    TV would not hook up to wifi

    I tried everything, even upping my MBPS and nothing worked. Finally, i took it back and got a new, different brand and it worked just fine. Giving 3 stars because I already have a TCL tv in another room and it works great, probably just a dud. Hated lugging it down 3 flights of stairs though!

    Not a fan of the TV. The graphics were hard on my eyes and options to change the settings were limited. Could have been a user error on my part. I have Always had LG or Samsung TVs but got this one because of the deal that was going on. I later exchanged it for a Samsung

    TCL Smart TV's - Wifi and Activation Headaches

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS MODEL. After 3 hours, TV would not activate. The problem was TV would not acknowledge activation on my Roku Account (even though my Roku.com account would show as an added device to my account). I tried resetting to "factory defaults" and loading all required TCL updates and it never worked. Sprinkle in that It was dropping network connection (even though TCL network screen said "excellent" for wifi connection.) I should have googled TCL and wifi connections because I would have seen that TCL smart tv's have this common problem with Wifi. To add to my frustration, Geek squad customer service kept transferring my call and after half-hour of no one answering the call, I gave up.

    TV died last night, exactly 14 months after purchase. From the start was disappointed with picture quality as compared to the 9 year old 40” toshiba, which I reinstalled after concluding the TCL TV died. Originally bought the TCL because it was a ROKU ready. When I 1st installed and used, the difference in picture quality was clearly noticeable but I simply assumed that the quality for the price. In any event, I’ve been researching and it seemsTCL is an entry level, poorer quality TV so I’ll mark TCL brand from future purchase list. Interesting observation is that I also have a 55” Insignia 8 year old TV which is great.

    Broke after less than a year, the remote and TV stopped connecting. TCL sent a replacement remote that didn't work, then tried to pass the buck to Best Buy.

    I purchased a TCL 43 inch 5 series tv. The tv was delivered and I opened the box that evening. The only thing in the box was the TV monitor. It was missing all the accessories - power cord, stand/screws, manual, and the remote. I contacted Best Buy support (twice) and they gave me an option where they would re-ship me a new TV but it wouldn't arrive for several weeks - disappointing. I went ahead and contacted TCL support. They, on the other hand, were very helpful and is sending me the missing accessories I need within 2-3 days. Very disappointed in Best Buy

    Display on my 43" 5-Series 43S525 failed in less than six months. It could be this specific unit or the updated model, as I have two 43" 43S515 TVs, purchased in 2018, that are still working perfectly.

    TCL brand is unreliable

    Bought this tv in August of 2020, not even close to two years old and the backlight went out on it. Looked online to see if I could fix it and found like 100 other people had the same problem. Called TCL customer service and they said too bad so sad but the warranty is only good for 1 year. I should have bought a Sony for a few more dollars, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for so don't waste your money on TCL tv's, pay a few dollars more and you'll get better quality.

    “Clear Motion Index 120” a.k.a. Motion Smoothing

    The remote does not work unless you are standing directly in front of the TV. If your TV is mounted to the wall, this is not a good thing.
