Quality is great. It better be since it is made by Targa. Fan speed is slow. Not enough air speed for cooling. The pad is well constructed. Just slow fan speeds. Glad I bought on sale during Black Friday.

I sit on my couch with my laptop on my lap. I started using this cooling pad and now my laptop stays cool. I don't have to worry that it is going to overheat.

I bought this pad to chill my Lenovo N585 laptop. Before and after temperature reading showed a drop of 10 degrees Fahrenheit. It's usually very quiet, but twice so far it has started noisy and then the noise went away after about 30 seconds. Hopefully this is the fans breaking in!

A bit overpriced, but works well. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and have accidently left it on overnight several times, so it has quite a few hours on it. Still going strong. Wish it had a on-off button on the usb cable though, or some sort of speed setting.

My blesseth mother bought this last gift for me today. This gift completes my electronics junky cravings. hehe Anyways, it seems to be working for the last 30 minutes or so. I have been watching the outside thermometer right by the laptop vent to measure the heat coming out. It started out with about 75 degrees fehrenheit after just pushing on. During my use, I have seen it fluctuates between that and like 95 degrees fehrenheit. That was the max. Thank you God that it never reaches higher. In fact, checking my temperature right now shows it to be 82 degrees fehrenheit. So it seems to be working. It just reached 81F. I would be worried if it got to 100, however, I am happy seeing it is at 81 degrees fehrenheit.

My laptop gets very hot very fast, so I needed something to help. In the store, this looked like the best compromise between price and features. It helps, some, but my laptop is never as cool as it should be. Also, I've noticed that if the mat is plugged in while the computer is cool, then the computer gets hot faster than it would otherwise. I usually put my computer to sleep rather than turn it off and it has shut down because of overheating more with the mat than without. I now use the mat only when the computer gets hot and I'm actively using it. Otherwise, I unplug it. The product features says it fits up to a 15.4" laptop. Mine is 15.4", without much space beyond the screen. The computer is bigger than the mat! It slides off all the time because the mat is so small. (I know there's a larger one, but the packaging got ripped up before I had a chance to return it.) It's also really hard to type when I'm using the mat and holding the computer in my lap. My overall impression? I wish I'd bought something else. I'm making do with this one only because I don't want to spend any more money.

I bought this chill pad to cool my intensely-overheating four-year-old laptop. However, this chill pad did next to nothing to cool the bottom of my laptop. Putting my hand over the fans on the chill pad, I could barely feel air coming out. I will say that the air intake for my laptop fan is on the bottom of my laptop, and the exhaust (where air comes out) is on the side. So maybe by using the chill pad, I was blocking the air intake. But using a cheap, $10 chill pad (called an iHome), my laptop cooled much better and was even cool to the touch. I could really feel cool air coming out of the fan on this cheap chill pad. I am returning this product.

My laptop computer has not overheated since I began using this chill mat. It is doing a good job. The price was good also.

My laptop was reaching the 70C mark without this cooling base. Now it stays constant at 50C. I also opened up my laptop and cleaned out the fan before I bought this Targus cooling base. For $29.99, it's a good buy. I totally recommend it. It is quite and it runs off your USB port.

I bought two of these and them have been wonderful for keeping my computers cool during heavy use.

I am very disappointed with this product. My laptop gets hot...this cooling pad doesn't do anything at all! The fans blow really really low, I can't even feel anything when I try to put my hand over it! I did read the reviews before purchasing it though. I see so many bad reviews but I was thinking maybe they got the bad ones and maybe they are a little exaggerated about it. But no...this cooling pad really sucks!

All in all its a good product. Works as intended, however I would have liked a better air flow pattern than just the two fans in the center.

Fan on unit is loud when computer is booting up, but quiets down. Does the job.

I guess this could be ok for some people on a budget at its discounted price of $16, but the cord on the left side is about 6-8 inches, you must unplug it to turn it off, the dual fans put off a less noticeable airflow than a much cheaper Wal-Mart version. I also thought that you would want to avoid this because it is covered in a cloth like material and that is not good to have your laptop on. Same reason that you don't just sit it on your bed. No adjustability, it sits very flat not ergonomically. I am returning this product.

Could be cooler while on my lap for hours...but works fine.

I have the larger Targus laptop pad (fits 17", angled, bulky) which provides great cooling, but it's big, laptops tend to slide forward during use, and the USB cable is too long and hangs out the end with no way to stow it. But it works. This looked like a great improvement. Low profile (flat) design, USB cable attaches from side instead of back, and clips into the pad when not in use. And it's the perfect size for a 15" laptop. But I *swear* the laptop actually runs *hotter* when on this pad than when direct on legs! I can't explain it, but I put my hand under the laptop and was shocked at how hot the underside was. I want to extend the life of my laptop by providing adequate ventilation and cooling. This seemed to do the opposite. Back it went.
