Picture quality is great. Extremely easy to setup. Easy to switch to and from cable box to apps.

I used to be a huge fan of TCL TVs, owning several for my personal home and my rental properties. Then I bought this 43in series 5 TV for my bedroom and came to the realization that there’s a reason these TVs are cheaper than their competitors. For the First two weeks the the TV worked great, the picture looked just as good as their competitor’s TVs that were $50-$100 more. Then, just a few days after Bestbuy’s return deadline, the screen only showed solid black/ dark green when i turned it on. I could here the sound, put there was no picture. I watched some videos and read some articles on how to fix it but nothing worked. As I read deeper into the problem, I found out that this is a known problem and fairly common. If you want to research this yourself, you won’t find any problems finding people on the internet that had this same thing happen to them. It is a known problem, that TCL doesn’t have a fix for. I was lucky though, because, since the TV was practically brand new it still had the manufacturers warranty. After a single exchange with TCL customer support they told me the TV needed to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair. I won’t get into how difficult this process was, but will say that two months later they informed me it wasn’t repairable and they would send me a refurbished replacement (frustrating news since it was only a few weeks old when it broke and they would not give me a new one or a refurbished upgrade which would have been fair). It’s frustrating to know that TCL is putting out TVs with known problems like this and no way to fix them. I guess that is the risk you take when you buy a cheaper product. I was lucky it happened while I still had the manufacturers warranty (I can try and recoup some of my money by selling it now). Others haven’t been so lucky. I completely understand why some people are fine taking a chance on TCL and hoping they don’t get one that breaks. They really do look great and the features across their product line are top notch. But it seems like they are cutting costs on quality control, so if you buy one don’t be surprised if you have problems with it. Definitely do some research before you buy and figure out if the money you are saving is worth it.

Purchased this TV to use as a second monitor for my home office; now that I'm spending considerably more time in it! The picture quality is very nice and the audio is fairly good. The large screen has made managing large Zoom meetings easy as I can now see the entire group, the participants list, chat, and whatever I'm screen sharing simultaneously! No more trying to manage everything from my single, small laptop screen! Great TV for a good price!
