Durable great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV a few months ago so I could watch TV outside- wow what an upgrade from my Sony 65 inch! The sony is a 2016 4k- so yes it's older, but the TCL is significantly better. BUT what really gives this a 5 star review... The TV has been knocked off my counter (storage inside ) twice by my dog on to a concrete floor and the TV has not broken! I look forward to buying another TCL product!

PICTURE TUBE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We brought this t.v. about a year an a half ago in store, the sales person said it was a great t.v., we spent $300 an our first mistake was to opt out of the extended warranty plan. Up until yesterday the t.v was working fine, when I turned it off an turned it back on 30 minutes later the screen was black, we tried everything to get the problem fixed, nothing worked, when I called the store in which we brought it along with calling the manufactory they said it was nothing they could do. I figured that much before I called, its just crazy because when you buy any items you expect it to last atleast 5 years, oh boy was I wrong, I wont ever buy another TCL, an the next t.v that I will get am getting the warranty..... I really WOULD not tell a friend to buy it, but its their choice

Not very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This TV is just not very good. Consistently looses it's internet connection. First remote had trouble with volume control. TCL set new remote. This one works fine except, this one eats up a set of batteries in about a month. But the worst part is I can't Cast or Mirror from my Widows 10 lap top to the TV. I have had numerous talks with TCL and Roku with no luck. The part I don't understand is that my Samsung S7 phone connects to the TV no problem.I own 3 ROKU streaming units and my Windows 10 laptop connects to them all no problem. I should have returned this TV right away.

Critical flaw
Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this as a computer monitor. As such, it is great at displaying crisp vivid content. However, it emits a high-pitched noise that is incredibly annoying. The noise is emitted if the monitor is off or if it is on but most of the screen area is displaying only a solid color background. A quick internet search reveals that others have the same problem. I am forced to unplug the TV whenever it is not in use. I do not have the same problem with other TVs that I use as monitors from HISENSE and LG I regret the purchase of this. It was inexpensive and has good reviews. I probably will trash this one and go with a better brand from now on.

Worst tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is by far the WORST tv I have ever owned in my life! The operating system is just awful- I can’t get on half of my streaming apps and when I do manage to get on it’s constantly freezing up off and on off and on, the option bar stays on the screen during the show, the remote doesn’t work the majority of the time (and no it’s not the batteries). I have reset,restarted and updated every possible thing and it’s still no better. And to top it off, the tv buzzes when a show is paused or on the main menu. I also can’t get the remote to connect with the google voice. It is the slowest tv I’ve ever operated- so moral of the story DO NOT waste your money on this tv.

Doesnt Last

43 inch version is cut down

Don’t settle, invest!

I willingly overlooked the issues I saw on the TCL forums as well as consumer reviews, brushing it off and trusting my ability to handle minor hiccups with technology. Those were bad decisions on my end, as I’ve now spent more time waiting for a warranty claim than I have with an actual functioning TV. Here are the two major issues I experienced with this TV. 1 - The TV itself suffered some kind of non-repairable malfunction one night after a month and a half of use. It was unfortunately out of Best Buys return/exchange program, so I had to deal with TCL directly. After having sent the TV to TCL, they called and informed me that they didnt have any on hand to replace mine with, so I had to wait a few weeks until they did. The entire situation has been extremely drawn out and frustrating. 2 - Beyond what many may consider a “freak” accident, the TV itself feels pretty poor quality. Even more frustrating is the software used for the “Smart” portion of this Smart TV. The UI is extremely slow and clunky, and bloated with ads. Worse even is that while watching content in apps, a section on top of the screen will begin to suffer delay and actually be stuck about 10-15 seconds behind the rest of the TV. There is also no actual fix for this! Seriously, go buy something else. Best Buy or TCL please issue a refund for this as I currently am out the price of this TV with nothing to show for it.

TV Broke After Only 4 Months

Was watching TV the other night and the picture started to slowly fade and the screen went completely grey. The sound was still working and could hear the noise of navigating back to the Roku home screen but absolutely no picture. I turned the TV off and back on, and this did not fix the issue. I reset the TV, unplugged the TV and this again did nothing. I called Best Buy, and the person whom I talked with was absolutely zero help. She quickly rushed me off the phone by saying that it was not Best Buy's problem and I needed to contact the manufacturer. I have been in contact with TCL and they want me to ship the TV back to them to get fixed. Not happy at all with the purchase and most likely just going to throw the TV in the garbage and buy a new one, but not a TCL (never again) and definitely will NOT buy from Best Buy. I rather find a store that is WILLING to help when a product they sell dies only after four months.

Bad power supply - bad warranty service

If you look online you’ll find numerous complaints about their warranty and bad power supplies. While the manufacturer date on my TV was less than a year ago, I had to call BB to get a copy of my receipt, had to take a picture of the TV, and spent a lot of time with TCL support. Now, I have to wait for a box from them, ship the TV and wait for a replacement. Many have complained that the replacement often looks well used. We’ll see.

Picture died after a couple of months.

Sound works and there's a blue-ish glow from the backlight but there's no actual picture. I've tried power cycling it, unplugging it and plugging it back in, doing the little remote reset trick, etc. etc. Nothing. I sent an e-mail to TCL support but am not expecting much help since I bought this in-person at the store so the little paper receipt is long gone, as is the box.

Worst TV!

Within a month after the warranty expired, a black line appeared about three inches from the bottom across the length of the TV. Now four months later, audio with a dark screen. Their customer support had me ‘reset’ the unit and now nothing works. I was instructed to contact a repair company. Seriously??? It was great while it lasted

Wi-fi Connection

It takes a few minutes to connect to Wi-fi and it loses connection in the middle of TV Shows/Movies. None of my other streaming devices in the home have this problem so it is not the internet connection. This seems to be a common problem with this specific brand . I wish I had done more research.
