive being dropped. This one was a replacement for the dropped one.

Great deal for the money - everyone should have one!

Two fans that suck (warm?) air from underneath the computer, and expel the air to the sides towards the common laptop ventilation and where most of the ports (usb, fire wire, network, headphones, etc. ,..) are; this actually creates overheating on the side. The USB cable is not detachable and can only be connected on one of the sides (where users, like me, whos use a mouse would have their hands). They should have designed the cooling system such as air circulates under the computer (resulting in more effective cooling and/or enhancing heat transfer) and it is expelled on the back; for the price you can't ask for more ... but I have found similar products, no-name brands that have a better design.
